I love that I’m actually becoming reacquainted with my papers and moving product that I’m not using onto someone who can!

Why is this so soothing to watch? I just discovered this type of video and I’m addicted. I will never judge what you keep, I find it interesting that so many creators have to keep explaining that it is ok to disagree on what we like and keep. Imagine if everyone just accepted everyone else’s choices and let them live judgement free, what a wonderful world we would have. I see this on make up videos too.

I feel so liberated in passing on some of the papers I don’t like. I love the idea of using the white side for stamping, cutting dies or backgrounds.

You inspired me to go through ALL my paper this past weekend - 12x12, 6x6; 6x8 - every paper was touched and assessed to see if I was going to keep it and realistically use it someday. I have a ton I am getting rid of. And I have added to my calendar for next year to do the same. Thank you for the inspiration.

I love it when you go through your paper pads and I always try to guess if you're going to keep a page or not before you decide. We have similar likes & dislikes! Will you let us know how you store the papers you keep please?
@ShannonAllor3 жыл бұрын
Just upright in a bin until I feel like making kits with them.

I should do this. I don’t know if I will totally break them down though since I already have so much loose paper and need to store them in plastic boxes since so much volume. But I definitely want to go through my pads,especially the old ones and remove the papers I don’t like and pass those along. I am donating mine to an elderly home where my 95 year old aunt lives. They do craft classes. So inspiring to watch you do this and I love that you talk through and tell us what you are thinking. I really agree with your choices!

I love watching your videos especially these, thanks for all your hard work. I have that City Maps one I love it I would love it more without the glittery bits but I scrap a lot of vacation so it works. Even the dark brown one hittaous paper I used it as a framed background. It actually looks good there 😄. The one with those hearts I cut them up and use them every where to tuck and not to tuck they worked well on several layouts.

I agree. I like the look of them, but usually cannot find a way to use them. Maybe a tiny square and that is it. Then sometimes they are shiny and I care for them even less.

I love watching you do this and your explanation of why you keep and why you discard. I really want to do this soon. I make cards and art journal as well as memory keep so my thought process going through my pads will be a little longer. But I think if I get the single sheets I keep organized, it will be a timesaver later when I’m looking for just that right paper 😀

Funny I was at Hobby Lobby yesterday and a brand of paper packs were 50% off. After spending an endless amount of time flipping through I realized I disliked more than I liked and bought none. 50% off is no bargain if they would go mostly unused.

I have all 3 of those pads. I've already torn down the Heidi Swap pad. The nautical is one of my favorites, but 5 of each is a bit too many, and it is so thin. And the maps.. I thought I needed maps in my life when I purchased it, but hardly use it, and like you, I like the B sides better. What do you do with the papers you save?
@ShannonAllor3 жыл бұрын
I keep them handy for making page kits.

I recently watched a video (unfortunately I can't remember whose video it was) where she took busy patterned paper, or paper that she really didn't like for whatever reason, and used white pigment ink to cover it with an ink blending brush. I imagine a sponge would work, too. I got some really nice effects when I tried it and was able to use some paper I most certainly would have tossed. I felt like that technique would have worked great on some of those maps.

Question.... and forgive me if I've asked it before. If you have a distressed solid paper, like the B sides you liked here, and you know you'd use it for a layout base do you store it separately from patterned paper you're more likely to cut into? Or is that just a weird thing I do? LOL I have a 12x12 cube from Thirty-One gifts that is just for patterned paper I want to use as layout bases.
@ShannonAllor3 жыл бұрын
No but what a great idea!

Why you wouldn't keep the 2nd paper stack for the white card stock on the back?
@ShannonAllor3 жыл бұрын

I had the Nautical paper pad. I took out the wood grain and some of the other papers and donated the rest. I didn't like how thin the paper was. Do you use the papers more when they are no longer in pad form?
@ShannonAllor3 жыл бұрын
Yes! I grab single sheets when I make kits and never want to go through the effort to go through the pads.
@carolynpicken69493 жыл бұрын
Why would you buy paper if you didn’t like it...not sure where you are going with this.

I certainly liked it when I purchased it. I go through my supplies regularly and pass on any that I am not inspired by any longer. All of my extras are going to an Elementary School teacher this time around.
