Hi Bob! Thank you so much for your lessons. They're really educational and come in handy especially for those who have just started learning English. I have to questions: Q1. the phrase "take the kids to their game" is used if our kids play sports. How can we say if a kid swims and it's his/her competition day? Q2 You said "every wedding I've ever gone to...." Can we say "every wedding I've ever been to..", since "gone to" means "has gone but not returned yet" while "been to" implies that the person has returned from the place (s)he has gone to?
@LearnEnglishwithBobtheCanadian4 жыл бұрын
You can substitute in "match' "game" "competition" for sure. Also you can definitely say, "Every wedding I've ever been to.." 📸🔓😎Both are correct. My version is quite informal but means the same thing.

@LearnEnglishwithBobtheCanadian4 жыл бұрын
Let's imagine you didn't have to work on Saturday and then your boss calls you and asks you to work. We would describe that by saying, I ended up getting called in to work." When we say, "ended up" it can mean that plans have changed or it is different than what you were expecting. Here is another example: "I was going to meet a friend for coffee, but I ended up seeing a movie by myself instead." 📸🔓😎
