Thanks for all the great work you're doing! I was able to find Blue Vervain in the wild and gave some to my 95 year old father some who just got diagnosed with COPD after being at the hospital all afternoon where they treated with fluids, diuretics and sent him home only to have the symptoms slowly return even with diuretics. One cup of Blue Verain tea took away his pain, fluid retention, and difficulty with breathing. He just looked at me and smiled! So Thank you!

This year this beautiful plant is EVERYWHERE on my land. I had never seen her before in 12 years living here. And I mean she is ALL OVER THE PLACE! So, I knew this plant was telling me something... so I started looking into it. Sure enough.... migraines, perimenopausal, stress, mood swings, etc etc. all symptoms I carry a penchant for. So I collected some and have tinctures steeping now. I also brewed a tea and tried that. I noticed the next day that it felt like my kidneys were not happy about it. So I looked up more specifically about BV and kidney and did find some stuff on her being potential dangerous for people with kindey issues. I do not know of any specific kidney issues I have, but I know what it feels like when they aren't happy from having had a kidney infection once about a year ago from a UTI - OUCH!! I really want to enjoy the benefits of this herb but now am not sure I should or can. Any thoughts to share? Was it because I drank it as a tea instead of a tincture? Thank you for being awesome!!

It may have been from the tea and going into it so quickly but it might not hurt to get a simple kidney panel done if you have insurance/Dr. You could also order an online kit if you're paying out of pocket. Might be nothing but would be a crazy way to find out your kidneys may need some care.

Excellent! Just found you, can't wait to study all of your work! I started seriously studying what grows around me in Louisiana for medicine (and food) early last year - hadn't heard of vervain, but that mattered not as it got MY attention! I love telling the story of actively looking for specific plants (now "allies" - love that!), but having an unknown plant engage ME! I'm always trying to get people to be open to Nature and our connection with It. It's just a little difficult to find open-minded people around here most of the time. Why aren't more people like this? I just bought some blue vervain tincture from vitacost because I've been having nonepileptic seizures that I think come from severe stress - that's also what the ER doctor said. I have a feeling it's also a spiritual sickness, and as soon as it touched my hand I held the bottle, and it was like this light came from the bottle into my arm and into my body. It felt like it was saying hi to me. Right now I'm on benzos and they've been affecting my brain function, and I want to get off of them if I can. however I think mine might have been made with grain alcohol because it's brown.

I would love to see a close up of your label format please. Thank you for your informative info and being down to earth and real. I have watch a few of your videos now. I like that you give information on live plant crafting, explaining the plant descriptions. I am use of making tinctures with dried plants because I understood that it's more beneficial and easier to access the live plants. I've been on Lisonopril 8 years now for hypertension. I'm currently on week two med free with normal blood pressure from sucking on dry bay leafs daily. I'm ecstatic and want to make a bay leaf tincture to see if it work's the same, thanks to you I now know how to make tintures. Next step is to move into adding the "salt" of the plant back onto the mix with a Spagyric tincture. Calcification of the residual plant matter and adding it back in completes the alchemy . Sulfur, salt, mercury.

Any brand will do really! I personally use a local brand to my area but if that wasn't an option I'd be happy with any other as well. Just to say make sure you are using fresh plant matter to make these tinctures so if you have dried Vervain I would stick to using her as a tea versus making it tincture😉

Hi Gail👋🏼 I had the same issue here in Ontario (west of Ottawa to be exact) I found a “moonshine” at the lcbo that’s 50% alcohol and I’m making a saint johns wort tincture at the moment.. as per April’s suggestion, I wrote down the date I started it and as a typical tincture percolates for 4-6 weeks, I will double the time required as its half the amount of 100% proof. Just wanted to share that in case you are looking for a “legit” brand of alcohol cause our local lcbo has it available! Be well take care 🇨🇦💖

I literally just found this plant other day! Now I know what it is ty! So I wanted to make my first tincture with QAL. I had Clear Springs 190 grain due to covid. Since my car is shot I asked the bf to grab 100 proof Vodka...he came home with 190 Everclear 🙊🙈😳 ummm. I read that u can add spring water instead of distilled water, since I don't have that either. Since it is grain I'm wondering if I should try to make a 70/30 or 60/40 and if it will even work? My buddy owns an apothecary he sd 85 proof for fresh and think 65 for dried sd I could get away with the 40 proof for dried. But in my head I'm like why can't I just do the 80/40 proof knowing it has 60% water with the 95 proof..like a 1:1 ratio? Btw my QAL is now almost dried bc I didnt have the right vodka 🤦‍♀️ NOW I KNOW Y U SAY GET 100 lol but I don't want to just use these bottles now for ...cleaning.

Deep breaths! Just hop online & find a free distillation calculator and input the proof & how much water you need to add per cup to make it 50% water. Tada, 100 proof😉

Grain alcohol refers to high proof 95% alcohol, not what it's made from 😊

Best to find a smaller jar ASAP to transfer it to, oxidation will for sure happen in a huge jar with just a small bit of alcohol.

Dear April, I couldn’t find any 100% proof vodka, so I used what I could find. It was 40%, I guess I will play with the dosages to see what works?

80 proof is fine just let it set a while longer the dosage won't be any different really💜
