SYNTHETICS ALSO HAVE INCLUSIONS THE TRICK IS KNOW NATURAL INCLUSIONS VERSUS TYPE OF INCLUSION IN SYNTHETICS
@ArmandCury7 жыл бұрын
Well, indeed. The gem traders have to understand that their job would be much easier if they provided even to simple people knowledge about that. If average people knew more about gemstone inclusions, they would buy more. And would refuse the false concurrence, the one which just disturb the market. Providing information will help the work of people like this gentleman from the video, as well as protecting the commercial world of gems, too.

Kenneth Barnett The trick is sending to GIA. New synthetics come out everyday that can replicate almost any natural inclusion.

I have been in the jewelry business for thirty years. I place VERY little importance on terms such as "Colombian emerald" or "Burmese ruby" as these terms have been thrown around so much that they carry no great significance. On more than one occasion I have had clients say that as long as a stone is beautiful they could care less about the origin. As a matter of fact, I actually prefer the emeralds of Zambia to those of Colombia. My mother wears a nine plus carat Zambian emerald that required no treatment, and I know that there will NEVER be a stone to come out of the ground in Colombia that will ever rival it.

I prefer Afghan Emeralds myself versus Colombian or anything in the Americas.

I've seen small raw Colombian emeralds that are blueish green online being made into hand made sterling sliver rings, they are about $60 each, would you say that she is using real raw emerald pieces?

Meh, "very important" that it was made by mother nature. I don't know... I think it's silly to pay a lot of money for something that is essentially the exact same thing (except some extra blemishes so you know it's real). For me, the higher quality item is a flawless created emerald. It's cool someone found a rock, but not thousands of dollars cooler. Not to mention that those blemishes can make the stone easier to break.
