A thought about the join line...maybe use it as a sedament layer line...carve a couple more under it and paint/ wash each layer different colors. Might be worth a shot on the next one.

My thought exactly. See, for example, these chalk cliffs: www.allposters.com/-sp/Chalk-Cliffs-at-Cote-D-albatre-Etretat-Posters_i13198289_.htm I would probably not try to stay really parallel, and I might even use the join line as a boundary layer between differently tilted layers of sedimental rock.

I'm just starting on modelling a stretch of coast between Folkestone & Dover for a section of model railway. This has given me some great tips that i think is going to make it a lot easier, Cheers!

this looks like a cross between a piece of pie, the Loch Ness Monster and an Elephant. its a nice piece of terrain Mel. I am enjoying all your jungle and island terrain to get inspired for some Ghost Archipelago terrain. I like that rock texture effect, I can use that on my islands in some parts and then carve it into beaches in others.

Amazing work and so well explained, and I'm so glad that you keep the parts of the video that you make little mistake on, sure helps me as I'm no master of making at all so mistakes are kinda my thing, but thanks to your tuition my scenery is looking so much better. Keep up the great work and thank you so much again for all you do.

Awesome ! Would work perfectly for Dystopian Wars. But please use protection when melting/cutting polystyrene as the fumes are highly toxic !

The coastal scatter terrain should start taking even more hits with the release of Black Seas. Thanks Mel for some top scenery master classes for everything that I now need for my ocean boards. Will these also be included in the book? 👍👍👍

Really enjoyed that. The guys I trained with used to use wider seascapes by using car bodyfiller & dimpling it with thumb prints (latex glove to avoid prints) might be a technique to consider if anyone's doing a wider diorama?
