Oh dear, I know that feeling all too well! I promise not to use it - for a few days, LOL!

Cathy, I promised myself a “no spend on craft supplies” in June but every time I see that polka dot embossing folding I’m getting closer and closer to buying it😂

Part of the issue u are having cutting all the way through is that u having the cutting edge of your die turned down wrong. U are pushing the sharp cutting blades down into the soft magnetic pad. It will eventually severely damage your pad. It's best to have the flat side of your die lie on the magnetic shim and blades will pushing against the hard plastic to cut smoother. I have to use some washi tape sometimes to hold my paper in place, but it does cut smoother & save ur magnetic shim from being damaged. I learned this lesson using my Gemini that way. I had someone using it doing a bunch of die cuts for me. She ended up cutting completely thru the magnetic shim. Had to buy a new magnetic shim. The card turned out gorgeous!

Thank you for your suggestion. I cut the other way up for years and hated damaging the plates as they were constantly warping, etc. After watching Anna Griffin herself cut into the magnetic mat (along with Cathy Zielske and a few others), I opted to do the same and think I will continue. Only a few times (and with thicker layers) does it present a problem. Thank you so much for thinking of me though. I am okay with replacing the magnetic mat versus the plastic ones. This has also stopped the plastic plates from warping (which happened with my Spellbinders too frequently). Thanks for liking the card!

@scrappincraftygardener well I understand that warping problem. I had 2 replace those plates on my Gemini for that too. So I guess it's a matter of which plates you want to replace if u do lots of die cutting. I use my Mini Empress mostly and don't have either issue with it. Glad to hear u have found what works best 4 u.
