I would absolutely love to see more in the Let's Make a Game series. Weird thing though. Whenever I think of a game I'd like made, something similar always ended up happening. So maybe if I think hard enough about prototype 3, it will happen lmfao. I wanted a Superhero game with electric powers. InFamous came out. I wanted a First Person GTA Style game. GTA V got a first person mode. I wanted an over the top action shooter. Doom and Rage 2. BUT. I'm Still waiting on a pseudo open world action adventure game set in a dream world, specifically so that you could have insane environments to explore. It would be part Zelda, part Prince of Persia, part Dark Souls. This is about to get a bit long winded, so ignore it if you like LMAO. Not necessarily the dark souls difficulty, but I just like its combat system and huge weapon variety. It'd have an upgrade system like most non RPG open world games today have. New weapons, upgrade those weapons. Maybe get basic weapons through crafting or something, but then you get fancier legendary weapons in dungeons, quests or hidden locations. Each weapon type would make melee combat control really different. So a sword would be completely different from a battleaxe, or a bo staff. Maybe even imbue those weapons with an element you've unlocked for more damage and special effects. New abilities. Upgrade those abilities. I feel like elemental superpowers would fit in nicely too. Complete different dungeons and once you beat them, you get a different category of superpowers. I dunno. I feel like a lot of games today have been striving for realism too much. I miss the days with super fantastical nonsensical world design. Floating islands, literal endless abysses. Lava castles. Maybe a whole ass temple being suspended over a giant chasm by the roots of a huge tree I DUNNO, COOL SHIT LIKE THAT.

It's even more painful when you realize that a third prototype would make bank because the fan base is still alive and healthy, and newcomers would definitely be interested. Super power games clearly do well and batman showed that they could be dark and gritty. This video has hundreds of thousands of views and other Prototype videos have millions. city filled with buildings means there isnt actually always that much in view and wouldnt require that big a render distance for all the stuff unless youre traversing over the city, i think if development started for this now then by the time it comes out todays high end pcs will be mid range and i think itd be totally playable for most ppl (screw the consoles though :P)

@@TheAlison1456 I'm not sure you fully understand what all goes into the process of "storing" and "loading" things into a game. For instance all the damage you cause (rubble that falls off buildings, as well as the buildings that are damaged but still standing) have to have their own models, unique textures, collision meshes, each one has to be unique to the building that got damaged, mapping data for NPC's so they don't phase through objects, and a lot more ect... it becomes a lot of STUFF to load and current tech just can't handle doing all of that in a timely manner. It may not even be able to do it very well even after the game has loaded because the game has to keep up with ALL of it and the interactions going on, constantly saving and loading the state of the environment. Even a game as recent as this year, produced by one of the largest gaming/tech companies on the planet Microsoft, (Crackdown 3, a relatively similar game) doesn't have both saving destruction you cause AND no loading screens. They couldn't even make it work fully, restricting it to mostly online pvp modes and even then it lagged. So no... I don't think it's possible at this stage of technology to do what he's suggesting on such a scale.

Another cool thing could be that you get different reactions from people depending on your disguise, for example dialogue from npc may change to softer words if disguised as a granny, and soldiers could tell you to be careful cause a killer is on the loose as a civilian

he got that from Elizabeth Greene. btw I noticed that the Mercer's Outbreak in Prototype 2 looks very similar to the events that unfolded during Prototype 1 when Bloodtox drove Elizabeth Greene's Infected army underground. By the time we started Prototype 2, parts of the city is already obliterated and most of the infected is burrowed underground like Elizabeth's. Could it be that blackwatch has succeeded in routing Alex's infected army on the surface and by the time we play as Heller, Alex already went into a guerilla style of warfare and infiltrates blackwatch and gentek instead.

I like the three Alex Mercers idea in the story, but I think the second Alex should be separate from Heller. Honestly, it’s because I’m curious to see how Heller would react if he realized that the player Alex and the first game’s Alex were different entities than the Alex he spent all of his game trying to kill. Would Heller be forced to trust us? Would he try to kill us and first game Alex because he thinks we’ll end up like Alex 2.0? Maybe this game could also take some inspiration from inFAMOUS in the sense that we could ultimately choose if Alex 3 is a heroic Alex… an Alex who surpasses Alex 1 in terms of his humanity, or an evil Alex… an Alex who is just as bad as Alex 2.0. Not to mention the interesting character moments that could come from Dana learning of the existence of THREE Alex Mercers. Having 3 Alex Mercers is probably the most intriguing part of this plot simply due to how it fundamentally changes our perspective of the previous 2 Prototype games.

I love it all and I HAVE A LOT to say. So much I cant write it all in a comment, mostly just building up what you suggested such as the swinging... instead... or in addition, have two tendrils whip out and attach to two anchor points and he pulls back and launches himself taking the player to the highest point striaght away. (This also works in the air) I have alot more, i'll be back... need to make notes. EDIT: my additions So personally I would change the designs for some of the weapons, just building up on what you said but This comment is long enough so I will keep it to a minimum. *Weapons* 1:02 The weapon body blades, (6:35) has so much potential. Including like a ranged attacks, like throwing the scythe out like a boomerang and cannon balls of bone (they would be like attached to a whip like a the mace drawing at 7:05 but it can detach and be thrown after upgrades and go ham on people. Similar physics to the tank but… faster.) Contaminators 7:25 would have a cool down of about maybe 3 seconds, they would still hit and stun things but the contamination wouldn’t work, upgrades can reduce this and once all upgrades are procured there is no cool down. (other nerfs could be limiting the amount to contaminate) Also the stealth options are endless, with poisoning someone and that gives a brief mind control ability and then making them walk into a base to then turn… be awesome. The ooze 8:53 I agree with all the way, it is cool. Drowning people in ooze of blood and goo would be dark and satisfying. In addition with Toxin 10:18 I would only add an ability to one of these or both being rain, send a cloud or ball of liquid into the sky for it to burst, rain down and melt everything around, (imagine the detail of it rusting cars away) and it provides chip damage to everything in the area. Light armor I totally agree, this is sort of a combination of what you say later (23:15) with the swinging. Game begins with Mercer strapped to a chair or chained up, some shit. He has been tortured for years at this point because he was patient zero so they did painful experiments, the scientist (Alex is still a scientist) that did this to the world basically. But a break in happens by either a radicalist group that don't particularly like Black Watch or some infected. This broken Mercer manages to get out and consume someone and that heals his wounds. Player then goes through facility killing shit, (Insert tutorial) some hunters that were experimented on break out and the player kills them consuming one. BOOM get the claws, we got a lot of powers in this game, might as well not hold back. Go through the facility maybe fight evil Mercer, get saved and or separated by someone or something, leave facility and the next thing you see up high in the distance is the white house and Washington monument. TITLE CARD. The 3 Alex’s make sense. 1 is virus constructed form Alex’s DNA therefore it believes it is him, No. 2 is the Virus it’self using Alex as he was patient zero so before it consumed anyone it already had his DNA so it defaults to him (however is fucked up because of Heller) and 3 is the original that was infected, they took samples from him to accidentally grow Alex 1. Only some tiny plot holes here and there but we can retcon a couple things. If people want I will reply to this comment with my ideas on enemies.

I think an interesting idea would be to make the new player to be Pariah, since that was never expanded on it'd be super interesting to finally incorporate that IMPORTANT aspect of the story to the series. Pariah would customizable with how they look and could either help the Original Alex (Moody but good at heart) or the mustachio twirling villain Alex to *Evolve* humanity.

The loading screens and the environmental damage will take a lot of computing power to make it run as smooth as possible. In order to make this work, I’ll suggest 3 ideas 1. Separated area loading chunks (Tony Hawk skating) will make the world seem almost seamless in the loading screen area, downsides are the restrictions such as world generation, npc generation and the environmental damage 2. Area around the player. Let me explain, the area around the player, let’s just say 2 miles, is always in a active state, where cars would be driving, people walking etc, downsides is the area outside of that zone, in order to correct this, maybe an algorithm which takes account of the players height in the game world which will extend the area of visible area which the player will be able to see 3. Open world sandbox-ish, all the major buildings, parks, etc are loaded the entire time, environmental damage will be permanent to any extent, downside is the huge startup time, little to no furniture in destroyed buildings, and the quality of resolution will drop I believe a mix between 1 and 2 are an ideal chose, with a focus on 2 as the main idea

I genuinely love this idea. I’ve had this same idea forever now and you’ve finally put it into words. I just love how you went along with this whole thing and as you were going through how you would make a protagonist I was hoping you would mention making a protag like Dante. It fits the revised environment and tone so well. That old early 2000’s emo vibe, though nostalgic and I still love it, wouldn’t jive well with a newer audience. A badass, lively, and stylish protagonist would open a lot more options for character moments and the over all narrative. We need to put you as lead director for this because god damn I want this game and the gaming community deserves this carnage filled, self aware, balls to stratosphere action game you envisioned.

I think 13 powers is too many - players wouldn't end up using the majority of them (not to mention they'd clutter the weapon wheel). Bodyblades are a great idea, one which I think should take the role of the Glaive. Contaminators seem like an alternate attack for the tendrils, another great idea. Ranged powers also seem like a goof, when Musclemass exists and should be useful for yeeting things. Ooze seems too slow for Prototype's vicious, fast, close-range combat, and Toxin seems like it would get ignored in favor of Contaminators or the Gobs. These are all fucking awesome ideas and would be sick, but I think 10 melee powers is too much and ranged powers should start with Musclemass and end with Whipfist and guns. Your comment that each power should be individualistic and different was on point. Personally I'd be fine with 5 melee powers; Bodyblades (with the slight range increase from Glaive, as our jack-of-all-trades power), Claws (for pouncing and close range attacking), Whipfist (anti-helicopter, mid-range and crowd control, though with a damage decrease to not make them the perfect weapon), Musclemass (with a hefty damage increase, ala Hammerhands, for anti-armor and turbo-yeet), and Tendrils (with Contaminators rolled in as their heavy attack, as an alternate jack of all trades, trading some damage for more area of effect for each attack and possibly area-denial from the contaminator attacks). Also no to web-swinging, just to keep our hypothetical Prototype 3 more distinct from Spiderman.

A couple ideas: first, I think that having a biomass jetpack instead of the spidey would be really cool. Like, you press jump or something during glide and you start ejecting biomass in order to control your flight. Second, It would be really cool to have a kinda dishonored-inspired chaos system, your ending changes based on either 1. How much chaos you caused (environmental destruction) or 2. Which faction controls most of the city/what state most of the city is in. (Infected, blackwatch, normal, or wasteland)

On the "swinging": Why not have a doc ock style movement scheme? Where arms/tendrils carry the character along by latching onto nearby buildings. You could just creepily hang in the air, even use ranged abilities while you're carried along.

I liked the idea of having 5 preset weapons that you choose from to make your own personalized playstyle, and each having their own special abilities, but I didn't like the dark souls style combat. The original combat style of going through hoards of baddies well still needing strategy in order to survive is way more fun to me.

wolfpack 9701 Yeah, the Souls angle was a really bad one to take with Darksiders. Darksiders has always been about cutting through hordes of enemies while still trying to keep everything under control, and Dark Souls style combat literally has the exact opposite philosophy. Focusing on 1-2 enemies at a time just wasn’t fun, and made Fury seem incredibly fragile compared to the other Horsemen. Plus, the ridiculous amount of mechanics they directly pilfered from Souls was really unnecessary; picking up Souls after you die (THEY LITERALLY CALL THEM SOULS), using Souls to both buy specific, level-based weapon upgrades or single-use buff/healing items, using what are essentially bonfires to save/fast travel, large, barren levels, upgrading weapons to +1, +2, +3, etc, healing requiring a lengthy animation that stops you from moving, lackluster platforming, no horse riding... Man I should really make a video about Darksiders 3 haha there’s a lot to talk about

Of course I have original ideas of my own that aren’t related to any currently-existing IPs, but if I were to continue LMAG, it’d be all about making new entries into real franchises, mostly dead ones haha. I think the environment idea would be dope but have a good side and the bad side, the good side is: imagine you want to complete a mission but its too hard because of the blackwatch and you pull up the contaminators and make a disputed territory and take advantage of this. that's really cool but the bad side is the story telling, like it has a mission wich alex would infitrate to a military base BUT if you created a riot and made a warzone or a wrecked zone, how would you play this mission?

I think it'd be better for the story so: James Heller goes to rescue the pariah thingy kid when the pariah kid is like 18, and as they are both escaping blackwatch unleashes a weapon essentially critically damaging Heller, since Heller doesn't want to get put in a test tube he asks pariah to consume him, and later pariah escapes, and he has visions of both alex mercer and james heller in his head(since technically Heller had Alex consumed. the visions will be similar to how V from cyberpunk 2077 sees Johnny) and we(the player) have the choice of either doing quests centered around James or Alex, determining our reputation, and at the end of the story there are three endings offered by an ally for example: 1.alex mercer ending(when you have negative rep) 2.pariah ending(when you have neutral rep) 3.james ending(when you have positive rep)

Great video, the [PROTOYPE] games are some of my favourite open world action games. I'm gonna address what I liked and didn't like as best I can, because you clearly put a lot of effort into this video. 1. Combat Powers - The variety of powers isn't bad, I especially like the idea of the Globules and the Ooze. I think we should keep the option to equip two powers from [PROTOTYPE 2] but give those mixed power sets, their own combination moves. For example ooze + musclemass, you can grab/hold onto an enemy and then melt them with your other hand and absorb them. I also think there could be alternate evolution options for powers, that you could potentially swap between on the power wheel, like in DOOM Eternal's weapon wheel? I think for combat powers, you should have added a sort of bioweapon gun, combining the projectile ideas you had. I call it the flesh gun, and what it'll do is look like a fleshy cannon has replaced one of the arms, a bit like a mancubus from DOOM. And it would be able to swap between ammo types, so there would be a biogrenade launcher that shoots out grenade projectiles like the tendril bio-bomb. Or combining some of your other idea, like a grenade the covers enemies in ooze of toxin gas. There would be the needler type, which fires sharpened spines into enemies, pinning them to the ground or doing normal damage to larger enemies. This would be ineffective on certain enemy types, like armoured vehicles or heavy/armoured infected. The needler could even have alternate firing modes, so maybe a shotgun blast to clear away a lot of infected, the regular rifle mode etc. The flesh gun would use up your biomass though, so you can't just go crazy and not reload/get new ammo. I think the musclemass power should let you use environmental objects as weapons. So maybe jam two halves of a car onto your fist like the Hulk, as makeshift boxing gloves. Rip up a tree or lamp post, and use them like baseball bats to send enemies flying through the air. Or as makeshift spears to impale vehicles and infected. You can still rip up these things normally, but you lack the needed strength/dexterity to wield them as anything more than crude projectiles. 2. Traversal - So for traversal I actually had a few fun ideas. I think divebombing to build up speed is fine, that should be done. To help maintain the gliding, however there should still be incentive to hijack helicopters, like they maneuver better and can fly faster. I think growing fleshy wingsuit wings, while you glide is a cool idea. My new ideas for travel however involve using the underground, so travelling in the sewers to avoid detection. Or burrowing into concrete using muscle mass. These could also be useful for avoiding fights, like digging down to avoid a thermobaric tank shot. Another cool idea for traversal is the ability to create biomass structures, similar to Cole in inFAMOUS 2, making ice pillars. You could use these to launch yourself up high. The tendril/whipfist could be used to whip yourself around, latching onto points as you swing around tight corners. Essentially tying a lot of traversal into your other abilities, so you become more mobile and fluid in how you move around the city, as the story progresses. 3. Normal Weapons - So first off, pistols for your character should be insanely strong. Something insane like the ones Alucard uses in Hellsing Ultimate, guns with kickback that would break a normal human's hands. Two shots to kill a zombie, and later upgraded to where they can punch holes through them and then penetrate and kill more than one. You should be able to store weapons inside your biomass body, maybe disassembled while doing so. You might even be able to do something like Obliterators from WH40K where you just have dozens of weapons embedded in your body, that you can grow ammo for, or fire off and then discard. 4. Story - I actually like your idea of three Alex's. It works out in such a way that the original [PROTOTYPE]'s Alex could have been doing his own thing. Maybe studying his own abilities or working to eliminate Redlight/Blacklight. While Evil Alex went off and was involved in the events of the [PROTOTYPE 2] comic and game. Original/Melancholy Alex wasn't aware initially of his doppelganger, as he was hiding from Blackwatch and doing his own thing. The third Alex could have formed from the multitude of limbs that James Heller tore off, during the final fight with Evil Alex. Evil Alex may have been able to takeover Heller at some point, slowly consuming him from within or he may have used his past experience with the Supreme Hunter to become like a big cancerous tumor and separate from Heller. Assuming he consumed or gained that ability during the battle with it in [PROTOTYPE]. Heller could be a supporting character, much like classic Alex, with Evil Alex as the primary antagonist. Or going with that Jekyll and Hyde idea, Heller could eventually split and free himself from his old body.

Powers: My main concern is that having multiple conversion powers might be unbalanced and/or redundant. Other than that, good ideas. Traversal: It seems to me that the best route here would be to add a little bit of improved gliding and a little tendril-swinging, but not a lot. Prototype's traversal is characterized by feeling HEAVY: Alex bowls through things and leaves cracks in the pavement. Neither gliding or swinging really brings that feeling. However, I do think that adding some basic improvements to allow for slightly more precision would be fine. Environment: My main problem with what you've portrayed is that you'd eventually run out of things to wreck. Maybe have it re-set after a play session, or have some way in-game to lie low for an indeterminate amount of time so things get fixed. In a game like this, ruining the entire city would both be sad (since being able to ruin stuff is the point) and entirely possible (ditto). Maybe as a compromise certain story beats or subplots leave truly permanent marrs on the landscape; sure that's not new but I don't see a reason to neglect it. Plot: YES. The main thing I would add is some chronological distance to go with the physical distance: It's been years since the blacklight outbreak and the general populace isn't really all that knowledgeable on what went on in NY. This makes the game more accessible to both new players and people who only played a little of the original games, as even though the POV character knows what's going on there's still other people that don't. Though, I should say I've never played a Prototype game and so my reactions should be taken with some salt. Still, this seems like a good game idea and I appreciate this kind of theorycrafting. And your sketch art is actually pretty decent.

About the destruction of the environment, I think it could work if it was like Skyrim, where you murder everyone in a location, and it just resets after some in-game days away from there But since Prototype relies on traveling very fast, the map would be huge to make it work

Powers: I kinda agree, I like the toxin just being like a poison effect thing, just for a fix Traversal: I feel like the glide he proposed was fine, it seemed good even, but being able to spider-man your way around would be flawed, because then he's even more like spider-man (because he can already do shit on walls) Environment: It'd be nice to have an effect on the environment in a way like he proposed, but yeah the whole wrecking shit would run out, so here's a fix: they try to rebuild so if you leave the game to it's own devices for a while, everything will be fixed, I let this be an over time thing so you get to admire your handiwork, like if you strung up a bunch of bodies, you could marvel at it, because it's beautiful in a twisted way, or if you destroy the city leaving some vantage points, you can look down and admire the carnage you caused. The factions can come back if you leave them long enough (in case you get tired of one faction ruling the whole city, and if you get rid of both factions it would just be uneventful. Plot: I don't mind alex being starkiller'd (if you don't understand what I mean, starkiller was the main protagonist of star wars the force unleashed, and you played as a clone of him for the force unleashed 2) especially with Alex number 3 being a true blue badass with either a Dante personality (which I see as kinda a deadpool style personality without as much fourth wall shit, and his interactions with Alex 2 would be great) or a doom guy personality (which I see as more actions over words) I've never played prototype either but I've still enjoyed watching somebody else play the games and would like a third entry to be the best it can be

Maybe the three different Alex Mercers are just results of them making different decisions when they each reformed in different places. Evil Alex is evil because he decided to start a new life in the woods with a girl but she died (I think this is canonically the reason Alex was the way he is in P2), Good Alex decided to infiltrate Blackwatch ranks and just live as a soldier for a little while (this could be the Alex that you fight for a good amount of P3 before you find out he’sa Mercer), and Badass Alex would be the one that you play as in the epilogue of P1 (after the story is finished).

I’ve just recently come back to playing these games on PS5, so I am very late watching this video. But I always thought all those years ago when P2 came out, “what would the next game be like?”. Obviously at the time we didn’t know that we would never see that game. But I LOVE this game idea. Bringing the franchise back over 10 years later to bring it back to its roots of Alex Mercer being the main protagonist is great. And having 3 versions of him? Imagine the boss fight possibilities! Or even implementing co-op? Having your friends run around New York and killing absolutely everything around you. Could even include the skins from P2 plus new ones. I absolutely love this game concept and I think it would be perfect as the third game we unfortunately never got. Amazing video!

First of all I must say that i like your thoughts and then I've some recommendations that might be helpful 1. having 10 abilities is cool but confusing but you can make some of them a choice between two in the upgrade menu, like a choice between claws and contaminators or between ooze and toxin. 2. try limiting the number of allies from contaminators to 20-25 3. by creating such great ranged abilities the use of weapons would be less likely try making weapons more special. 4. the light armor can have an upgrade to make it able to consume people as you walk by them and it them 5. the heavy armor can be good but if its size is limited to that of a hunter not a Goliath, and you can create a combo between heavy armor and contaminators which can turn hunters to your allies 6. I really like the environment part and permanent damage effect is my favorite 7. the tricky part of it all is the story. the alex vs. alex part is awesome but there is one big plot hole the new powers how you want to introduce those to old players. one thing i came up with is that the story happens some 20 years had passed and this new alex can be a clone of the original and the real alex can be a mentor to him or in an unknown place till mid game and only mentioned by some characters and the story will go on. hope these be helpful to you an di would be happy to help you any further

Whitelight (think I spelled it right) also did a reimagination for “Prototype 3”, check it out! For the powers, it will be cool if players can customize their own abilities, for how it looks like, how it plays like, and how it kills/consume. So there would be like the 10 basic abilities that all players have, but individual players can customize the abilities to their own liking. So much so that each player's Alex Mercer's abilities may look and play entirely different apart from retaining some of the same basic functionality. This would add so much more to replayability. Missions might need a better design to deal with different play-styles though. Feel like we can also incorporate part of God Eater's monstrous sword mechanics into the new Alex Mercer, allowing him to consume parts of the enemy mid-fight to heal ourselves, which also serves as part of the dismemberment system. As for the evolving environment, the hanging bodies and the tentacles may be eaten by the “birds”, and the debris can be cleaned up by pedestrians and Blackwatch soldiers, therefore serving as the “refresh and repopulate” function in the game. These will happen in a very slow pace, so that you can awe at your destructions first before the city is eventually fixed, and the battles continue on the destroy the city once again. Going back to the missions and the shifting status of a specific area, maybe you can implement some AC: Odyssey like function. So you can like let the side you're mission in on reclaim the area first, and then continue the mission. Or just let the NPC move to other places (ran away) so you can still continue the story. It would also be fun if the game did not aggressivly prompt the players to complete any missions at all. Just let the players explore and destroy, and following the story only when they wanted to. Some story mission can be missions that has to be completed within a time-limit (but don't tell the player that, only make the NPC sound like it's urgent, or it has a deadline before xxx date). Failing to complete the miasion within the hidden time-limit will result in consequences and changed story plot, thereby making the world more “alive” and allow players to be more mindful of their actions, which can also make the game more memorable. Having multiple endings and a relatively larger open world would be very cool and fun(because technology now allows bigger worlds with complex dynamics). Also, give players a sand-box mode, where the players can set the city into different states (can be specified regions, and customized to make the states permanent or dynamic) and is free of consequences from the story. Players can just explore the deep ability customization system in this sandbox, as well as test out combos, obliterate things and creatures, or just glide and swing through the city testing their traversal skills.

I'm not so sure on the powers... but I have been wrong before, and your ideas do bear merit, enough to at least warrant exploration, and my unease could completely evaporate upon seeing the pwoers in action, I think 90% of these pwoers will come down to execution... the liquid and gas weapons are neat ideas, though I think ooze should need to draw from ooze puddles before you do anything waterbend-y, and might look more like a portable hydra tentacle that draws people into it and grows bigger... with Alex potentially being able to vacuum up biomass afterwards, and I feel the toxin weapon and related devastator should be explored as a manipulation of the whitelight from game 2... you remember that one cutscene that shows Alex spreading the Mercer virus from the start of game 2 where he walks into the metro and just sprays a big cloud of red everywhere? I feel like making that the available devastator should be how one does it. the ranged weapons seem like very useful and needed additions, especially for things like rooftop helicopter fights, for if/when you run out of air conditioners to throw at them, rocket launchers and other guns to shoot, and don't wanna try using the whipfist. I might suggest perhaps some sort of biological flame/acidthrower too. as for traversal, as far as gliding goes visually- if you want to change it- giving Alex a biological wingsuit like what you see in Just Cause could be how one does it, other than that, you're bang on the money I feel, with a biological grapnel gun and divebombs (which could totally lead into the Bullet Dive attack if you hit the ground) traversal can be taken from just Hulk Ultimate destruction to new levels of superpowered awesome... and I wouldn't even question it either, it makes sense for the shapeshifting biological monstrosity to be able to do thsoe things I love the idea of the giant ooze pillar-wave and giant gas-cloud devastators, I figure making other, allied evolved appear to fight enemies could be an upgrade for the gas devastator. The acidity can be styled as blacklight attacking biological matter indiscriminately. as for permanence, I can see a system that makes damage stick around for several hours (three or four, maybe), and then it shifts into a 'repair' state in still-populated zones where construction workers patch peoples house or blacklight saws down groundspikes etc., or decay where the building slowly decays to a ruined state and groundspikes might fall over or otherwise decay, or infected might tear them up as a territory thing. helps make the world feel even more reactive to your actions. they're not gonna just leave a major obstruction on main street, y'know? someone's gonna do something about that, even if it takes a day-night cycle or two to get someone with a power saw and plasma cutter out as for your story, I love the idea, that tied everything together for me, and having a dante-esque Alex who maybe doesn't remember much (again) working with the serious Alex from #1 and fighting megalomaniac Alex from #2 and perhaps seeking a reunion of all Alex mercers to bring many disparate parts together might be a fun idea... like, finding, say, Civillian!Alex and Fearful!Alex and maybe a more low-key Sadistic!Alex or something and having to absorb them to end the whole thing with Alex Mercer... as it is, you have me absolutely hyped for a game that I am now depressed will never happen. I wish you could catch the ear of someone important, but alas... and if you do read all this, thank you for reading as well, I'd be happy to discuss some ideas.

sometimes i just really want to drive one of those trucks while being disguised, then just go to the highest speed possible with a boimass bomb when i would badassly leave the vehicle; which in then turn explode said vehicle into a horrific scene of blood, guts and gore everywhere, just to add more to that stealth mechanic

You should make this into a channel series. Was interesting all the way through but I do have one point to contend you on. THE LAG: I'm sorry but having a game that could have a destructible, changeable environment along with the zone changes as the blacklight or blackwatch spread would be a killer on pc and that is factoring in optimisation. That simply can not be done without having to sacrifice far too heavily on the gameplay budget so it feels good to play and the graphics budget so it looks good to play. Otherwise I have a suggestion for you to add to your points. Why is Alex the only one who can run around killing things like a badass? Like I mean, why not have a few rogue people that developed a sort of natural evolution that allows them to also able to do the badass stuff? Adding in the potential for more serious allies and enemies without having the throw the final battle at the player for a tough fight? Perhaps this could be a smaller third faction, a neutral force to Alex that could be his greatest ally? Maybe even lead/started by the first game's Alex and that is how the two would meet? Some playful confusion over the identities of the two could be a good way to foreshadow it.

In P2 Alex was already creating this group of Super Infected to help him. So it seems like the third faction would be a very viable construct. And not just as Bosses. Hell, make them random encounters or captains like in Shadows of Mordor. You wreak enough havoc and you’ve instigated a showdown. Either way, I think you got something with a third independent faction.

You lost an opportunity there, all of your offensive powers are arm powers, why not: -Grow bones on his head (horns) and shoulders which expand and are all super close combat and charge based -Multi-Legs or arms, nobody said he can't have more than one -Tendril legs, which help him traverse the map and also attack -Utter-Mass: Grow random limbs simply for the will of survivability, could be and escape skill -The spikes alt. fire could be different from claws, instead of a spiky growing from the ground and being aimable you hold the button and you can make a wave of spikes for 2~3 seconds (choosing where it goes) -Imagine the swinging but instead of him swinging using the arms, he swings using his legs, or when he wants to get to a wall he just shoots a tendril from his chests and grapple onto a wall Also: the darkness skill might made me have an anxiety because i love portotype, and i love that fucking game, MY GOD

I kinda disagree with your opinion on the Armor modes of Alex. Here's my personal way to improve it, first an introduction tho. Light Armor- mobility Medium Armor- versatility Heavy Armor- resilience in combat *Light Armor* would grant you a lot of tendrils that change depending on your actions. Are you climbing? The tendrils will aid you in it, and grant you a boost. Are you jumping? The tendriles flex on the ground to increase the heights you reach. Are you gliding? The tendrils gain a "Light Jak" (google it) aspect that allows you basically fly, with dashing in the air allowing you to gain more altitude. The drawbacks? You deal a lot less damage as your body is focusing all its ability to move you around. Maybe you have 50% damage reduction on melee powers, but 25% on ranged. Maybe you can even upgrade the amount of damage you lose out on. *Medium Armor* should be the versatile option, it adds armor and melee damage to close quarters melee powers like claws, hammerfist and Bladearm, etc. You would get the regular benefits of the default armor on Prototype 1, with possible upgrades to remove the drawbacks, eventually making you just as effective as unarmored. As you run, the shield becomes active and cause cars and people are flinged around upon impact. You still can't dash in the air, but you can still glide. *Heavy Armor* however is the juggernaut mode. You just become the "beefy beast". The best part? You don't "flinch" and are immune to explosive knockback. Only really oversized enemies can actually throw you off a little, and even then, you are rocking a lot of defense. I'd say that during this time all melee weapons that use bludgeoning attacks are just unstoppable, and as you run, everything just breaks in fucking half, things just explode upon contact or fly into things that explode upon contact, and even mutated monsters just get thrashed around, and you can even go toe to toe against them, even being able to grapple them with ease. The problem is that jumping is not as effective and gliding is out of the question. I'd say that you also recover health constantly and instantly absorb zombies and mutants just by touching them at certain time intervals. I would also just get rid of Muscle Mass altogether and just add as a default thing when using armors and no melee powers. You kick and punch super fast with Light Armor, you cause people's torsos to just fucking explode when using Medium Armor, and with Heavy Armor the people just fly into each other before exploding into one another. Another good idea would be to implement enemy resistances to certain types of mutated monsters and Blackwatch super soldiers, making them more resilient to slash, piercing or bludgeon damage. Anyways, I liked your plans and ideas, we are both of the same mind about Prototype. This series has so much potential.

Agree with the fact that you'd deal less damage in light armor but in my opinion if you are faster, attacks that require you to jump, sprint etc. Should be more powerful than normal : first because it makes more sense (you are faster not lighter so kinetic energy is increased) and second because it encourages a more mobile play style which is the armor's specialization

Plus the medium armor, while using more biomass or energy or whatever, functions much the same but also has a damage bonus while just standing. Medium armor cannot accelerate as fast but when you gain enough momentum you dont need to airdash, you can just parkour everywhere.

So before you read this, I just want to say that it's the third time im writing this because youtube keeps crashing and deleting it, So stuff has changed a bit from what I was originally going to say Firstly, this video was worth the wait, very well constructed and achieved all I expected, I would definitely play your game. Now I have a few ideas of mine to add Might sound dumb, but I really wanted the next [prototype] to have a new stealth system. I know, wrecking shit is the most fun in these games, but hear me out. I always thought that having a shapeshifting protagonist was a vastly interesting idea, and also a very poorly used one, and I would often find myself creating little stories to give a meaning to consuming some random civilians or soldiers. So what I propose, instead of obligatory stealth sections, a couple of missions where it is optional, and some outposts where stealth is also an option. In addition to this, I would like to see some new abilities, like bio-throwing knives, some way to call the attention of an enemy, infecting some random guy so he would trigger the alarms and all the soldiers would shoot the shit out of him or some other stuff. I also really liked the armor ideas (and was very surprised, because I think I went through the entire second game without knowing I even had armor), and I think this stealth mode could be a type of "armor" so to say, where Alex was unable to use his normal weapons, but could walk crouched and very quickly (kind of like the light armor idea) and then he could use those abilities I mentioned earlier. Alex could also have a bigger "wardrobe" of the last people he consumed, so he could use the different privileges that all of them have and mix them up, and maybe add the ability to shapeshift into animals, like dogs and birds, to go into certain areas without raising suspicion (there could be a hitman like system where people that have a similar funcion or guard the same area could identify if someone was behaving differently, and these animals wouldn't have to worry about that). Also i wanted to add I really liked the "3 Mercers" idea. I really didn't expect that but the idea grew on me. I know most of these ideas are stealth based and all, but they always try to fit some stealth stuff into the game, so if they were going to do it a third time they could at least do a better job That's all I had to add, thank you for your time and sorry if something's written wrong, English is not my first language

I always thought a more *subtle* aspect to shapeshifting would be an amazing twist to the normally chaotic gameplay would be cool as heck, it could also turn out horrible with all the main focus being put onto mass destruction. I.E, spreading the game mechanics too thin.

This third Alex could come from when Heller Ripped off the second Alex's arms; second Alex took over Heller from within, while the arms conjoined (or didn't, could leave room for a fourth) and devoured something to regrow another Alex who was this badass. Where the original is dodgy and the second is insane, the third is lacking their negative traits because of how disconnected he is from the originals.

Choose an engine, take a modding-team, make a fan-game. Without any marketing what so ever until it's done. Drop it and as soon as it get's DMCAed it can't be taken of the allmighty internet anymore anyway, because people do what people do... That's how I would realise it, since activision won't... Not the problem, everyone thinks it's so easy just to get around DMCA's "JuSt DoN't TAlK AbOUt iT". Yeah, that's a great way to get sued into the ground and possibly jailed. DMCA's are a courtesy. They are asking you politely to stop because it * is * their property and they have the right to say who does what with it even if you don't agree with that. If you choose to continue to break the law you get punished. They can't issue a DMCA if you just put it out into the word, so they skip straight to the punishment part. It's easy to tell someone to do something illegal when there are no repercussions for yourself.

An idea to the permanent enviromental damage!!!! I like the idea of things sticking around for a long time but not permanently. I think it should stay until that part of the city turns into a safezone at which point its rebuilt and cleaned up. That way you can still see your destruction for a long time without eventually turning the entire map to giant pile of bodies and debris.

You could add two more stages to the reactive environmental a a clear up (slowly gets rid of rubble) and then rebuild (buildings going back up and like street lamps getting put in)

I haven't gotten to watch the whole video yet so if my thoughts are in there I apologize. I want to see the Prototype series come back or at least provide a heavy amount of inspiration and groundwork for another game or series. Also, I think that the concept of mindlessness and absolute freedom to go where ever, (needless to say no video game to date has delivered such a free and dark tone that Prototype offers), has so much more potential. It's unfortunate that most video game developers and companies that attempt to make an open world set game end up with a half-baked forgettable result of a video game. Prototype as a series is like building stairs, one company successfully completed the first stair. After the first stair, the entity in need of stairs decided the staircase would either be too expensive or too tedious to continue. There lays the one completed stair, people pass by without recognizing it. Meanwhile, right next door, you have other companies making escalators that don't function and are unusable, or half-baked. Activision and Radical Entertainment worked to complete that really nice looking single step, then stopped. Think every time another game's open world felt limiting, where it's "open", sort of. Like you can walk, and even jump. Other companies are under-imagining the concept of an open world, giving us limited movement options, feeling limiting, feeling half-baked, hence the broken escalators. There's so much more work to be done. Also, to add to the game: 1. Physics which incorporate slowing surroundings as reference as in Quantum Break. 2. Possibly a mode or way to shift in game from single hits killing pedestrians to unique multi-weapon combos 3. Aerial person to person combat, possibly third-person behind view entering fighting game like territory... 4. Multiplayer!!!! (Both LAN and Online) 5. Pay $60 for the game, full package, updates as available, DLC or Post-Release additions be added without transaction, automatic with updates for all with a license to the game. $60, Full everything, paid, done.

Fox News? When's McCloud on? Great thoughts. I like the stair metaphor, very apt. It’s a staircase to awesomeness that’s just waiting to be completed. And hell yeah on the “$60 for a full game experience” note, P2 was really weird about that with its semi-worthless DLC additions and “live service” Blacknet thing that they stopped supporting like 6 minutes after the game launched haha. Hopefully a new Prototype could avoid those sticky modern monetization trappings

Whenever I played prototype I always wanted to be able to turn into the infected after consuming them, imagine flying around the city as one of those infected birds or a hunter tearing through civilians in the streets. I also think to balance this out so its not ridiculous they could add reduced health for example in the infected bird form so your not eating bullets , and also if your health dropped low enough you would be kicked out of this transformation as the virus would become unstable or something.This could also act as a substitute for your idea of web swinging as it could open up different means of travel.

I’m kinda thinking that there are other weapons that work for Alex. Not saying yours are bad, but I’m just throwing these out there 1: *The Hives (Strength 2, Speed 2, Range 5)* Think of it this way, you have two big deformed bee hive like appendages that will shoot out smaller sentient bee and wasp like creatures that have a homing mechanic. There are small bees that are good for taking down large swarms of weaker enemies or chipping down larger ones, or you can make large wasps good for taking down larger enemies or taking down aerial troops. Seems simple enough...WRONG! There’s more! Not only can you do that, but you can also shoot out a substance that resembles honey in consistency and scent, only the scent is 5x more potent. It will attract other enemies and make them go to your side in a way, as they will hunger for the sweet scent overpowering their other senses. This honey, whole very taxing and needing that little bar on your Hp, will also make your bees faster and stronger so long as they honeyed enemies are alive and well. Once they all die, the effects stop. 2: *The Saws (Strength 3, Speed 5, Range 1)* Mostly straight forward, Alex will create two saw like appendages on his arms that can slice and dice through enemies in very quick and gruesome ways, and they can be used as a projectile by lobbing them at different ranges and angles. And it will also have a bonus power! Don’t take it that seriously though. It’s basically giving Alex the ability to...Spindash. Yup, turn into one big spinning blade of death and roll around the city at speeds equivalent to Sonic, in Sonic Unleashed. This form, while faster, requires more careful control in order to properly maneuver. But once you get the hang of it, nothing will remain. 3: *The Nuclear (Strength 2, Speed 5, Range 3)* Basically turn Alex’s arms into two power plant tube thingies, and they take both elements from the Ooze and the Toxin. You can shoot gushes of biomass goo and gas that is radioactive and very poisonous. This power is basically them with all the strengths and weaknesses, only they add a bunch of status effects to enemies too randomly. Poison, slowing, burning, melting, or straight of turning to your side, it has all of that to fuck up your foes. 4: *The Tasers (Strength 4, Speed 2, Range 5)* Turn your arms into pointed conductive rods that conduct and produce electrical energy. This lightning hits like a truck made of lead, only in plasma form. This power is kinda complex. It can shoot straight bolts, orbs, lightning storms, or you can get up close and personal and shush kabob your enemies and fry them simultaneously. It’s basically lightning conduits the power, but only 10 time more powerful.

I love this video, especially in a game era where Im craving the resurgence of the overbrutal unironic edge prototype had My 2 additions Ive thought about a lot are: 1 - A faster linear speed, I love the smooth parkour and I think it should be a viable alternative to jumping building to building so that the latter is more geared towards movement around the area and the former is better for moving in a straight line 2 - More dynamic events. Kill events should be power based and allow you to fight both military and infected under their restrictions, one being more difficult than the other depending on the event. Same goes for warzones and which side you choose. And also I love the idea of an endless mode, where you just see how long you can last against an endless horde of infected or blackwatch

Okay, I need to ask a serious question. Is it too much to ask for *even more* powers? I know you added in about 10 extra powers, but my desire for ceaseless violence and disgustingly awesome weapons cannot be quenched! How about this: •Everything you said (because it's awesome) •Halberd -Speed: 2 -Damage: 4 -Range: 4 The Halberd makes use of large, sweeping attacks that carve through enemies. •Twin Axes -Speed: 3 -Damage: 3 -Range: 2 Similar to claws, but dismembers heavy infected units and crushes armor. •Taser -Speed: 5 -Damage: 2 -Range: 1 Using your own bioelectric current to stun enemies, opening them up for easy dismemberment. (Joke Weapon) •Napalm Spits out a sticky ooze that can be traced for a long distance and ignited, setting everything covered in it ablaze... and then it blows up. •Augmented Firearm Causes biomass to wrap around any firearm or weaponized utility in your possession, modifying their power and ammunition at the cost of health/mass. Modified ammunition creates clouds of toxic spores upon contact. • Clones/Decoys Creates short lived doppelgangers that cause a distraction. Can create copies of people you've absorbed which can be detonated at will. •Parasites Functions similarly to Biobomb, but seek out targets. Infected targets are unaware of the parasite and become marked. When activated, you get the choice of turning them, directly controlling them, or detonating them. •Weaponized Armor Forms temporary armor out of nearby debris, people, and vehicles. Theses are just a few ideas and I'm sure I can come up with more.
