Dude. I am an ex park ranger and naturalist. I teach outdoor education and nature programs for kids in summer camps. I will use this as a project for them. Very cool. On my own I have now watched over 20 of your videos with my 10 year old son. we put together a tool box and have obtained many materials (I create a list from your mentions in videos of tools and materials. I now have a new hobby to add to my sons current terrariums for anoles, leopard geckos, fire belly toads, and five aquariums. You are my inspiration and guide in this field of study and art. Thank you, Dan & Jacob

I cant speak for anyone else, but your channel has helped me greatly. Your explanations and creativity have motivated me to take up terrarium building which has helped me cope with stress and depression. I cant agree with you more with what you said at the end of the video. Whenever someone stupid comments something mean, just remember the people who you have inspired that might not be as active with the feedback. The vocal minority is real, and I feel that 99% of people watching have a real respect for what you are doing. Great channel, great vibes, and great work! Thank you!

Anyone else getting moss envy? I am quite happy that I found that my front walkway is covered with marchantia polymorpha this year, it gave my miniature plantings a really cool look for a while. Just realised I should have looked for both male and female. Loved the video. This is such a fun and relaxing hobby, especially over the winter months.

Absolutely love the little millipedes, they're so cute! Just a heads up though, as someone who keeps millis its usually not recommended to keep them together with isopods, since the isopods are scavengers and depending on the species can end up nibbling on the pedes when they molt and injuring or killing them. They will also eat the millipede eggs, if you care about getting babies. The millipedes typically dig into the substrate to molt and then are defenseless and immobile for a long while, so springtails are the preferred cleanup crew for them over isopods.

Personally, I am VERY GLAD you did the terrarium series. They break down what could be a rather overwhelming subject (especially the ones where you explain such basics as how you make your substrate) and make it understandable. Concepts are clearly explained. Videos are very well edited. And even ones like this are very well executed. You are always clear and concise.

Thank you, Tanner, for your wonderful videos! I purchased a Venus fly trap and decided to make it into a terrarium. I had no idea what a vast world of enjoyment laid before me. I have watched your videos for weeks now and have slowly collected some materials and tools. When my carbon fiber substrate barrier arrives next week, I will put my first terrarium together. I can hardly wait! I love "bringing the outdoors in". I'm anxious to teach these skills to my grandchildren. I also got involved in my terrarium project while my husband is battling illness. Having a project to work on that's not overwhelming to create a beautiful, peaceful display of living art has been good therapy. Looking forward to 'test driving' my new-found skills. Thank you. God bless you.

I did almost exactly the same. i went into the woods and collected little ferns and mosses and bark and a neat looking stone. I left the dirt on hoping to get some native bugs but nothing came on it. I added some springtails later. The woods we own and eventually want to put a house on the land so I have brought some of the woods into my present home. It makes me feel closer to the land we will eventually be living. I made one terrarium in exactly the same jar type you used. I also used a 2 different clear plastic cookie jars and a strange looking container that the springtails just love. Then I have a small bottle that's had the top cut off and I don't like it. The plants don't seem to like it either. That I'm not sure I will keep. I might clean it out and use it on end for cut flowers. Anyway, I like watching your videos. They are calming and about something I like. I hope you take the time to continue them. I have learned a bunch of stuff. Thank you. June

I like the change of setting and the sound was actually really soothing! Concerning "the point" of making Terrariums: I think getting nature inside by building them gives you not only the opportunity to understand nature better but also lets you appreciate it more. We spend so much time inside our schools, homes and workplaces, that having nature inside is a great way to reconnect with it. Also, since I`m finally back home in Germany I will rewatch the old tutorials and build a terrarium for my first apartment here. Looking forward to more Tips and Inspiration from your channel. Keep the great work up!
