dry: 1 cup self-rising corn meal 1¼ cup self-rising flour mix together until well incorporated wet: 2 eggs ¾ cup buttermilk whisk together and fold in 1 stick melted butter (cooled) stir in 4 tsp honey whisk wet into dry until well incorporated. add additional buttermilk if necessary grease 10” skillet with a half stick of butter cook uncovered at 375 for 20-22 minutes

@@TingTingalingy Considering ramsey stopped being a chef about twenty years ago and has instead just been a camera pesona, about right. The real chefs are in kitchens, not in dressing rooms and makeup trailers. goes the same for real doctors, real scientists, real so on.

Where in Arkansas are you. I'm in east central, bout 50 miles west of Memphis. Have lived and worked in Louisiana. Loved it down there. I learned that if a Cajun likes you you got nothing to worry about, if they don't like you better keep one eye on them. Had a wonderful time in Louisiana. 😊

See this is that southern cone bread my grandmother used to make.. She had the big black heavy skillets and coal ovens. And all her measurements of ingredients were done when singing in the kitchen. I have never been able to make good cornbread. I think I found some of my problems to correct watching this video. For one, I was not putting near enough butter or shortening in the skillet to keep it moist and keep it from sticking. I was also not putting enough flour in the mix. I'm going to apply the stuff I've learned and see if it helps.

I made a pan of cornbread tonight with my dinner of meatballs n gravy over white rice…My cornbread is in a cast iron skillet too, with a can of cream corn, a dollop of Daisy, an egg, shredded cheese and 1/4 cup of sugar *chefs kiss* Thank you for sharing your recipe! If you really like a jalapeño flavor, you can add juice from a jar of jalapeños! Gives it a great flavor. I use almost this exact recipe for my mudda frikkin cornbread!

My grandmother used a little Bacon grease in the preheated cast iron. When she poured the cornbread mixture into the pan it would sizzle! I sure miss her cornbread too! Made with love!

In Tennessee we don't use Flour or Sugar/Honey in cornbread and we use white cornmeal also the older the buttermilk the better!
