Is soldering really necessary and can we smooth the glass by using sand paper instead because its too expensive for me 😢I am very much interested in glass cutting
@MaryJane-zw5pv2 ай бұрын
also, yes. The soldering is absolutely necessary for yhe integrity of the object... if it wasn't soldered, it would fall apart eventually after sun/air + moisture exposure etc if you just glued it. Even if you kept it inside.. though I'm sure there are industrial glues that would keep it together, I'm not sure how pretty it would look.. another plus of the solder is that is looks pretty as well imo. So idk. Good luck though.. there is a lot of information out there about this, &just do your due diligence and be safe! ❤

I did stained glass in highschool and these sounds make my memories of that class come back! Also thank you for dampening the sound of the grinder knowing how loud it really is in person. It’s loud. 😍

How does the solder not run off of the lines 👀 I want this to be my next hobby and don’t know where to start lol
@feniaksfirings3 ай бұрын
The surface tension keeps the solder on the copper - you would have to melt a lot of solder to get it to run off

@@mcegypt20 I started doing it one month ago thanks to her info and tips, and I am enjoying it very much! Last weekend finally dared to try this pattern and have been working on it. Looks amazing! I'm so happy! I just have to solder it and I think is a good exercise for soldering long lines. Always wanted to do stained glass and I am so happy I came across this channel, everything she does is so beautiful that it keeps me motivated to continue learning.

Watching this is actually more relaxing than a massage 🥰 Did some of them have bigger gaps between pieces because it was nobbly glass? or was it deliberate to attach the stem holder?

Why not use clear silicon glue to make it seamless? Is it necessary to use a copper file and solder?
@ItzAzo3 ай бұрын
Making it seamless would make it redundant to cut all the pieces 😂 it would be a clear egg shape instead of a wing
