Hey, thank you so much! We primarily do TikTok under the same name these days, but we do try to share everything that's useful to this channel as well! :D

I never would have thought to mix wax and hot glue. Now I’m inspired to melt things make pretty messes!

Oh, goodness, bless that danged algorithm; I'm so glad to find this channel because of the broad (ahem) *spectrum* of crafting topics being covered here. I've been following Steady Crafting with the Crafs Man since the beginning but have been a little bummed by how soecialized his stuff has gotten with the injection molding. Please keep up the balanced diet and I'll stay hydrated, broski.

Thanks to you i feel less guilty about buying a wax stamp now lol. Please do post the caryon method on your channel as well! I also wonder if i can melt a candle without wick and hot glue together to make wax?
@SpectrumDIY11 ай бұрын
Yes you could do that too! Be careful of scents though, it's possible it might bleed into the paper, but it should work just fine And the crayon video is posted, but it's a bit further back, it was posted March 20th. I'll try to post it to featured videos

love the demo! And yes staying hydrated is always important. I have a melter that looks to be that same size(originally from a hair waxing kit that I discovered was a nightmare to use, so it now sits in a box), is there a place you can buy just the silicone liner itself?
@SpectrumDIY Жыл бұрын
I got my liners from Amazon but you can find them also on eBay💚

time to seal my letters with this!

Heck yeah! Just a heads up, the postal service requires them to be dropped off and hand sorted if they've got a seal on the outside, we use them for our thank you notes that go inside sticker orders.

Hello! Could I use something else besides hot glue sticks?
@SpectrumDIY3 ай бұрын
It's possible to use only wax, but it'll be really brittle. I'm not sure what alternatives to hot glue there are, but I'm sure there's a few options 😊
@Gail-Perkins3 ай бұрын
@SpectrumDIY thank you. If you see any out there please let me know. I live in a resource-poor country and would love a from-scratch option if there is any. I have looked a lot and not found one so far. I wanted to make the wax seals for a close relative's milestone party invitations. We have a very small budget if I'm being completely honest and I would be so grateful to you if you could send any such recipes our way. Stay blessed😊

www.gluegunsdirect.com/2019/04/how-are-hot-glue-sticks-made/ Okay, so I don't know if this will help or not, but after some digging I found this article that talks about how glue sticks are made and gives an ingredient list. I don't know the quantities of each, but I do know if that melt those down together, definitely avoid the fumes, but it looks like it's possible.

It looks like these are the ingredients at a glance. EVA (Ethylene Vinyl Acetate), APAO (Amorphous Poly Alpha Olefin), and PA (Poly Amides). Various tackifiers are also incorporated in these hot melt glue sticks. A quick search brought up "EVA is one of the materials popularly known as expanded rubber or foam rubber. EVA foam is used as padding in equipment for various sports such as ski boots, bicycle saddles, hockey pads, boxing and mixed-martial-arts gloves and helmets, wakeboard boots, waterski boots, fishing rods, and fishing-reel handles." I hope this helps

@SpectrumDIY hey! A million thanks! I could experiment with natural resins and gum arabic or other expanders, which are cheaper where I'm from. I'll let you know if I've had any success with that❤️❤️
