As somebody who works in a library I have to say it is really appreciated when people openly recommend and support using public libraries. The library I work at is packed almost every single day but still so many people believe that libraries are dying out. I think it is especially important for kids to have access to a library as it promotes tons of development in not just reading skills but social skills as well. I never really had an appreciation for books until I started working in a library. It truly is an amazing place that everyone should have the chance to visit.

Absolutely loved this, love seeing Rift's nerdy side. I remember staying the night at a friend's house, and he had a kid brother, probably around five or six at the time. My mate fell asleep, and I was still wide awake, and I went walking around the house, and found a load of the kid's books downstairs, as I believe his parents had read to him downstairs to make him fall asleep and put him to bed (as like most kids, you put 'em in PJ's, and the little bastards suddenly go into overdrive). I sat there and read all the books, and loved it. Something about reconnecting with the kid I used to be, reading quite a few familiar stories was a really pleasant and calming experience. Tl;dr: You're never too old to read a kid's book. Also, wee little side note, and this is not meant to sound rude or bitchy or anything at all, but Christine's surname in Phantom is pronounced 'die-ay'. Just trying to save you from any potential faux pas. Don't want Rift looking like a goof, when we know he's a wise sage.

The Blade Runner game for PC was an amazing point and click detective adventure. It was very true to the movie, and allowed you to explore the world and try to identify replicants. It had many multiple outcomes based on choices you had to make in the game. I think it came out in the late 90's.

ROTS is the best SW movie
@s.storumus86205 жыл бұрын
NeonWolfen I have said this before and I will say it again: you can like the prequels, but you can't say with a straight face the ROTS is better than the original trilogy. You may like it more than the originals, but in filmmaking wise it is just untrue. Every exposition scene is shot and blocked in a bland way, there is even more CGI, the acting still isn't good. It is miles better than Menace and Clones, but it isn't as good as the original 3. Honestly I can relate to liking something that is underrated. Chamber of Secrets is my favourite Harry Potter movie, but I can admit that Prisoner of Azkaban is the best, even though Chamber is my personal favourite. But ROTS is isn't as good as the originals in film language. Watch the Mr Plinkett review of ROTS, specifically the part where he talks about cinematography and visual symbolism. You may not agree with his opinion of the movie, but you can't honestly say that it is BETTER than the originals.

I loved always when my parents read books with me. I still remember those times. I also enjoyed it, when my parents quit doing it, when my grandma sat down on my bed to read for me. It was always calming and special. And if you read quietly it's something of an ASMR-Session. But what I think is important: Share the things you love with your children. If you enjoy horror books, try to find a (not-so-much-)horror book suited for children. I was actually thinking about it when you started talking about it... If I knew any horror books for children, and what such a book would look like (what I had to be careful about when attempting to write one). Children react to emotions, and if you are boored with the book, your children will not like it. Read them something you can enthusiastically enjoy a couple of times. And man... That must be one of the joys of parenthood people like to talk so much about.
