I just saw these today I just thought it was a callback to how matchbox cars used to be packed. I thought about pickin up the Shell SUV in both packagings just for fun.

Another note / detail on matchbox/ hotheeks Jeep gladiator castings. I picked up the green matchbox gladiator casting today and placed it with my other ones. I noted a colour pattern between the matchbox and hotwheels castings. They all have a red, blue, and now green colour one in there range. Just little detail I would like to point for those not getting all of the Jeep gladiator castings.

Mitsubishi 3000GT, Mazda MX-5, Ford Interceptor Utility and the Dodge Durango (even though it seems it has no interior) are the highlights of the first 2022 Matchbox Mix for me. The Kurtis Sports car is interesting, as it has an extra piece wich is not usual for $1 models. Thanks for the unboxing and the presentation.

i think the Kurtis Sport Car has ended up being my favorite from this batch. Love the uniqueness of it.

That kurtis sports car is nice. The extra piece makes it work. Interesting to see it being used again or just being a one off casting. I gave most of these. The Mitsubishi 3000 gt is impressive vfor the price point. I am hoping that a recolour is in the works. The ford explorer casting nicely done and i have a lot of them. Matchbox is hitting a home run this year. I like them better then hotwheels. Not to say the hotwheels are bad but the range that Matchbox has is impressive. The next wave looks good as well.

Yeah Matchbox has definitely been putting out some good stuff. I have 2022 Mix 2 on its way to me now and just found Mix 2 of Moving Parts in store and they've really stepped up on that series too.

Would be nice if the plastic blisters went away but I doubt that will happen. Still glad to see they at least got rid of the plastic bag they used to use inside the box.

I have most of these already pretty cool pieces in the mix this time round I mainly by basic Matchbox Hot Wheels to do wheel swaps nowadays but I still think matchbox is doing better than Hot Wheels as I don't care much for all the novelty stuff and bright colours 👍👍👍

Hot Wheels does a great job too but I sure wouldn't want to try to be a completionist with all the fantasy stuff they put out. For mainline releases it really is hard to beat Matchbox though.

If the less-desirables have a lower distribution weighting, then based on what’s left on the pegs at my local Walmarts, they pushed through hundreds of cases! There maybe a hundred ice cream trucks and another few dozen speed traps collecting dust from 2021. Nice video! Love the box and reveal. We aren’t lucky enough to get the true Matchbox match boxes near me.

The problem was that there were 3 of those speed trappers in the case, same with the white food truck and the silly self driving bus. Guaranteed peg warmers and any store that got more than one case ended up with pegs clogged with the stuff no one wanted and no room for new stuff. That was foolish of Matchbox which is why I highlighted the distribution in this case which is much better and hopefully means they've learned from those mistakes.

Those tampos - especially the head and tail lights - are pretty impressive for a $1 car. The Kurtis is puzzling...an extra component? Wow. Thanks for showcasing them Karl.

Yeah some of the mixes last year were really bad, i.e. the cases that had 3 speed trappers, 3 food trucks and 3 self driving buses. This is why I highlighted the mix in this case as it is much more reasonable.

@@StingerDiecast Hi Karl. My local supermarket had 2 unopened boxes of these in store, so was able to get my hands on all the good ones. Also picked up the Hot Wheels Ford Sierra Cosworth as well. A great casting. Aussie Road Ragers have released a new series of cars as well and was able to get 12 new ones, should arrive by mid next week. Include some Utes, Police cars, Panel Vans and a new Touring car in Light Blue. Mostly Fords but a couple of Holdens in there as well. Can't wait. Have a few new Biante's coming on Monday as well. Yeah the powergrabs are more rare. Target doesn't sell them at all in the US and if Walmart gets them it's unusual. Kroger affiliates like Frys Foods are usually the places I've seen them in my area.

I like the idea of the package being recyclable. But that doesn’t mean it gets recycled. In my region, anything smaller than your hand falls through the sorting machines and is sent off to the landfill. At least it’ll break down there as opposed to the plastic. Which is so low grade that it’s not even recycled. Sad. So much packaging...
