Great video!!! Just enough protection to keep it safe! I just packed my first sale today and I used so much packing material you could drop it out of a plane and it wouldn't break!! 😆 I definitely overdid it watching how you packed your items! Plus packing materials cost money! Thanks.
@AvanteAvenue2 жыл бұрын
Glad you enjoyed! Better to overpack than under! “Visualizing” dropping it out if a plane is about right these days! I rarely have more than $1-2 in cost in supplies for larger or bulk items. The links in my video descriptions are the best prices (and quality) I can find to date for bubble wrap etc. A good investment vs. refunding for damaged items. And, USPS rarely pays out claims these days. They actually told me that they deny every claim upon first submission! They make it very difficult. Better to pack well to make sure it’s carrier proof. LOL. Thanks! 🙂❤️👍

You always make this look so easy, and I guess it really is but it stresses me out to pack things. Guess I just need to take a chill pill and get more organized, that would probably help the organizational part ;)
@AvanteAvenue2 жыл бұрын
Organization does help. Also having a lots of packing materials available. Packing is simply a process, one step at a time. After you pack something and figure out how you want to do it, it’s so much easier the next time when you have a similar item. 🙂❤️👍

Where do you find so many things at 25 to 50 cents? Even Goodwill and Salvation Army charge a couple dollars for most things. Yard sales?
@AvanteAvenue3 жыл бұрын
We shop primarily garage sales and church rummage sales. We stock up in the summer months. We try to shop Goodwill mostly off season. We also shop the ReStore. Good question! 🙂❤️👍
@shelliecornatzer3 жыл бұрын
@@AvanteAvenue Thank you. I need to find a good way of finding garage sales around here, I don’t want to just aimlessly drive around looking for them and not finding them often listed on Craigslist.
@AvanteAvenue3 жыл бұрын
Church rummage sales are really good. You can find a lot of stuff in one place. 👍

I've learned so much watching your packing videos. At what point do you weigh your items? I haven't found a way to list an item without putting in the weight and box dimensions. I usually end up pre-packaging the item to get that info prior to listing, but that seems backwards and inefficient. Any advice?
@AvanteAvenue Жыл бұрын
I always weigh when listing and estimate the box to be 2-3” larger than the dimensions of my item. I have a list of my box sizes. This video might be helpful for you: ebay CALCULATED Shipping USPS Priority Mail | How to Tutorial | ebay ReSeller kzbin.info/www/bejne/nKuamZSNrZKjb7s Thanks!

Vickie, I only have small bubble wrap right now. Is the large bubble wrap absolutely necessary? I'm shipping a Yankee Candle and a coffee mug (separately)
@AvanteAvenue2 жыл бұрын
I use 1/2-in large bubble wrap when I pack fragiles. Most small bubble wrap is 3/16”. It would take 3 sheets of small bubble to be slightly over 1/2-in. With that said, since I only use large bubble wrap (large bubble wrap is not all the same, many brands are less than 1/2-in), I cannot advise as to what your results might be. Especially, since I also add additional layers of 1/2-in bubble in my box. The goal is to have 1-2” (I often try for 2”) of additional packing around the item. That packing could be other material that you have available. I hope this helps. Trust you instinct and remember that your item needs to survive a minimum 6ft drop. 🙂❤️👍

Do you always ship priority mail?
@AvanteAvenue Жыл бұрын
USPS 1st class or Priority. Very rarely UPS or FedEx. 🙂❤️👍
@silveradoscrc Жыл бұрын
What about ground select. It looks to be a bit cheaper even when you add $1.70 for insurance.
@AvanteAvenue Жыл бұрын
Too slow for us. The buyer pays the shipping and I think it’s best to get there fast. Especially, since we sell a lot of fragile items.
