Ok, lifting the color out after leaving the water there for a minute...game changer! That's is a great tip!

Thank you, Sarah! I love how mine turned out!! Just wondering...if you wanted to make it a 'complete' picture, what would you do for the rest of the page? A background in greens that maybe hint at trees? Thank you! :)

I don’t have the sketch or a printer so I’ve been having to draw all of the outlines. They aren’t a perfect match but they are mine.

The headband looks good on you. And your art is awesome. I hope I don’t get too old to paint. I wish I’d started earlier, but life was 25/8. I love learning and painting watercolor!

Wondering why you don't use a colored pen to trace so that you can see where you are, i.e., what still needs to be traced?
@elisabruxvoort21902 жыл бұрын
usually she does! I think she just grabs whatever is nearby.
@LetsMakeArt2 жыл бұрын
Sarah does recommend using watercolor colored pencils to trace with so that the colors blend into the watercolors while you're painting. She also will use a graphite pencil to trace so that the outline is light and doesn't stand out too strong.

@@LetsMakeArt I meant when she traces on a piece of paper with the graphite behind it.

I asked my son who is going o to do a Chemistry degree why dropping paint onto a wet surface makes the paint colour. He used a lot if technical terms but to translate.... Water, H2O, is made if up of hydrogen and oxygen. One has a postive charge the other a negative. He said the the pigment obviously has a charge so is pulled to water, this keeps the paint more intense in that area. The two charges are the reason water forms in droplets too when attracted together. That's the basic explanation I could understand of anyone wants a more technical explanation let me know and I will ask him again.

Sorry should read why dropping paint into a wet surface makes the paint colour more intense.
@rebeccamoody74002 жыл бұрын
Maybe the better quality pigment the more intense the colour will be, I don't know but it might vary depending in the paints. An investigation for someone ...
