That is a beautiful GREEN painting!! I LOVE it! I think you were being too hard on yourself, as you said 🙂. I love the green and I think there is something magical that happens when we create art in nature. I think all the colours and what we're actually seeing become amplified whether the colours are bright and bold ( as you used) or they are muted. Nature inadvertently takes control of our creative tool and is leading us...that's why you question whether or not the result of what you created is really you. You saw what you saw and especially felt (that's nature talking to you) and then you painted it 🙂. It's a beautiful and soothing piece Katie!

This was such a lovely comment to read, thank you so, so much! You're so right - I always feel different when I'm creating in nature and can be completely mindful in the process. I think because we remove ourselves from other distractions and we only have the art to focus on! I really love what you said about nature taking control of our creative tool - so true!! 😍

Thank you for taking us on your sketching adventure. I tend to use acrylic inks in journaling as splashes for backgrounds but I have painted with them once. I mixed on the page and it came out a bit of a mess but I definitely want to try painting with them again.

I am looking to get a few acrylic inks to get a sense of whether I like it as a medium. What colors would you recommend as a starter set? Does a set of three primary colors + black + white make sense? Would love to hear your thoughts!

Yes 100%! That's what I started with - a yellow, red, blue and the white and black. I rarely use the black actually (it came in the set!) but could make the colours I needed most with the others and it was really helpful to start with! Definitely makes sense and a great way to try the medium 😄
