Beautiful painting! In Florida we often see sunsets with these colors - I’m rarely up early enough to catch the sunrises. You are saying ‘fronds’ correctly. There are many species of palm trees in Florida with the prettiest ones, IMO, in south Florida. The trunks are smoother, not rough and prickly. You see many of this type inside malls. Where I live in central Florida, many of us have some type of palm tree in our yards, not nearly as nice as the ones you see in and around beach areas. So happy to have had one of your videos ( sea turtle) show up on my KZbin feed. I’m hooked. 😄

Sarah, what you did with the fronds is genius. You're so good.

I’m obsessing over the technique for these clouds! Absolutely love the wash and clouds! Having a difficult time with the larger palm trees, definitely need to practice more. Thank you for a great tutorial!

I had a rough time with the sky in the Sunrise project so I forced myself to try this one. It turned out so fun. As a native to Kansas and current Colorado resident, we don't really have palm trees around. This transported me to another place for an hour. Great job, Sarah! And PS, I will be doing that Sunrise project again soon. I even have the sun masked off and ready to go!

You've got this Mandy! Hopefully some of the lessons learned from this tutorial can help make that one less frustrating.

This was so much FUN ! I used what we learned in the tropical sunset tutorial to make better trees. Really happy with how it turned out.

Beautiful! Could you include a 1" Wash Brush in one of the boxes, Teach us techniques to paint everything with the one brush, and do this for all four Projects. This Project is one good candidate...

Keenan that while “raining while the sun is out” thing happens here in Alabama too. I didn’t realize how strange it is until my friend from NY was boggled that she needed sunglasses while the windshield wipers were on 😂

love to follow your tutorials and love to feel I am there with you guys. Out of curiosity, do you ever get bored or tired of doing watercolor all the time. I dont know if its just me but after a while I like to use or try different mediums.
@LetsMakeArt3 жыл бұрын
Not at all. It can't hurt to play with other mediums though. Find what speaks to you and go for it.

After spending 20 years in Florida, sitting here laughing at Sarah's description of how palm fronds grow and how many there are per tree. Yet she still gets the main ideas across for the visual.

Curious as to why the background palms weren’t light or faded in color compared to the foreground trees?
@dgswatercolor3 жыл бұрын
Maybe it’s because they’re in silhouette? so you’re seeing the shadow/outline of the trees and not the color of the trees
@LetsMakeArt3 жыл бұрын
Artistic choice. You could definitely do them lighter to give a true sense of perspective.
