You can easily get it today for VERY cheap. eBay, stuff like that. You could get it right now if you want! Just go to Google, search Blinx 2, go to 'shopping' . It will definitely be there, garunteed. I have even checked it myself and a lot of people are selling it. Just if you want it soon, just get it now!(if you have an Xbox 360, that's fine, because it either has a hard drive already, or u can buy a hard drive. Xbox360 hard drives let you play orginal Xbox games on 360)

Same, although its "had" in my case. Me and my brother played Blinx together along with awesome other games like Jet Set Radio Future and Otogi. My brother emulated Legacy of Kain a while ago; I'm in this mood right now of pursuing ends to play games i used to play with him... so basically emulating classics somehow.

I think that blinx 2 was better than the first because the time crystals in general were handled a LOT better, AND introduced the ability to combine time powers together, AND while the enemy designs are a bit grittier and darker than the originals for no reason, they do serve a better purpose and intergrate TIME POWERS With the monsters, giving them shields based on what time power you need to defeat them.

There were definitely improvements, as one might hope to see in a sequel, but I won't entirely agree on the crystal collection. Some tweaking could have helped, but I very much like actually having to think about what I'm picking up. That aside, though, I do enjoy the time control combos (with as little use as they actually have), and making time monsters related to controls, especially the pause dragon, was a nice touch. I think the primary issue I have with this game in comparison to the previous is the loss of atmosphere from trying to be gritty and dramatic and just falling on its face due to low budget for voice acting and animation. Get rid of the grit and add a higher budget, and you'd probably have a game that'd outperform the first in some pretty huge ways, even if it still isn't all of them.

Well, I do think that dumbing down the crystal collection did help the game a lot, in the first game I got very frustrated because one fuck up and you've gotta restart the entire level, and I understand the thought that goes into collecting which adds a nice puzzle like touch to the game which I could see working in blinx TWO where monsters RESPAWN, but we shouldn't be expected to have to not only be sure we conserve the amount of time monsters we kill but ALSO the way we collect the crystals AT THE SAME TIME. I would have been fine with it if it were in the second game. I also like the flow of the game as well, it just works much better than the original since you activate time powers with just X instead of pausing the game to use a time power like the last game. Time's Minion Was it really an issue? Every case that I know of where you had to use a specific time control had that exact sort of crystal right next to it. It was pretty merciful in that regard. Otherwise, all you had to do was not pick up any crystals you didn't want. I think the pausing when using time controls actually could have been a nice addition if it allowed you to move the camera. That would've solved some issues some people had in cramped rooms full of enemies, but I got by well enough after developing some situational awareness, anyhow. The enemies have all sorts of audio cues. Without that, though, I do suppose it's a bit more convenient to just press a single button.

***** I know but sometimes it's hard to see where you are and as a resault I end up picking up the wrong crystals for no reason. I understand it adds a puzzle mechanic but I don't think we need to have a puzzle mechanic where we also need to keep track of what monsters we killed or else we'll have to restart the level. If blinx 2's crystal system where in the first game it would be fine, and vise versa. I myself thought it would be cool to instead of crystals, charge the powers and abilities via combos in a beat em up style game.

I never did have difficulties figuring out where I was - the only trouble I had was the annoying backflips and sideflips you could accidentally do, which led to me dying and losing crystals on a number of occasions (but amusingly saved me on my last retry against the final boss in my BLiNX 1 LP). I'm definitely happy the got rid of that. I tend to find beat 'em ups too monotonous, but I do like the general idea of having some sort of charged ability.

+Donte Salazar Interestingly enough, a lot of people have wondered that. Artoon shut down, so they don't have the rights to it anymore, but it went to Microsoft Studios instead (because they published the games). I don't entirely remember, but I believe they said something along the lines of "we don't sell rights to any material unless we haven't used it in 20 years," but don't quote me on that.

I just noticed something. The game NEVER explains why in the opening sequence the cats who didn't initiate the pause (everyone who wasn't Blinx) aren't paused themselves. But when the TomTom Gang members use a time grenade somehow the cats ARE affected. Since this game seems to be a bit heavier on the plot I would've wanted that to be covered at some point.

I think they are green because they use the power of the time to REC themself. In the first level of the first blinx game they say that when you use REC you are invincible.

I'm watching this as my sister just pulled out the old xbox and started playing Blinx 2 again. Blinx has a special place in our family as one of the main games we played together. (and yet no one will play with me in vs mode because I'm too good) Despite it being a mediocre game and the little annoying things, the charm just keeps me stuck to this franchise. :P (can't drawing cute time sweepers ugh) Nice commentary btw.

+Dial Upp (DialUp) I love Blinx 2. It has some really cool things that make it an all time favourite for me. But I don't ignore the flaws it has: it's too easy, you don't play as Blinx (character customisation is cool, but playing as Blinx would be so much cooler), the story is lacks substance for you to really get into it and other things. But it's still awesome for what it does well. :)

YYYYAAAAYYYY! I didn't realize how much I wanted this until you started playing it! My brother and I were huge fans of Blinx 1. We never beat it, because it was so hard. But when they released the second, with Co-op, it was like a dream come true. But after beating it the first day we got it, I realized just how disappointed I was with the game. Is that Quinton Flynn voicing Blinx and that dude who voiced colonel Richard Ames in MGS2 voicing CEO? Also I completely disagree on the animation being on par with Sonic 06. that is simply not true. Sonic 06 uses mocap which Blinx clearly doesn't, for one, and you're comparing pre-rendered cutscene from Blinx to the on-engine cutscenes of Sonic 06. Pre-rendered S06 cutscenes look amazing even now. The thing that's actually reminding you of S06 is the blank faces and mouth flaps that makes the character look like puppets instead of real characters. Even then S06 direction is far superior and more interesting to watch.

I could never get past the first part of the Tom-Tom gang though, I aced the trials but not the first part and I always wanted to achieve that and now I can't. (Sad face) :(

Kelly Reynolds Get an Xbox 360 and a hard drive for it if it doesn't already have one. If you put an original Xbox disc in a 360 that has a hard drive, it will work. If you don't still have the copy of the game, order it online. You know, eBay and that kind of thing. After you have all of this, your good to go. (Oh and Blinx 2 is VERY cheap, which is nice.)

Yep, this is sure to be fun ^_^ I'm hoping that I'll be able to get a hold of RKO to do a few levels of Specialist Mode multiplayer, and I'm still thinking that I may ONE DAY make a guide of all the cat medals (and maybe even A or S runs) in the first game, but I want to get the ultimate sweeper and bright set first. So that'll be a long ways off, if I ever do it. Even if I don't do those things, though, I'm glad that you've enjoyed my playthrough of my favourite game series of all time.

Actually, this game is from 2004, Sonic 06 is from 2006, so it's just 2 years difference, i suppose it's nothing strange that the animation is similar in both games. Anyways, that was the beginning of the 7th generation, so things were probably still being developed as far as graphics and stuff.

***** Time differences seem a lot bigger when you only play stuff from 2005 or earlier :u Especially when you hardly touch any systems past the Xbox, too. I could probably give a more in-depth analysis of what Blinx's animation was like compared to other things from the same time and earlier, along with the same for Sonic 06 (and some context on its development), but it probably wouldn't help much at this point.

difficulty changes the amount of hits some enemies take, and changes some of the "puzzles".

I'm kinda curious what it'd change with them. It's weird for there to be such an unexplored aspect of a game that I've put so much time into knowing intimately (as well as having found the two "Bromide" extras, which I've never seen anywhere on the internet).

i actually just watched your first tom-tom mission. the lasers pause in certain configurations to let you though in easy, and in normal, more guards spawn after you flip the master alarm switch.

I freakin' love this series! One of the most nostalgic Christmases I had was getting this game. I played this game all the way through at least 3 times. God, I love this! On a semi-related note, is Pelon a guy or a girl? I honestly can't tell considering the sweeper's voice. If Pelon's a guy, that makes the minor Sonic fan character I used for 5 seconds named after Pelon who was a female cat somewhat awkward... :S

Silver Maxus Heh, if only I was able to get my two friends to be a bit more willing to co-commentate, I'd do something similar. BLiNX playthroughs have actually been popping up a decent bit as of late, which I can't say that I mind. I've always hoped that the series would get more attention, and I'm currently working on producing some more BLiNX 1 content (showing off all of the sweepers and costumes as well as cat medal locations and A+ time strategies) as my own sort of tribute. After that, it looks like I'll be doing the same for the Klonoa series, but BLiNX will likely always remain my favourite. Well, at least we have Catherine to fill the slot of a female character. She's the only non-human(ish) female in the entire series, isn't she?

Supposedly, the reason this series is exclusive to the Xbox is because of its internal hard drive for time controls such as rewind. I do think that being on another system would've done it some good in regards to publicity, though.

You realize that normal is the highest difficulty, right? It defaults to easy, too, I believe. I've got a co-op playthrough on this channel if you can put up with our sense of humour, by the way. We do the specialist mode, where each of the two players has different abilities to force cooperation.

Go ahead, so long as you give credit in some place or another (discretely tucked away in the description is fine). And I view time control in games as a really fun idea that's just damned hard to pull off, sort of like Graffiti Kingdom's free-reign creature creation system. It's amazing if the developers manage it, but too many are afraid of it not working out and just don't do it at all. I'd love to see it used to its full potential with modern technology.

***** To be fair time manipulation is an AMAZINGLY FUN thing to work with for the player. But I can only imagine it is HELL on the developers to make it work. As much as I would like to see it more often in some games it would simply be over powered *imagine in for example halo if you paused time and walked up behind enemies for free assassinations. The challenge is gone*. It would be a heck of alot of fun in a fully destructible environment. Imagine the havoc you could wreak *or unwreak* X-D But once again... that would be a pain to develop.

I'm not aware of any existing Xbox emulators - I play this on my 360. My laptop probably couldn't run this, anyways. I also don't know how to play other-region or backup discs on an Xbox, so I can't even recommend burning the ISO to a DVD-R or anything. I don't really know how to help, but looking up how to play backup games on an Xbox online might be fruitful to some degree.
