Thanks for this play through. I personally really enjoy this game. I agree that the player doesn’t get to make many decisions but I equate this to watching a movie. I enjoy seeing what’s going to happen to my corvette and convoy as the game takes me through the Atlantic crossing. I know it’s not for everyone but I enjoy this game.

Thanks for the review. When I started watching I was going to buy, but your review saved me from a purchase that would sit on my shelf.

I'm glad it was helpful! Always my goal, whether a person buys a game or doesn't, I just want people to be informed.

Nice video as always. However, I did feel your frustration with the rule book and inconsistent terminology. e.g. Close Range/Short range. I personally don't like the muiltitude of different dice and the active/passive table. I've only used a fraction of it to be honest. Not sure how you get up to 20! I would prefer a table for each process and calculated accordingly as a % with DRM as applicable. . The rule book is hard to follow espcially as the flow chart is also wrong. I must have liked it as I had the pnp version and now purchased the full box version. Not sure why now. It was rather expensive for the contents, especially a paper map and mis-aligned counters. There's a good game in there somewhere I think..

I have many of the same criticisms, Russ. I talk about them more in my review that just went up.

One more comment. You made the same mistake I did when I first played the game. Your HMS Teacup shouldn’t have been sunk, at least on that turn. After every u boat attack ( torpedo launch) the u boat attempts to disengage to outside long range to reload, and if successful, then returns to its attack range for a second or third attack, disengaging after each separate attack. All the while you are attempting to detect it. The 1 you rolled should have given you a detection as the u boat attempted to disengage, not a torpedo launch. There was a pretty good discussion about this on Board Game Geek.

Another example of the poor rulebook in action. But thanks.

Have the game, was disappointed in what i feel was a lack of agency as the player. Very limited decisions to make as player. Would say it is okay if you want a quick dice chucked.
