I have leanrt so much from you today Thank you for sharing and showing us so many wonderful ways to use foils. I have previously been kinda scared to try foiling but now can't wait to 'play' as well! I make cards for residents at an ages care facility and this foiling technique will help me make more special cards for them They love to have home made cards to give to their family members and friends. Now they will have some very stunning cards soon So thank you for your clear and wonderfuly friendly video.

You are so welcome Julie! What a great way to share your craft and I too struggled with foiling and am so happy to be able to work through the wins and mistakes with you so that we can both learn. Honestly I am just a little addicted right now and I'm so glad you will join me too lol.

What a great & informative video! I’ve done some toner foiling in the past with a laminator- very inconsistent results. I came across a Minc at a really great price too and couldn’t resist. At the time it cost significantly less than the mini, so I got it. It is huge! That was a while ago and haven’t even played yet. Now I’m definitely inspired! After you showed us your swatch card with the 3D clear foil I had to pause the video and follow the link to Crafty Critta! I’m in the US and never ordered from AU before so have no idea how long it will take to arrive, but I’m excited for when it does! Like you, I got a bit giddy when you revealed some of the items! I’m gaga over the flower powers & the 3D. Although I didn’t just stop at ordered those particular foils (oops!). My mouth dropped when you were able to foil over the embossed stamp image using the Minc - I had no idea! Several years ago some one came out with a glue pad (like an ink pad) that was supposed to work for foiling- but it wasn’t very effective & was pretty messy. This method was awesome! I hope you have a safe & wonderful holiday!

I will say that when using toner sheets etc, the fresher they are the better they work. As the toner ages, it starts to go patchy/streaky.

Fun video, Therese. Ooo, that hot pink and the clear foiling is amazing! I dropped my minc machine last week while cleaning (I knew that cleaning was a bad idea), it broke the housing off. So glad it arrived safe and sound. My apologies it was later than I planned to send it but we were flooded in for a few days and didn't have any internet either. So I couldn't let you know. We live on a hill so our house is okay. And we did manage to get away on holidays. I am now catching up on my messages on the internet at a B&B on the Yorke penninsula. We did have to change the way we travelled as the roads out West were flooded as well, but we were happy to get away as planned and feeling very lucky knowing how much others have lost.

can you use any glue, and why do you need to let it dry?
@lostinpaper2 жыл бұрын
Great tip, thanks so much!
@rebeccah16352 жыл бұрын
I think you have to let it dry enough to get tacky. The foiling won’t stick to a glue while the glue is wet (vs sticky). I’m not sure if all kinds of glue works, but you could try!

Great. i love Minc foiling videos :) Simon Hurley had a fascinating video just yesterday. He foiled a stamped image that he had heat embossed with clear embossing powder. I tried it and it works. I need to play a bit with it to get it perfected, but it is very interesting and very promising. If you are interested check Simon's video from yesterday.

Yes I only found out about this technique recently from Lisa Arana (Dahl-House Designs) on her video and tried a quick version myself at the end of this video. she also used her Glimmer to add toner foil which was brilliant, so I must try this myself too. Thanks for the heads up about Simon's video, I think he's amazing and love his style so will definitely check it out!

@@lostinpaper Oh, I thought I saw your whole video, but I missed that you tried it. I'll look for Lisa's video. I don't quite understand how she used her glimmer to add toner foil, but I am sure I will after I see the video. Thanks for the extra info. And quite a few months ago I made a purchase from Crafty Critta and love their foil. I pretty much have a lifetime supply. I hope it doesn't have a shelf life!
@lostinpaper2 жыл бұрын
@@olivia8979 I don't think the foil itself has a shelf life but someone did say that the toner sheets can get 'old' and may not work as well... but truly I think as long as they weren't left out in the sun they should be fine for YEARS, so I think you are A-Okay lol. Yes, it was interesting to see her 'toner'' foil on the glimmer I had to watch it twice myself!
