I love Adell, he is such a fun character And it's the first Disgaea protagonist to use a different weapon than a sword at the start of the game. The only problem is that sometimes the music of the game can be a little to loud comparing with the voice acting.

Meh it's a nice change up, though it's fun to give the MC's of later games different weapons when you want to spice things up.

I like how the Tutorial has Adell and Rozalin do a combo, even though at this point in the game, they can't successfully do one (it's based on story progress. The first three chapters, it's 0%, but starting with Episode 4, it steadily increases until it reaches a respectable 70%. They also don't have any of the normal modifiers to that chance, so it'll always be 70% late game)

I think disgaea games are perfect for your kind of LPs since you can avoid almost any grinding with some good knowledge and long term planning. Looking foward to this series!

@HCBailly the reason they display the button as an Xbox controller is because the most common plug and play controller is an Xbox 360 wired gamepad. It's even to the point where companies Amazon use the ABXY buttons in the manner that Xbox has theirs set up to make gaming easier on people that are new to PC gaming. (since they do not want to make people learn 3-4 different PC controller layouts like the different consoles!)

@HCBailly BTW you can set a button to 1-click Execute, End Turn, or Lift (it picks up the unit that character's facing toward) in the PC version.

Aw yis. Disgaea 2. I hate admitting it, I tried playing through this game like 3 times but I kept getting distracted and not finishing! I'm a bad fan T_T. My favorite disgaea game. I have my save on my memory card on ps2. I wanted to do everything in this game, but the ranged made it a lot more harder and need more time than i have to use... Still, this is my favorite plot, lots of secrets, lots of fun, lots of twists! Cant wait to see your million episodes if youre going to do all!

Finally, been waiting for this one. I actually played this Disgaea, myself. Unlike last time where I watched your Disgaea LP blind. Only the main story, didn't delve too deep into post game. Voices seem a little quiet though. Don't suppose you've got generic slots to be filled :^).

Oh, man. I've been looking forward to this. I'll be playing along on my PS2 version (which means no bonus extras for me, unfortunately). Hmm... Maybe if the Steam version goes on sale in the near future, I might get that. (5:55) That "Stay away from the summoner!" clip never gets old.

This was the first Disgaea game I beat, because the first game kicked my ass too much, and in fact this might still be my favorite in the series, but 4 gets pretty close. Also, you can't play it on PS3 in Europe because because re-releasing old games is hard I guess.

Unlike the other Disgaea games, this is the only one where I didn't get into the post-game much because I screwed the flow so much. I broke into the Dark world at level 6 in Episode 2 using poison and run tactics. Random Dark World triggers going off (IIRC) tired me out, and then the next game in the pseudo series came out. Took a while for me to get a PS3, so I had the energy to get back into the series (and platinums) at that point from there.

I was hoping that you would do the DLC they are technically boss fights and I actually have the DLC. I don't think you should use the characters you get out of it though.

FWIW the DLC doesn't work on the Vita. You can get it onto the system via a PS3, the game knows it's there, but it won't allow you to access it.

Disgaea 2 is probably my favorite Disgaea game, simply because it's the easiest to get really op in by the end of the game. Later Disgaea's make it harder and harder to reincarnate and Evilities get a bit hard to keep track of who has what when it comes to enemies.

OMG you should get Marona from Chartreuse Gale because she's the most adorable little girl ever! ...Don't actually do that, though. I'm not sure how her Confine ability would work in this game. I believe in Disgaea 4, she could only use it to summon her buddy Ash, but in Disgaea D2 she could use it to essentially revive ANY dead party members, and give them a stat boost. I have no idea how she works in this version of the game.

Just read up. Apparently she doesn't have that ability here, but something about Magichanging to boost her stats, and her having S rank with staves and some of the highest INT and RES in the game.

I'm REALLY REALLY excited to see you play through this one HCBailly. The amount of content and battle mechanic refinements are a pretty huge jump from D1, but I found myself really loving this game. Are you going to play Disgaea D2 by any chance as it is also a direct sequel to the first game.

PC is designed by Microsoft so it doesn't recognize gamepads not designed by Microsoft or for the PC itself, so when you emulate your ps3 controller, it considered it to be an xbox 360 controller. This is with any PC game that uses gamepads.
