As far as I'm aware, LC units cannot be upgraded. It's a trade-off from their self-repair ability. Fang can pretty much solo this mission, and it's usually what I do. Have him hang around the foot of the rise and intercept the ED, and so long as you keep him on the move, he can handle a whole group on his own. At about half way to max XP, he'll be one-shotting Pamirs. Heck, sometimes if I'm feeling bold I'll have him lay siege to the ED base, while the girls hang back at base. Sometimes I'll bring along the rocket-armed units just for fire support, but otherwise they aren't necessary.

Don’t underestimate the value of early Fang XP grinding. While unguided rockets might only be viable against buildings, The Fang on the other hand, is your best bet against units (it’s even capable of Ion lockdowns if enough rounds hit a target). Regarding Fang’s terrible turret turning speed? You’ll have to point it in the direction you want defended.

Also, banners! Very handy, since they give +2 levels to nearby units (just have them on random lunar at the back of your force) , early on it's massive boost because it helps grind XP faster and later on You basically need lvl 8 for max veterancy to dish out full damage. IIRC it's extra crucial for LC, since it boost their hull regeneration. I'm not sure it's ever said in the game what they do, so people skip them, and I also did it for long time.

Why aren't you shutting off buildings' lights? It helps if you want to lure the enemy invaders away from your base and straight into your tanks which have their lights turned on. Also airplanes don't need their lights on.

Simply put, it didn't occur to me. The whole light mechanic never seemed all that impactful to me. I tend to think the ai already knows exactly where I am so being stealthy makes little sense.

@@LurkingLion stealthy tanks work even against the AI, but yes I also consider it vastly more usefull in PvP.

@@LurkingLion And turning off airplanes lights is cruicial as it protects them from being shot at when you ressuply your ammo.
