Something incredibly interesting with Nokron (and perhaps some other places) is the Topography. If you look at your map, and switch back and forth from the overworld to the underworld, it becomes apparent that these Eternal Cities did not get teleported beneath the earth: They were sunken in place exactly where they are on the map Beneath the Roots of the Erdtree. Sellia is a Town of sorcery...if you look at the Ainsel River Map from the Well it becomes apparrent that the Swamp of Aeonia and its Scar are in the exact place of a body of water that pools down from a river that matches up almost perfectly with the Aquaducts beneath them. When you were in Sellia, you spoke of the "ghosts" there as "ashes", but they are very much the same color or closer to: Puppets. The only Living Beings in Sellia? Nox. I think there is a lot of evidence to the idea that the Astrologers were the predicessors of the Sorcerers, not the Nox. I think there is a lot of evidence that the Nox were Highly sought after by the Sorcerers for their secrets. Nokron only has Silver Tears, and most of the Nox long dead. I think this is indicative that Sorcerers were willing to die for the secrets left in the town that surrounded the aquaduct city that once sat above what is now the Aeonian Swamp. I think this is indicative that the Sorcerers had Plenty of time to study the Silver Tears and their purpose, and I think in trying to recreate them, made the Albinaurics...and thus committed a heresy so great The Greater Will had no choice but to wage the first conflict against Raya Lucaria.

Truly BRILLIANT observation with the swamp of aeonia and the sinking of the eternal city. I also agree that the astrologers were the immediate predecessors to sorcerers, I swear there are several items that state this, not to mention that is the class a player would chose if they are going to play as a sorcerer.

@@elizabethcassidy8082 I am still pondering the nature of why certain classes are labeled the way they are...and I think it is directly tied to the timeline in either when abouts the Tarnished left the Lands Between. In which case I think just knowing what we do from history there is a strong case to make for the Nox and Numen being the same race but divided into massively different cultural aspects with the Nox (based on Latin for night as I know you know) being the Moon, and the Numen being the representation of the Sun. Although I did watch a really great video on an Alchemy Channel suggesting that Marika was more symbolically the element of Salt (Mercury-Moon....uh...the Sun 😆 🤣...and then the element of Salt is what is supposed to combine to form what's called the Regis)...which I like bc it makes my theory seem valid and that makes me happy LMAO 🤣 😀

On a personal note, I don't know if anyone actually did go down to see the comments in the GameSpot video, but I really started to understand where Dave's frustration comes from as a creator myself. Yknow, Dave, and everyone on here!...people like to judge your class for being independent, and then they like to judge you for who you get a job with, but...if you ever ask those detractors, "Well, what would you feel more comfortable with? Being on your own? Or a company?" Those detractors of yours will tell you, every single time, "With a company! It's secure!" But look at Dave's example you all! He is independent and he is so great at it he is with a company, and he worked his butt off to do it! This guy has harbored one of the most accepting and generously passionate groups of commentors and community! All of you make such wonderful comments, this whole message section is filled with secrets I would have never known without you all! And ideas that are so brilliant! I haven't read 1 single poorly thought out idea on this message board! And look! Dave gets to do what he loves for a company too, but...like I said, we are a callous society that too often prescribes the identity of a faceless corporation to the identity of a truly passionate creator. I think when Dave posts his next video for this playthrough we should all show him how many people really see him, and respect what a great place he's made for all of us to share our ideas about all the games we love through the FromSoft series! I think on the next video, no matter what, all of our 1st comments should be #ThanksDave! For real so many of those people in the GameSpot comments are a bummer....

Oh heck yeah, P5 city music in the intro! As for the "big dudes" in the chairs, I believe those are the referenced Nightmaidens. Seems like they are basically the equivalent of Finger Maidens for the Nox. What is interesting to consider (other than their huuuuuge size) is what their source of power would be (i.e. for example, Finger Maidens derive their power from the Two Fingers and thereby the Greater Will). As for Rennala, it's entirely possible that the combination of Radagon leaving and all her children fighting amongst each other (combined with being locked in that library) has driven her slightly mad. She may be birthing those creatures over and over again in an attempt to recapture her lost family.

The larval tear looks quite a lot like a foetus, my feeling is that when you are "reborn" through renalla, you are really being replaced by a modified silver tear imitation of yourself. I don't know, but it would make sense considering you need a new larval for each "rebirth." Maybe it's just a gameplay consideration. Also... the term "Maiden" as it was used in antiquity implied that a woman was still in possession of her "maidenhood" or her virginity, in other words. I love how From plays with very olde english in their games to obscure their references!

I remember you brought up a comment about how the grey symbol around the table of lost grace looks like an evergaol. I actually found that the pattern on the fire giant's plate weapon thing looks almost exact to the grey symbol, both of them have the same little circle pattern

I think you’re pretty spot-on with your theory of the albinaurics coming from silver tears. Slowly making my way theough my first playthrough and just got the blue silver set as drops: Chainmail armor crafted with blue silver. Worn by the wolf-riding Albinauric archers. Blue silver is a metal born from the same mother as the archers themselves, and provides protection from magic and frost. Albinauric also seems like it comes from the latin albin for “white” and aur-ic meaning “gold” and “pertaining to”. Pertaining to white gold, which is an alloy of gold and silver (or another lesser metal). There’s definitely more there, but there’s another piece of the puzzle. Don’t recall if this came up in comments before, so apologies if I’m repeating someone else’s conclusion!
@GoldenSharpee2 жыл бұрын
“pertaining to” or “of”. Albinaurics being literally “of white gold” is a little more on the nose eh?

How coincidental do we think the Giant Burst of Nebulous Starlight that only exists around the Mausoleum that Mohg took over as his palace is? Mausoleums are used as stately buildings that house holy relics or tombs. That Mausoleum looks almost as big as say...one of the giant ladies on the stone throne from Ainsel River Well??? Hmmmmm.

I can't wait to see you fight the Regal Ancestor Spirit! The Ancestor Spirits are so beautiful. And their soundtrack is actually my favorite videogame music ever. Fun fact, I'm not a native English speaker, and while I normally understand everything, in rare occasions I get weirdly confused. And for SOME reason, every single time you talk about the Abductor Virgins, instead of hearing "Abductor Virgin", I hear "Abductor Version". And I'm like "version of what???" It's so funni how no matter how many times I tell myself it's "virgin", I always hear "version".

Instead of that jump to the balcony you could've just used the ladder on the right of the door to get on the roof and drop down.

During my playthroughs I got the idea that an overarching theme of the game is "rules" and how arbitrary they can be. The Golden Order basically is a rule book by which the Lands Between work, but you can actively alter this rule book. - Removing the Rune of Death; - Splitting the runes; - Turning Hoar Loux into an Elden Lord and then into a Tarnished; - Using a piece of the Rune of Death, even though it's not possible, but then doing it anyway by somehow splitting the effect of death itself on Ranni and Godwyn; - Creating new Runes/rules alltogether. This Golden "Order" is an absolute mess to be frank :D And then we have the "rule" how an Empyrian can only be born from a single god, which somehow only worked with Ranni coming from Radagon's egg... and then she even find's a way to stop being an Empyrian!

Hey Dave, not sure if you saw Vaati's latest video on gameplay secrets, but there's a neat little trick with the Guts Greatsword where you can do a poke attack using either a rolling attack or attacking out of crouch. Might help increase the versatility of your Guts build a little bit. On a separate but random note, are you planning on incorporating a crossbow into your build for the true Guts effect? :)
@elizabethcassidy80822 жыл бұрын
I find it notable that these slimy silver tears works much like the scholars of Rennala's amber egg "reborn again and again". Perhaps the sorcerers were attempting to make servants, or even themselves. However without a rune of death, why would being reborn again and again matter for a sorcerer? This leads me to think that Albinaurics were created before Marika took care of the rune of death. Also a meteor hurling towards Nokron is usually an attack sign. Fascinating! I was not the original person who pointed out the Cuckoo's parasitic nature! I believe that I restated it in another, later comment in regards to why they could be called cuckoo knights (my comment is on your Siofra River video). I am trying and failing to find the earlier comment that blew your mind but I cannot find it. It is for sure not me, because I remember thinking "darn, I didn't get to share the fun animal fact"

The quick swap between the underground and over world has been there since the start lol I remember seeing it when someone streamed the game within a week of release Also I think patches drops something after he "dies" in the shaded castle but I might be misremembering Also also it's interesting how a lot of the great runes are visibly corrupted I think Rykard's is the first that's like that but Radahn's might be too

Oh i just i just had a thought. maybe the reason ranni is an Empyrian and her brothers aren't is because their male. being an empyrian means you could take Merika place and two are female and one is the effeminate twin of the second maybe "he" is like mom/dad and can be both.

About reading up on Norse mythology for the lore vids, I would strongly encourage you to instead brush up a bit on Celtic mythology, which @Jeremy Scott has mentioned quite a bit of lore draws from aspects of Celtic myths. This would make your videos more unique than those who stop at Norse myths. A word of caution is that I have read Celtic myths on and off and barely digest anything compared to the more narratively cohesive and popular norse myths. With the limited amount of time you have, I don't expect you to digest celtic mythology in depth.

Elizabeth! I got schooled a bit myself today when watching some videos from Ziostorm, and people adding to their assessment, on the concept of a certain Alchemical Scroll *And Its Counterpart Considered By Many To Be An Unreliable Narrator of Sorts!* in its relationship to the more Divine Concepts and symbolism behind this world. But I do maintain and absolutely appreciate you shouting out the Celtic Myth (mah last name is Scott after all 😆!) Bc I do really think that the Nordic associations are more to do with a misunderstanding of the diversity in Nature Based Western Religions as Predecessors...and not ironically at all, I think that has a lot more to do with our story here than just the idea of a "World Tree", although I cannot deny that to be intended symbolism of the creators!
