I've always had a love of both RTS games and nature documentaries and never thought in a thousand years that the two would intersect. But here comes "Empire of the Ants" with an awesome game that I've been having a ton of fun playing. There was an old school snes game called ants i think. It was top down. You could dig your base bigger. Order the queen what eggs to lay. Basically random food and bugs drop on the map. You fight the opposing colony. And once you dominate the map. The queen could lay queen ants. And you could move to the next map.

Good sound mixing can make an okay game, great and memorable. While poor sound mixing can make a good game unbearable to play. Sound is so important. Listen to this guy 👆

One note is that the in-game music is much more dynamic than what I showed here. While recording the video I turned off music to make the cuts easier and then laid a music track over top of the stitched version. Made things less jumpy but does undersell the game score

Damn! I had this game as a child back in 2000-ish and I was OBSESSED with it! Over the years I have reminisced to my self about playing this for hour after hour during the school summer holiday. I can still remember the original music so vividly! So happy to see it come back, and from Microïds too, the original studio, not some other studio 😁

@@pvb3562 2 different things is a variety, so no you dont have a variety of testicles you have a singular choice of testicle, with a duplicate. You do have a variety of limbs, choosing between arms or legs each having a mirrored option.

So far I've definitely enjoyed it for the immersion and neat experience. Been having fun with the mission set and exploration. However I can definitely see that the replayability isnt that high. But thats fine for me as a one-and done game until things get shaken up. Scratches some old nostalgia, plays well, and doesnt need to provide endless content for me.
