First one's not destroyed from the outside but pried the door open (which seems a little stupid tbh) after which enemies get inside. Second one's either sabotaged or destroyed by psyker abilities, meaning conventional armor woudn't be of much help anyway.

What I love about the Thunderhawk is how it embodies something that got slowly eroded away by media depictions of 40k: It's both an assault lander and a groungs to space/space to ground vehicle. At least as stuff used to be depicted (particularly by forgeworld) most assault aircraft are pure aeronautica (atmospheric aircraft) and orbital transports are huge machines not generally capable of deployment into combat. This is supposed to make direct assault from orbit a somewhat uniquely Space Marine thing. The Astra Militarum typically lands in uncontested areas (typically far away from any enemy presence) and takes days, if not weeks to establish landing zones/beachheads were their forces are landed and from were they are deployed to their actual tasks.

I have a question about attrition and losses!!! In the space marine 2 campaign I would assume there are at least between 100-200 marines dying in the campaign in the system to the tyranids and chaos which accounts for at least 1/10th of the ultramarine’s total chapter strength. That is a crazy amount of strength to lose in a matter of days. How do these chapters replenish their units? How quickly?
@Writh8113 ай бұрын
After going through training and surgery Marines will serve in the Scout core until they are slotted into an Company, be it that they get along or that the company has some vacancies open up. The Scouts number more than 1000 and are not considered part of that flimsy 1000 Marine count.

Space Marine 2 takes place in the Dark Imperium period, so at that point (upgraded) marines can be mass produced again. They have to keep founding new chapters just so they can stick to the 1000 limit.
@piedpiper11722 ай бұрын
Prior to the final mission you can see about 83 surviving, combat ready members of 2nd Company. We do not see all that many dead marines through the campaign, and hear of only one squad (some of whom are the same ones we find) being lost. I suspect, at least before , that the casualties are way, way lower than 1-200. Closer to 15, plus or minus 5 more critically injured. Also, combat ineffective and actually killed are quite different for space marines. They can recover from incredible wounds if evacuated, and even then the most seriously wounded will be placed into dreadnoughts. It is undoubtedly an usually costly theater, but there was an unusually dangerous complication (on top of the Tyranids) to the theater as well.

I think one of my favorite concepts for a transport ship came from Hammer's Slammers. The lightly armed and shielded transport ships for the Planetary Siege Tanks known as BOLO's carried the vehicles mounted upside down in a similar position to the Thunderhawk. That way the BOLO's weapons, sensors and shields could be used as a force multiplier during transit. To the unknowing, you'd think, oh that's nice... But in the Slammer universe, that means an enemy fleet going after a handful of 'unescorted transports' were likely to be decimated, including capital ships.

I love the over-the-top aesthetics of 40k. That being said, the coolest feature of the Thunderhawk is going supersonic albeit having the aerodynamics of a brick

Nice work on this piece. Might we see a breakdown of Primaris Squads in the future?

The greatest thing the Imperium ever did was to perfect the Infinite Ammunition Bin. This technology, which enables an ammo magazine to carry nearly infinite amounts of ammunition, is one of the cornerstones of the Imperium's continued success. This is how a Boltgun magazine can carry 30 or more rounds, when from the outside, it only appears to have room for a handful.

I'd love to see a "true size of a Krieg Regiment" video pls. I think it would be really awe inspiring since they are designated siege regiments/corps. plus they have such high attrition that their logistics network might need a video of its own.

I always loved how the wings aren't there for any amount of aerodynamics but purely to carry weaponry.

One flaw in your interior model at about 15:00, you have the side hatches misaligned, they should be directly opposite each other, as they are on the exterior.

We can NEVER have enough 40K brother. Though, if you may, i might beseech you to cover battletech too as the new mechwarrior is coming soon, maybe the corps would grant you a sponsorship and it certainly is a lot fun to make mechs go boom

Would love to see you do a version of this for the Corvus Blackstar, that would be epic

The Thunderhawk is pretty awesome, but to fit 30 marines into that you would have to stack them on top of each other XD
