+daggerwin Downloaded Firewood mod and had a play around with it, it's quite good. When you cut or de-limb branches and tree trunks, it adds the wastage to the firewood tally, but leaves you with the branches/trunks to sell or chip as normal. If you want to add a branch or tree trunk to the firewood tally, it has to be less than 2 metres long, look at the piece of wood with the chainsaw selected so you get the blue cut disc then press the Q key and the wood will disappear and be added to the firewood tally. You can reset the measuring tool by looking at the end of a branch or trunk and hold the shift key and press your right mouse button.

I was actually going to suggest that you try out the firewood mod. I have used it a couple of times now on different maps, and it seems to work really well. You don't make a massive amount of money with it, but then, It's only firewood, and would not realistically be worth that much money, and besides, every little bit of money helps, but it's amazing how much extra you can make if you persevere with it. I did think that you misinterpreted how the mod works though, you don't actually have to transport the pallets. I have started playing Thornton farm today, and I'm loving it, and like you, I have put my gameintervaldays on soilmod to two days.

How do you put soil mod to every second day?

You need to find your game save folder. Open it and find careerSavegame.xml should be third line from the top. Open with a text editor, I use notepad++. Scroll down and near the bottom, you will find this line: Change the number in intervalgameDays= to what ever number you want. This will be the number of game days between soilmod's cycle, so if you want two days, just type in "2", then save the file, and reload your game. You should see that the number in the top left corner has changed.

I do prefer the square bales (think it's down to the fact where I worked last they had a round, and wrapping 400 in 12 hours kinda makes you hate round bales)

The 7530 runs at 196hp with a hydra boost which brings it up to 210hp and the 7718 runs at 177 with a hydra boost up to 200hp, I know there's no hydra boost in FS but that's how it is in real life :)

Dagger, just as a heads up. When you cut a tree as horizontally as possible, it falls down automatically, I made the same mistake at first by cutting it diagonally. It's weird logic I know, but it's just how the game expects you to play it!

Don't angle your saw. Keep it horizontal and the tree will fall in the direction of the cut. It's an fs15 thing.

I have found it is best only to have in your mod folder the mods you are going to use with that map. Also best only to have one map mod in your folder at any given time. As I have found maps mods conflict with each other.

The engine switch on/off mod is called 'Drive Control' and the manual attach is ironically called 'Manual Attach' :)

dagger win don't do any more forestry videos please as it would be unrealistic for a arable/dairy farm in the UK to make a profit from forestry. The only time they would chop tree's down is if they were in the way

I see the same in many vehicles, mods and base game ones. Occasionally in cab seems less jerky than outside cam. I have found using ALT + TAB to go to the desktop and then returning to the game using the taskbar sometimes makes it run smoother. Good old Giants Engine......
