Does anyone else feel like fm10 has the best ME of the entire series? A few things I notice in FM10 vs current gen: - Players don't force crosses. In FM20 players always kick crosses straight into opposing players. In FM10 I notice players pass back more if they don't have space to cross - Player dribbling makes more sense. Players dribble more intelligently vs just running into opposing players and losing it. - defensive shape is much more organized. - few quirks but player decisions seem more intelligent in this FM

I'm playing FM10 right now. 10.3 match engine is my favorite in the entire series. I remember playing through FM11-FM16 and always getting back to FM10 because it was so much better. I always holiday 50-100 years into the future in a world filled with regens and start a save from there.

Yeah I played FM10 for years before upgrading. The ME was very strong on direct football + if you had a guy with PPM 'hits free kicks with power' you got some absolute bangers. Hulk was a beast at that.

I had my favourite ever save on FM 10 - a journeyman starting at Tai Po in Hong Kong and finishing 35 seasons later in the Champions League final with Man Utd.... We lost but it was still an epic save!

@@DodgeeGamer I had a Liverpool save going where I basically turned Torres into Messi using one simple trick, setting him as a target man with 'target man supply' set on run onto ball. Got 50 goals every season doing deep into his 30's doing that. Fun times :)

I must say, I really miss the style of this UI, it seems so clean and organized, bright panels and the headers that made it look like bookmarks on your manager's folder. Nowadays they go with the "social media" style where everything is simplified to the point of hiding screens deeper and deeper in order to not "overwhelm" the UI.

This game was my start into the FM life. I remember playing Manchester United in the FA Cup with Peterborough United, signed Zezinho and Joao Paulo and I crushed them 3-0. Oh how I shouted with joy back then. Thanks man, this game reminded me of the good times

the only FM I can stand playing and I've loved it for more than a decade. I just wish they could have a retro mode in the new games copying this. The only thing missing with the AI in this game is that sometimes they randomly swap the goalkeeper mid-game and then switch 3-5-2 to 5-3-2 while trailing! Otherwise it's perfection.

I don't have FM10 in my library on Steam sadly but I did sim FM11 up to the present day. Very interesting to see players like Harry Kane completely fail to make it!

You know i bought this at the time but hated it compared to earlier champ mans but tried to give it another go recently. I don't know if its the same for other people but i played it on a 2016 pc and ran all the leagues, which was still quite fast but after 3 seasons the game seemed to 'glitch'. I became pretty much unable to score let alone win a game and the strangest things started to happen. Couldn't maintain a lead for more than 5 mins, never ahead by half time. At least 1 player sent of every match, goals constantly disallowed, opposition goalkeepers became unbeatable, they all had the game of their lives. You'd look at the stats and youd have 25+ shots on goal, maybe 15+ on target and no goals, opposition would have 5-6 shots and 1-2 on target and you'd lose 1-2 nil. This all in one match. I had one game where i was somehow 5-2 up with 10 mins to go and yup it ended 5-5, the computer wouldn't allow me to win. The game kept crashing too. Oh on the 2nd season i was told i would have like 60 odd million from Tv rights for the coming season and it didn't appear, no income arrived. I don't know if this happend normally or if its the speed of the computer or too many leagues? Even in the first season my best players average ratings were like 7.01 over 40+ games, it seemed impossible to get decent average ratings. I had Klass-Jan Huntelaar score like 28 goals 1st season couldn't score a goal 2nd and sold him only for him to score 30+ for the opposition. Players values never seemed to rise and was impossible to have a player worth over 10M and i was playing as Ac Milan. Ronaldinho indeed managed about 6 goals for the season and an av rating of under 6. Couldn't sell him to anyone and sat in the reserves for 3 years on 180k. Really a terrible game. Computer just said no. I even played a friendly against an amateur German team and was still unable to score. I never liked seeing the players on the pitch and preferred text only but no option for that which was pretty much the end of the game for me. You'd have your player set to no forward runs, long shots, crosses, stay back for all set pieces and then see them in the oppostion box like WTF. There always seems to be this defense splitting pass where they lob the ball from their own half and their striker runs down the middle, all your defenders are on the halfway line and yup its a goal. Far too much emphasis on training and advanced postions options. I just want to pick the team and buy the players. All this calling the press became tedious guff and players were always retiring at 32,- option to tell them not to retire but not one sod ever did- whats the point. I mean this game really made me quite angry hense ive come here to sound off. Loved champ man 2, 97-98 on Pc. 02-03 on XBox but by the time this came along it was a major ballache.

FM18>FM15>FM16>FM19>all else played all of them, started from FM14 Main reason for fm19 not being number 1 is because of the regen attribute spread. strikers are all copy paste advanced forwards, no variety... other positions too. Also, scoring from open play is impossible after you're the dominant team in your league. (im playing in serbia on fm19)
