Gouge on the line where I work is to stop the transfer when the higher tank shows 70 pounds more than the lower tank. Our mnemonics are "pick on the little guy" (turn off pumps on the low side) and "do something good before you do something bad." (Open the crossfeed valve before you turn off pumps to start, turn on pumps before you close the crossfeed valve when you're done.)

it a shame that PMDG doesn't include the option for a egg timer like the real KLM 737's for this purpose. would be nice for a company update

On my flight today with pmdg 737-600, the right side tank was completely emptied while the left had still 2000+ kg of fuel, cross feed was not active, why is that? Simulated fuel leak? Or wind direction could force an engine to work more? I enabled cross feed to finish my flight safely.

Why is there nothing in the centre tank. There should be a minimum of like 0.40 to cool hydralucs. Or am I missing something here?

it needs MIN 760kg in the wingtanks (MAIN FUEL TANKS) because thats where the heat exchangers are The Centre tank even got a scavenge system to make it more empty so you can use it all. take long btw between 100kg/hr and 200kg/hr. testing it just takes too long 🙂

Don’t forget that unusable fuel is not shown on the gauges. It happens often that you forget about the pumps until the master caution comes, by that time the tanks will be really about empty, later you pitch down for your descend and all of the sudden there’s some kilos of fuel shown on the gauge again. So you’ll probably never have the tanks empty. HOWEVER I have to say I am not aware of such a 40kg limitation for the center tank. Can’t see it in my FCOM either.

@@A330Driver I think that he (confused) mismatch Center Tank with the Main Fuel Tank about the 0.40 (400kg) for hydraulic cooling like explained and as you know you need min 760kg in the Main fuel tank for associate hydraulic system for cooling or dont not operate for more then 2 min without fuel i.a.w. AMM 29-11-00-860-803/804 and about the 400kg i thing he got it from that you need a min of 454kg to operate the center tanks pumps i.a.w. AMM: 28-22-41-710-801 and i think the FCOM has about the same info
