I think at 15:06 you forgot about the Lethal Rule, which would’ve killed the Blue Team Spartan instead of sitting at 3 wounds. Haven’t gotten a chance to watch further, so I’m not sure if this was corrected later

Is there any mechanism that prevents players from just sitting and turtling?

Some models are good at it, such as Spartan Zvezda with the Cindershot (able to threaten characters behind cover as it is technically a very lethal grenade), or Spartan Zvezda (Commando Rifle) and Spartan VII with Rapid Fire, able to use the Blaze Away to pin enemies in cover even if they are hard to hit. Also, all Sangheli have extremely lethal plasma grenades to root people out. Other than that..

rolling a 8 regardless if shooting or defending is called a headset and thus bonus dice ( think of rolling an 8 as a defender a epic save or whatever term you want to use )

That's how it used to be in deadzone, they renamed to headshots in halo to add flavour, but that doesn't make any sense for defence rolls

11:54 optics just gives you a +1 die modifier not an extra 11:54 dice.

In Flashpoint, dice modifiers are adding or subtracting dice, not modifying results like in Warhammer or other war games

The rules under the keyword Optics states "This weapon adds a +1 die modifier to Shoot actions. Headshots occur on rolls of 7 and 8." Under the 'Dice Tests' section, it states "Modifiers always add or subtract from the number of dice to be rolled."
