@@PraetorianHiJynx also another question I have. At what turn should you be out of the Neolithic era? I play on Endless and couldn’t find science or food for like 6 turns and felt like I had to reset. Is that why you play Nation so that way it can take 30-50 turns for the AI to advance?

@@TheCaesarion I don't think there is a specific turn you need to be out of the Neolithic Era by, as it really depends on the situation and your goals. If there is a specific culture or type of culture you want to play as, then you're going to want to move to the Ancient Era as soon as possible. In that case, how much time you'll have will depend on how fast the AI is moving; as long as your desired culture hasn't been taken, you're good. If you're wanting to maximize fame, expect to be in the Neolithic longer. Or if you want to build a massive tribe with several outposts, that requires collecting a lot of food and influence so you'll have a longer Neolithic as well. IMO though, it's easier to get influence, and thus more territory, once you have cities producing it, and you'll have an abundance of opportunities to get fame throughout a campaign, so you don't really need to get all the stars during the Neolithic. The only advantage specific to the Neolithic is the ability to collect food to get new units, which can allow you to create a large army relatively quickly (far quicker than in the Ancient Era). Sure, they're all just scouts, but you can use a large scout army to overrun AI countries in the very early game, as they won't have enough units to stop you. But regardless, you'll see in today's episode that even coming out of the Neolithic really late as we did, doesn't mean that you can't quickly catch up :)

I really like that starting nomadic era. It lets you explore and learn some of the game mechanics, but doesn't feel rushed.

I'd say that it's significantly less complex than your typical Paradox strategy game, but it's more complex than Civ 6 IMO

that AI you found, as with all AI in this stupid game (I have a very love/ hate relationship here lol) will always do EVERYTHING they can to stop you. And oh, they attacked you too :/ and the flag is ALWAYS at the most inconvenient spot ever too.

No, not really like Age of Empires, since that's a real-time strategy game while this is a turn-based one. They don't have much in common honestly, other than both being historical strategy games. This game is very similar to the Civilization series if you've ever played that.

If you like the Civilization series than this could be for you. It does some things better than Civ, and other things not as well. But overall it's quite similar to that series.

It came out on the 22/08/2023 which was a complete suprise to me.

I believe it was just delayed "indefinitely" as they didn't have a new release date and had no idea when it would be ready. But I'm not sure when or where they announced the new release date, as we completely missed it, and I'm always on the lookout for this sort of news. I didn't realize it was released until my PC series starting getting a large number of new views lol

Yes it has both Mayans and Aztecs as cultures you can select. And you can also set the win conditions to conquest only.

Runs very well on PS5. Controls are okay, not the best adaption of a strategy game to controller, but certainly not the worst. Everything is functional, just takes a while to get comfortable with the controls.

I'm experiencing minor bugs. Nothing major. Small things like when you reload a game sometimes your units will all be invisible which gets really annoying but I usually restart my ps5 and it's good.

We haven't tried it, but I don't think mouse & keyboard would work with the new UI. Though I suppose some console games revert to the PC UI when M&K are hooked up.

I think it's a solid 4X game, doing some things better and some things worse than the Civilization series. Of course, if you don't like turn-based 4X strategy games, you're not going to enjoy this.
