42:00 - 42:45 Killing the Firefly before it blocks spawn actually replaced a 1 health enemy with a new full health enemy (in this case a psion with 2 health, buffing all enemies). Killing it with melee did not actually benefit you, as you are left with an enemy in that position either way (with more health), where placing melee there for positioning would probably have been good enough. 43:15 - 44:15 (theory building incoming) I think this was your turn to move on damaging the Hornet Leader. This turn, it had 7 health (would have been 6 if you chose not to attack the previous turn and prevent the Psion spawning) with two turns left and your melee was in position to deal 3 damage with a wall bash. From there, your tank could move left and shoot up-right and push the the Hornet Leader out of grid range. You would still be able to defend the Corporate Tower with an artillery push (most likely aimed to push down-right). Yes, you would also take one damage to melee, but mech damage does not matter as long as they survive, especially with only 1 turn left to survive and complete your objectives. Final turn, with 4 damage dealt to the Hornet Leader, 3 health remains and Corporate Tower is still alive. Melee is still in position to stay active on the left side of the map. If we assume that the Fireflies would still spawn, your movement could still be impeded by the Scorpion left alive, and the Fireflies could target your melee (in this case, Psion would be alive, but still not attacking). Tank or artillery would crowd control and free melee. Hornet Leader would probably follow the same targeting positions and be set up for another 3 damage wall bash on center mountain. Conversly, if mech could kill Psion and survive the turn, Hornet Leader is left with 2 health and can be killed by tank wall bash (artillery would probably still CC). If things go perfectly, worse case scenario is 1 grid damage on the last mission, all mechs survive, vek retreat, and both objectives still completed. Or maybe not. Hard to say how the game would have reacted, but a good mental exercise nonetheless.

Great game I've been playing a lot of it. I'd love to give some tips, at 11:40 for example I would have probably used the cannon mech to shoot the enemy in your right towards the vek spawn, so you prevent the spawn and also kill a vek, while then using the artillery to shoot the vek above your cannon to deal 1 damage and push your cannon downwards, this would mean you would only have 3 enemies to answer on your next turn which you are much more likely to be able to handle with your 3 mechs than the 4 you ended up with.

its so much more important to get objectives/perfect the island than it is to protect your grid dude. 1 star is equal to 1 power, and perfecting the island gets you +2 grid for free if you really need it. You 100% should have been prioritizing maximizing damage on the boss instead of the little veks.

You missed one damage on the second to last turn of the first mission by not shooting a hornet directly with your artillery and it bit you in the ass the next turn.

20:45 Why not move the artillery to the furthest left hit the tile next to the enemy on the far left and then hit the other enemy into the water with the tank mech(it won't die but its ok) :p.Just the way i would do it,everyone thinks differently.(Though this way he avoids one damage to his mech)

At 28:00 you could have prevented all damage by killing the fire fly attacking your grid, used the artillery to move the one threatening the coal play and move the flying enemy attacking the tank to attack the one webbing the tank then use the tank to attack the one webbing it so it takes 1 damage then 1 more from being moved into a hill and then it would die from the flying enemy attacking it and then you would have prevented all damage

Just play on hard difficulty. You'll get an occasional additional alpha vek on first couple of islands, but then it's only alphas on 3-4-5 islands anyways, but you in return you get more xp and 1500 max people saved per mission.

Also, alpha veks are kind of easier to control. AI always tries to dish out maximum damage, thus it attacks maximum amounts of squares with aoe. That boss hornet moved back and forth with it's 3 range attack. Regular hornets just fly all over the place, but alphas, if you place two of your mechs together, will stick to them like to a fly trap. Also, haven't seen any youtuber to realize that they can use wrong class weapons on mechs for the extra reactor cost. Pretty cool to use titan fists and stuff on flying science vessels and turn them into geodudes.

So I don't think you realized this but you can use the artillery mech to shot an empty space on the map and it will push the units to the side. You could have done that a couple times and did not even think about it, so just a heads up :D
