While I'm not too mad about them, the fact that bonus stars like Shopping and Running exist is kind of iffy. At least in the first few Mario Parties Coin and Minigame were and still are somewhat skill/strategy based. Chance Time was a thing in the earlier ones too though, so yeah, RNG.
