Let's Play Planet Coaster - Studios Park - Episode 10 - Back To The Future Coaster

In this series I build a studios inspired park using the studios pack DLC released by Planet Coaster. Throughout the series I'll be building a wide variety of different rides and attractions all with a movie based feel. Along with building some fantastic roller coasters and water rides, I'll have a huge focus on dark rides using some of the fantastic new ride types available in the game.
Throughout the series you'll be able to get involved by suggesting what should be built next, ride names and much more! To participate, share your thoughts in the comments section on this video.
In this episode I start work on a huge new indoor coaster themed to Back To The Future. Along with completing the track layout, I also start work on the show building for the coaster and explain my plans for the theming and storyline. Towards the end of the episode I share an on ride POV of the coaster itself before the theming is added in the next episode!

The coaster looks great. Can't wait to see it themed. The part where the track actually goes through the wall reminded a bit of BttF part 3 where Marty drives into the drive-in wall with all the native americans painted on it "Wait a minute, Doc. If I go driving straight towards that screen, I'm gonna crash into those Indians." XDD My fave is the second one. It was so diverse and creative with all the different timelines and the story itself.

My favorite Back to the Future is the first one and then the 3rd is almost as good as the first one, a lot of people say that was the worst, but not to me! I am not a Western fan, but Back to the Future 3 and Blazing Saddles are exceptions. By the way the theming and details are amazing on this!!! You are doing an amazing job and I can't wait to see the next video of the completion of this ride! :)

Amazing video Just a quick tip, I would resist the temptation to flood the room with lighting this allows the outside section of the ride to project natural light in so counter that with less lighting I also recommend a triggered light set up down the tunnel like you suggested however I would recommend starting with darker colours e.g. navy blue and working you way to a light blue then transphere into a secondary colour to add interest and excitement I would suggest green allowing terquois to be the transphere colour also because the natural roughness of the ride don't be afraid to leave some prices unsmoothed to provide a more realistic feel to the ride Thank you for making great content You probable won't read or reply to this but thank you for providing the theme park community with a funny carasmatic kind hearted man who puts smiles on my face and many others my respect and affevtion towards you is endless.

Whatever you do, call it anything but “Time Traveler”. That’s a spinning coaster at Silver Dollar City in Branson, MO (US). It sets quite a few world records. You should check it out!

Yep, I think a Remotion Ride to The Matrix Films would be an awesome addition to the side, also a huntsman ride themed to Beetlejuice would be epic and it’s quite common for Studio Parks to have be a big scary horror attraction.

I remember riding BTTF the ride in the 90s brilliant ride. The trilogy is my favourite too, in fact I have an entire tattoo sleeve covering all 3 films. You've got to try and put a triggered trailing fire tyre marks near a launch point

Whenever the coaster launches add flashing lights, sparks and maybe even lightning effects to make it more like the movie when the car is about to hit 88 and if u can on the track put fire effects on the track so when the coaster goes over it it leaves a trail of fire behind the coaster just like in the movie after the car hits 88

Or maybe go full wtf and add dinosaurs in that show section instead of a wild west theme. The second launch can be the riders narrowly escaping a t-rex chasing them. BTTF never went that far back so that would be original and surprising.

But Shawn even though you don’t like gehstlauer you must admit the first drop of saw the ride is like nothing else with the head chopper and the cross bows after that and the inversion over the dead body and it all ties in with the pre show before the drop with the bicycle saw puppit that still works whilst the track is vibrating from the over car zooming ahead

You could change the carts to a zenith type and change the colours to grey so it looks a bit like the delorean, also you could change it so it's only got 1 cart per train

Nice! LIttle tip for you to help your building, if you're creating walls or floor parts, you can select multiple and copy and paste, makes it a lot quicker and easier and less soul destroying ;). Great vid!

I'd love to see a Jurrasic Park/World indoor rollercoaster with a fake ending, similar to the one in revenge of the mummy in universal studios florida. The roller coaster would stop at what appears to be the end of the roller coaster, with the audio queue of a staff member telling the riders to leave the ride once it has stopped, only to be cut off by a dinosaur, like a raptor, and eaten. Whatever happens next is up to you.

Not sure you know but you can actually remove supports so the ones that are in the way you can click on the track piece and there is a option to remove supports. Otherwise great vid and I wish I could be as good as you are at building all the theming. Great coaster very compact just like real gerstleur coasters. Love this series gonna go play it now 😂

Going to be great when done, BTTF is one of my favourite films too. Don't forget you can use the "Colourable Panel" to line the inside of the walls, floors and ceilings to stop the reflection of lights on walls. They're the same as the starfield panels but without stars. Also you can use the F key to snap them to each building panel, saving masses of time!! And you can change them to any colour.
