2 years late to the video, but the way to get encounters in the desert in QFG2 is by standing still. They will come to you.

Absolutely. If you stand by the left or right edge of the screen it will give you time to throw three daggers or cast a couple spells at the enemy before the battle also.

I know this video is old, but the griffin can be done very easily if I remember correctly. If you type "look for feather" or something close to that you can get the griffin feather without ticking it off. The feather is under the rock on the ground along the wall. That way no penalty for Paladin points. I think you can also type "talk to griffin" and some silly stuff will happen. Love the videos I grew up on the Sierra games.

I got Saurus for $5 with crap communication, if you keep talking to Ali. If you type go home, the saurus will automatically take you back to Shapier. If you fall off due to baddies, type call saurus and it'll come back.

Yeah completely forgot about haggling for the saurus. And didn't even know about the Go Home command, that's a time saver!
