@Quill18 Your workers can move any and all resources in a tile with them when they move; mechs can do the same. You could have moved that worker and the metal and done exactly what you wanted to do. This game punishes poor planning but not as bad as you thought it might. As far as ideas go you can either focus early production and one other action, in your case probably focus on that wood and then buildings. Two action loops are also great, especially if you can do both the top and bottom action of at least one of them each turn. Don't neglect popularity as it multiplies your points. Another strategy that can work is just hoarding money, it's literally victory points so never feel bad for doing something just for a decent return in coins. Our group has found that Polonia is a very powerful faction for novice players because while you may not know the most efficient ways to play yet, two rewards for going after events is hard to mess up. The Rusvet (sp?) are also great as they break the normal action loop and with the right economy board they can really hyper focus on one thing efficiently. From a novice Scythe player.
@johnbuscher
@johnbuscher 4 жыл бұрын
We just finished playing our 2nd and 3rd game, and we were not pleased with the fact that the Rusviet didn't have to dance the dance like the rest of us. You want to move multiple turns in a row? Go for it! Need to generate a lot of materials to deploy or build? Take another turn to produce! That freedom in economy is nuts in this game, where everyone else can almost do the same thing, but usually slower. Polonia, thematically, is my favorite faction. Meander is great, I love Submerge (walk on lakes and treat lakes as adjacent spaces? Heeeeeeck yeah!), no loss of popularity when you chase workers, and their mechs look really slick in my view. Saxony is an interesting faction if you can get a bunch of mechs out quickly and generate a lot of power and combat cards. Then you can go ransack things to get stars if you're strong enough.

It came out earlier this year that he didn't do all of it, as he was using other people's art for some of it but changing parts of it.
@johnbuscher
@johnbuscher 4 жыл бұрын
@@GamingWithGeo I've seen some of the evidence of that, and I don't see why people are complaining that artists use reference material to base things on. He didn't just copy and paste stuff over and over. Some of his art is similar to itself and I can see similarities between one piece and another, but there's a line to draw between "I usually draw them this way" vs "I've just traced over some one else's art". The only "suspicious" thing is I haven't seen the Polonia mechs from the front in his art, most of them are in a similar position for each shot. But the people are in different positions, and the lighting is different in most of them, so I don't really care.

Polish faction is the most polished (hehe) faction out there It has a lot of references here and there like: -Wojtek bear which really existed. He was adopted by General Anders's polish army on exile at Italy and he was mascot among the soldiers, But for him to stay with the soldiers he had to become a soldier. That means the poland officially had bear serving in its millitary! There is also a myth that during one of battles he started to carry the shells for the artillery. After the war polish army on exile was disbanded and because poland was forced to become communist republic which accused the army of treason and they couldn't go back, the bear had to stay in Brittain in Edinburgh where he died and got a monument -Winged Hussars on the faction screen -On Wojtek's backpack and on Anna's beret there is "Polska Walcząca" symbol that looks like P anchor. It was created and used by polish underground during ww2 and by Warsaw uprising -On patriotic player deck there is a monument and I think it's monument of Polish Army Marshal Józef Piłsudzki, which is Polish national hero, father of polish independence, a symbol and later a dictator that helped Poland resurrect itself and fight for its territories after ww1 -The game's setting was inspired by polish-bolshevik war in early '20s that was struggle of poland and some other eastern european nations to exist and be sovereign from russia. The war was won by so called Vistula [River] Miracle (war was decisive polish victory making it one of the few that won with Russia [twice or more] and only modern nation that conquered Moscow) There is of course plenty more of these refernces but that's enough for now

is him carrying shells a myth? if he knew how to drink beer (when he was a cub he was fed condensed milk from a vodka bottle) then i assume you could probally teach him how to carry shells
@RM97800
@RM97800 5 жыл бұрын
He might have carried those shells, but sometimes soldiers in a heat of battle or under stress can observe things that didn't happen actually or it could be myth created among the soldiers to boost morale and solidify Wojtek's place as mascot of all of the polish armies on exile. As I said, he could carried those shells, but there is not enough solid proof and most of the eye witness are dead (except of Wojtek's handler that is still alive and i think he lives in Krakow [ I actually met him once in my life! ])

It was proven by members of his unit that he did begin to mimic their actions and carried crates to the guns, but it was also noted by the battery that he tended to carry empty crates rather than full ones.

Edgelord here: It's an OK game that ends up being 80% solitaire with some interesting gameplay in the last turns of the game. It's a hearty 'meh' from me, after playing it about ~15 times between the legacy-like campaign (8 games) and 7 regular games. When everyone knows what they're doing, turns are predetermined and there is lots of balking about getting a bad economy sheet for their faction, or objectives, the only random element in this game. That being said, this is a good game for creatures of habit who enjoy slamming out some solid, consistent games.
@johnbuscher
@johnbuscher 4 жыл бұрын
That's fair. My brother and I have just played it a few times and we are starting to feel that "Oooo, if only I had X economy" as the only downside. We did play using a Doom Clock Resolution, which kept the game very short and sweet for a 3 player match, and we were able to try different strategies to expand in a short amount of time.
