I believe Commanders are still counted as troopers and are therefore "trooper units" - being their own trooper unit leader. In fact if you check above Luke's/Vader's health points you can see it says "trooper".

You can only take and hold ground with ground troops. Leaders don't win wars, troops do. That's why I figure they can pick up objs

I feel like Luke was played too aggressively. I think he may have been better off protecting the troops with the objectives then going after Vader. The AT-RT's seemed to be doing well vs Vader from a distance.

Vader has infinite courage and just strikes fear into the units he commands. That's why they will never break as long as he's alive.

Do you guys think it makes more sense for your opponent to pull the orders from your bag? I can totally see people marking tokens so they can pull whoever they want. Maybe I'm just paranoid. ☺

I'm not sure if I'm understanding the order wrong, but round 2 with return of the jedi order. removing the suppression tokens only happens when luke activates not all turn. so the suppression that was added to the troops after he moved should not have been removed? please correct me if I'm wrong I've not played this yet.
@glendhanks6 жыл бұрын
You mentioned a question about the objectives. In the LTP it states that a captured objective is flipped to the "Claimed" side and kept next to the leader of that unit. If the unit panic or is defeated the token is flipped to unclaimed side and placed in base contact of the leader before removing and.or moving leader.

From what I read in the movement article on the FFG Legion site, vehicles must complete a full movement length and only trooper units can part move. As well Luke and Vader are troopers, due to the work being under their picture above the wounds.
@Nathan-xz7xs6 жыл бұрын
They can perform partial moves per the Learn to Play guide. Compulsory moves (like from the Speeder keyword) must be full movement length.
@TheTswebb20006 жыл бұрын
Ok, i'll have to wait for the complete rules to confirm this. And was just going off the boots on the ground article, www.fantasyflightgames.com/en/news/2017/12/15/boots-on-the-ground/

Vehicles can move in reverse as well - that's what it means by front or back of the movement tool. Vehicles are just different in that they have to start their moves from those notches - making their moves more restricted. If they perform a partial move, their facing still has to be aligned with the tool.
@Nathan-xz7xs6 жыл бұрын
Should've specified ground vehicles. Its on page 19 of the Learn to Play.

I think the first speeder that moved should not have died as he had cover 1 which cancels a hit leaving him with 1 hp left.

At least they both made the same mistake. But yah...
@llokiigaming37256 жыл бұрын
Ok, I thought the same thing (4 pips = 4 units) but that's not the case. The pips are just used for the bid, where under the image it shows how many units you can activate. Many cards have it where the pip value is the same as the number of units you can give orders to, this one is different.
@TheJohnnyisontheTable6 жыл бұрын
Yes, this card is different and I understand how this mistake could be made if you are still not very familiar with the rules. I've seen this error in the video from yesterday and when I saw they had another video today I though "well.. did they recorded this one at the same day or is there any chance this video is recorded a few days after, when they realized their mistake and now they'll fix it?" The answer is: nope, it was recorded in the same day with the same rules mistake.

Sorry to whip out the lore and hit people over the head with it but Clone troopers and Storm Troopers are not the same The clone army was retired after order 66 and the rise if the empire for two reasons. 1. The accelrated aging of the clones ment that they were at the end of there combat life span. 2. Palpatine worried that the clones would interprate Order66 incorectly and target the sith. Stormtroopers are the graduates of various imperial military accdamys and other such recruting drives.

Absolutely not. I'm sure some lore sticklers out there will get their pitchforks if he's not screen accurate, but at the end of the day it's YOUR army. So long as it's recognizably Luke Skywalker I doubt the average player would say anything. I certainly wouldn't.

I really dislike the amount of components you need to play the game. Too many cards, counters and chits that clutter the table even more. I really love the minis and the Star Wars theme but it's the countless little bits and extra setup time that puts me off.

I have no strong views on whooping Americans either way. Sometimes a game mechanic is just not very exciting. From those batreps it looks to me that the game encourages hunkering down in cover and blasting away. Most of the more attacking moves ended badly and models that ventured out of cover were shot down quite easily. It is difficult to be anything other than an armchair general at the moment as the game is not widely distributed but we are actually entitled to our opinions. I doubt you have ever been a whooping American but you appear to have an opinion on them.

Not certain that Orks will play SW Legions but I suppose Wookies might? Anyway thank you for taking the time to respond.

Gerrcinn that was astoundingly childish. I meant no offense, I was just hypothesizing on why he felt the way he did. If you're making entertainment and you can't respond well to simple critique on entertainment value, quite the opposite you attack people who voice it, you're not going to do very well. I enjoyed the video, I didn't enjoy this interaction in the slightest. I truly wish you the best, cheers.

Too bad really. It is a great game. Got monthly tournaments here and within an hour three tournaments each month. But it needs some help with demos and discussions to grow. Someone needs to work actively and not wait for someone else to do the heavy lifting :)
@kevinsayers59856 жыл бұрын
@Mikael you'll find out all FFG LCGs are like this. I have played quite a few at this point and no longer will be playing any of their LCGs anymore. The communities just cannibalize each other rather than grow separately. FFG does nothing to grow player bases and the games usually come in with a bang of excitement and then just wither on the vine until they either reboot the game or discontinue it. Those are the 2 outcomes we've seen over and over again with LCGs.
@Mixxathon6 жыл бұрын
This is very true. They make these great games and then seems to just drop them and expect them to be self sustained. Compared with a couple of other big card games, MtG and WoW, they are/were supported by their respective companies and because of that grew and prospered. I have played almost all of FFG's LCG's, and now when I think about it, the reason for them having any type of life is because there have been a handful of people locally that have worked for it and no thanks to FFG. L5R is the same really. Sure, there will be OP, but only if one actually buys the kits. In WoW, they showered the players with stuff just because that is what one do if one wants ones game to succeed and to give back a little to the player base. Not entirely sure how MtG is doing these days, but when I was active, Wizards kept track on how many games I had played and when reaching a certain amount, I got a very nice, and in retrospect rather valuable, gift in the mail. Wizards also actually promotes their game, something FFG seems to think is unnecessary (hint: it's not). Players need to see some feedback from the producer to feel that a game is alive and kicking, and that they care for their player base beyond taking their money. Letting a game live it's own life is not the way to go. I play Doomtown: Reloaded too. Probably the best card game in the world that no one plays. AEG did the same but took it to a whole other level. When asked directly why nothing was done to promote the game, their answer were always 'Good idea! You do it!' Or why there were no community building on the web - 'Great idea! You build one!' Posters? - 'Fantastic idea! You design and print them!' Always it was the players themselves that were supposed to do ALL the heavy lifting. But we were of course welcome to buy an OP Kit and arrange tournaments. Nothing given back, just taking. AEG lost the game and it died (hopefully to be better managed by PEG). Sorry for this long post. Your post above made me think about it, and I guess I have come to the same conclusion as you have: It is time to stop playing FFG LCG's (Well, LOTR and Arkham Horror will continue). I have way too many of them gathering dust on the shelves. I will play L5R with the first cycle, and will not buy into it anymore if FFG does not make some serious changes to how they handle their product.
