I hated this campaign. Took me a whole week just to complete the first mission, and I never managed to finish the second one while keeping both the leader and the archmage alive. Good luck Elivaros.

It's definitely super hard, the next scenario even moreso. I feel ya there. Hopefully not terrible for me but we'll see!!

I haven't played this one in years, the 1st scenario is different from what I remember, it will be interesting to see what else has changed! I think attacking that archer in the middle of the map while he was in a village was a mistake. He was evading 60% of attacks and healing 8 per turn. You committed close to 10 units and spent about 4 turns to kill one unit (and got lucky that it didn't level up!). Had you just not gone next to him, he would've eventually left the village and you could've immediately taken the village and killed him on favorable terrain in 2 turns max.

Man I thought I was going crazy thinking that the starting positions were different, but sure enough they do seem to have changed it. Also if I recall correctly, this map used to be a bit larger, now it's smaller so the enemies are much closer, which allows you to attack the leaders quickly. NR is definitely a very hard campaign and what's jarring is that one scenario is decent/ easy and then the next one or two are like nightmare difficulty (ex - scenario 2, 4 and 5), there's no linearity in them. But I suppose that's what makes it fun and challenging. I've only ever reached scenario 10 (lost that one and then just lost the motivation to play again). But I'm enjoying your playthroughs and will be watching this campaign till the end!

Thanks for the support Rahul! Yeah this campaign goes from 0 to 100 real quick, which definitely makes an interesting one, and I think is why they're reworking it for 1.17.

I have to confess...I started this campaign yesterday afternoon and when I got to the difficulty spike, I didn't realize until late at night that I'd been slogging through undead for hours. So I just cheated and gave my main heroes 1000 hp. Played it like an RPG game instead, as if we were the Fellowship in Moria or something.

Just a tip: at the end of your turn you could cycle through your units with the "n" key. Helps to not forget about isolated units.

I don't remember Orcish Grunts being able to face upward (Dogdo, the last Grunt that green recruited). Kinda makes it harder to see at a glance what type of unit it is, but pretty cool nonetheless. Thanks for the episode, now to catch up on your other campaign runs!

Those are the new sprites and unit animations in the latest version. I believe this version is anything after 1.15.3 as An Orcish Incursion is removed this. They keep updating the game regularly.

Son of the black eye campaign super hard, I have to constant save and reload every hits my orcish horde in one turn, the AI tend to make your quest failed and make your carryover gold less,hopefully DEV can demolished the upkeep gold, the NIGHTMARE mode is not challenging at all, it only make myself wanna throw my HP when my units percentage of hits 20%.
