Thank you everyone for watching along! This game was incredible. I had to mute songs/audio from (1:17:09 to 1:15:14) due to copyrighted music in the game. My apologies.

Krista, thank you so much for allowing us to go with you on this journey. This game has been an emotional rollercoaster and the ending leaves us having a hard time mentally placing everything that happened with Ellie and Abby. I think that it did a good job of showing how harmful it is to ourselves, and everyone around us, when revenge is all that leads us. Revenge had molded the character of these two women and it took everything away that was dear to both of them. There's a wonderful life lessen here.

And there you have it, one of the most controversial GOTY winners ever. I absolutely adore this game, and your playthrough is what made me pick it up again! That final confrontation with Abby and Ellie always breaks my heart and is so viscerally brutal because aside from their injuries you can see that they're both just so tired of fighting each other. I'm not even fully convinced that Ellie actually wanted to fight Abby. Had such a blast watching you play this, and I would also really like to see you play Hellblade, that is also a fantastic game!

I like to think that nobody won here, either Ellie or Abby. Ellie realized to late that her quest for vengeance have costed her everything. Her family. Herr two fingers and because of that she can't play the guitar anymore. And once Tommy learns that Ellie didn't kill Abby then he would most likely be through with her. Ellie once said her biggest fear is being alone and with Joel and Jesse dead and Dina and Tommy angry with her, that fear may have come true. Abby have been through a lot. First losing her father to Joel. All of her friends killed by Ellie and Tommy. And being kidnapped and tortured by a crazy gang for months. Abby have literally lost everything that matter to her. The only person she have left is Lew. I like to think that it's a good thing that she chose to spare Abby because if she have killed her then the revenge cycle wouldn't have end, it would continue. At some point Lew would track down Ellie and kill her to avenge Abby because Abby became to Lew what Joel became to Ellie. Like Abby, Lew too have lost everything that matter to him. His mother, his sister and forced to flee from the only home he knew while it was burning to the ground. The person he had left was Abby who became like a big sister to him. So mostly likely Lew would have killed Ellie to avenge Abby. TLOU series truly is a sad series because mostly it's nothing but a cycle of revenge.

RE: Ellie being pissed at Joel for saving her, i haven't finished the video so maybe you understand this by the end. But the thing you have to understand about Ellie is that she is absolutely DROWNING in survivor's guilt. She feels guilty about EVERYTHING. She feels guilty for not getting infected even though Riley did. She feels guilty about Tess. She feels guilty about Sam and Henry. She feels guilty about Joel doing what he did in the hospital and preventing the cure. The whole world is the way it is because of her, in her mind. She could have been a positive impact but instead she's just one more asshole. And then she learns that Joel was murdered BECAUSE he saved her - something else to feel guilty about. And what's more, she treated him like shit for years right up into the night before he died. I would argue that Ellie's PTSD and the trip to Santa Barbara had almost nothing to do with Abby. It was always about her guilt about her relationship with Joel. Abby was just a symbol of all that, never the actual cause. She had nothing to do with it except for unbelievably bad timing.

It's so funny how people react to the game making you play as Abby at the theatre, or forcing you to fight Abby as Ellie at the end. Some people on youtube playthroughs not open in the moment to the bold story trying to be told. Some seem more annoyed at the story of the game not shaping up to what they wanted it to be, rather than trying to understand and empathize with the emotions and thoughts of the characters in the moment. This is a common reaction I have noticed people feel with this game, they reject the feelings the game is trying to invoke in them and get angry at the story or stop playing like when the game switches to Abby. This is a complex game, and it was never going to have a happy ending, or the kind anyone has in mind at any point in the story. In the end you seemed to come to terms with the story and said you liked the game and give it a 10/10, but your reaction during the high emotion scenes seemed annoyed at the game. Like at the end when you let Ellie die, refusing to engage with the game for that bit. It makes for awkward viewing as someone looking for more serious playthroughs. Please expand your mind and be more open to unexpected stories in future games and try having more commentary on your own thoughts and feelings, it would make for much more enjoyable playthrough videos. We need more interesting and bold stories like this in games but that won't happen if game players are not more understanding and open to playing a bold and crazy story like this.

I completely agree with leepoulain here. I don't know if we watched the same thing or if you've seen Krista's other videos, but to imply that she isn't open minded and not serious with her playthrough is unfair and frankly somewhat condescending. Krista's play style generally speaking, while not the savviest or most efficient, is way more open minded, immersive, and adventurous compared to many other playthroughs I've seen. Maybe not as much in this game which doesn't allow for any deviation from the narrative, but her authenticity and penchant for exploration are not diluted at all. The game is meant to provoke strong emotions, and I agree with you that it is a bold and complex story. By the end though, it would all weigh heavily on any player. Regarding what we find enjoyable, that is of course subjective, but Krista's viewers wouldn't be coming back for more if her content wasn't.

@@marts325 Well she struggles to reach more than a couple hundred viewers on every video she makes, so I'm not so sure the current style is working to grow her audience. I just thought the sort of eye rolls, head shaking, sighs and then letting Ellie die in the final fight was clear signs that she was frustrated at the game, not to mention the subtle cuts in editing that she made that are strange. I think it could have been more watchable if she at least articulated her feelings during the fight or something because the sort of bewildered reaction and silent stewing in the final parts is pretty boring and awkward to watch. But hey, that's just my thoughts as someone watching lots of playthroughs 🤷

@@powermaxx11 The couple of hundred viewers she gets per video is spread out to more than 400 videos at this point. So, 80,000 views more or less. Not bad for an amateur gamer who's made it clear from the beginning that she's doing this primarily for fun and not for clicks. Those of us who've followed her this past year do so because of her authentic reactions and organic, blind, and fun playthroughs. If it's not to your liking, that’s fine, but no one's forcing you to watch. I'm sure there's a content creator out there who meets your high standards. Look, you seem passionate about gaming, I respect that. But not everyone's going to have the exact, specific reaction that you’re looking for. If anything, Krista's reaction just proves she's very much affected by the story and expressing herself in her own way. Unfiltered, authentic. Safe bet that most of her viewers wouldn’t want it any other way.

I think the reason some players still hate Abby is because they became so emotionally invested in Joel and Ellie that they've fallen prey to the sunk cost fallacy. It allows them to completely ignore Abby's character development in favor of any reason to demonize her. A common argument they make to demonstrate how evil of a character they think Abby is is to bring up the fact that when Ellie told her that Dina was pregnant, she replied "good" and would have slit her throat if Lev hadn't intervened. Lacking the proper context, that does sound monstrous, but Abby literally just found her pregnant friend murdered and could have justified killing Dina in that moment as an eye for an eye. Like you, I am neither on team Ellie nor team Abby. They are both deeply flawed individuals who decided to cope with their trauma by inflicting it on others. Both exhibited signs of post traumatic stress disorder as a result of what happened to their father/father figure. Abby had a recurring nightmare about finding her father's corpse, and Ellie had a full-blown flashback in the barn. Ironically, if Ellie had stayed with Dina and JJ, Abby and Lev would have died on the pillars. Also, if Ellie had gone with Jesse to find Tommy instead of going after Abby, she would have gotten to her right around the time she was fighting with Tommy.

I suspect I’ll be the unpopular opinion in the comments section, but for the purposes of open discussion, I will be that unpopular prick, lol. To explain my stance... Like you said, there are no saints in the world these characters live in. The “good guys”, Ellie, Joel, Tommy...they’ve killed and inflicted pain on others. I think it’s fair to say most adults (and some kids) in this world have done so. However, there is nothing to suggest our protagonists engaged in torture for the sole purpose of inflicting the maximum amount of pain possible for as long as possible. That is what Abby did and likely the reason why many dislike her. Don’t get me wrong, while I don’t like her, I don’t hate her either. I completely understand her motivations, and if she killed Joel a lot quicker, maybe in fair battle (even allowing for a revenge speech), I would’ve sympathized with her a lot more. However, the gratuitous and sadistic murder of Joel just lost me. As I mentioned in a previous video, there was... relish in the act. And ngl, I’m glad Tommy got some satisfaction by blowing off Manny’s face - a character I would’ve liked if not for the petty gesture of spitting on Joel’s dead body. I do think there's room for nuance here though. I do like Abby’s character development, and I highly respect her for what she’s done for Lev and Yara, and finally for the restraint in the fight at the theater (albeit thanks to Lev). Then again, minus points for killing Jesse (being Asian, I kinda felt that, lol) and almost killing Tommy. I agree with you that an ending with Ellie sitting peacefully on the tractor holding the baby would’ve been a satisfactory ending. But having decided to go after Abby, I’m still disappointed Ellie didn’t get justice for Joel. Then again, sparing Abby in the end was an act of mercy that I cannot fault her for. And before she left Dina at the farm, she did say, “I have to finish it”, not “I have to kill her”. I interpret that as getting closure in some form, whether it ends up with the death of Abby or not. Maybe Ellie just needed to look her in the eye and come to some sort of understanding.
