Hello, good videos, keep it up ! Regarding this campaign, it is good to keep an eye for Appolonia, declare war on Epirus when they are not there after you make friends with Rome, or make friends after if Epirus have Taras. If the romans take that city, they will come for you too soon. This one is very hard, i think only Syracuse is harder. Good luck !

Do what Alexander did! Secure Greece in the south, subjugate barbarians to the north. Then decide wether to conquer East to retake his Empire or go West and do what he could've done and conquer Rome and Gaul. One of my favorite campaigns is Makedon I've done it like 3 times, never with DEI though.

The diplomatic resolution can give you an idea of how a faction will accept your potential agreements. For example, when you get a Generous Gift through Diplomacy, go and check that faction out and see what else you can get, be it Trade or Bribes

ROME 2 DEI is a great mod where more in depth for politics, population, supplies for army, weather factor etc where wish was more indepth for these factors. however for me doesn't address two of the most fundamental issues in the grand campaign. this being the lack of towns and cities in the grand campaign map. there are keys towns and cities that need to be added. they are in certain campaigns like caser and gaul, rise of the republic and wrath of Sparta/ Greece but this those campaigns only deal with a small part of the known world. i know what the response going to be that the game only allows a certain amount of town and cities but still it needs to be sorted. the other factors that ties into the amount of town and cities is the deck of units in each army. where can only recruit 20 units in a pack. with the pack being in effect a legion and we all know how big a legion was. the standard thing is to increase the amount in each unit but with that you lose maneuver, there is a mod i used a while ago where you could increase the units from 20 to 70 units or more in a pack but with that due to the lack of cities and towns you cant support multiple legions that size.

Let me suggest you something so that you don't regret it later ( I mean so that you don't have supplies problems for your armies ): It is very important to build the supplies pit in your capital city in order to establish supplies lines and to be able to store more supplies as well. Also build the granary pit in a minor settlement. When you are in either enemy or neutral territory, your armies forage for supplies ( That in case you don't have an established supplies line ) but you can't depend only on that for many consecutive turns. Also recruit an admiral with a supplies ship so that it serves as an extra supplies source for your armies as long as they aren't too far from the coasts. And don't forget to attach one baggage train for each army. They prevent attrition for a reasonable amount of time when your armies are in enemy or neutral territory when you don't have any established supplies lines. The best way to get informed completely about how the supplies mechanics works, you should go read about it in the official DEI web site

As always, thanks a million for bringing it to my attention, I sometimes tend to overlook it as you know haha! So I have been doing some reading and watching, correct me if I'm wrong, I feel like we do not need any supply systems up and running early game so long as we have our food situation sorted? I'd prefer a supply ship over a baggage train once we enter midgame, but once we secure the next province we'll be able to eat from there if we don't venture out too far right (which I don't think will happen soon haha!)? My main concern is actually population. In any case, it's good to have the discussion about all this, I'd rather prevent any unnecessary losses and you are helping tremendously. So what do you suggest; Theater to Supply Pit? Bear in mind I prerec some episodes when I have time so changes will happen later.

@@yourfirstspear you want to atleast get one grain pit. You get to recruit the baggage train which gives 15% more ammunition to range troops. That’s huge (considering your going to have a good amount of range troops) Try to have it in a minor settlement

@@yourfirstspear Yes. I suggest to start putting a supply pit in the capital city in order to create a supplies route by land and a granary pít ina minor settlement as well. That helps you avoid relying on foraging in enemy or neutral territory ( in adjacent provinces ) I think everything is ok as long as the global food supply is in positive is when you play as a barbarian faction.

I mean im surprised that some good pikes and a sexy 200 cavalry men general unit can turn them into my favorite faction ...my best campaign in all total wars was with the antigonidai in dei....

Your doing really good!, in my campaign I liberated Larissa so I can create a buffer state between me and Athens. My first couple moves I liberated the enemy up north and immediately rushed towards Epirus (they got barracks better than the one you currently have.) Having created many buffers up north, I’m able to finally concentrate my forces on the Greeks. Tips: 1. Get some Macedonian Hoplites. You need them to secure the flanks of the pikes 2. Get Peltasts, they shred units with their javelins 3. If your gonna loot/liberate a city, sack it first so your able to get more money.

37.48 is a tough decision for early game in DEI. The population is important for replenishment and long term economy. But if the enemy rushes your settlement, you don't have the money to recruit the units you need to hold it for the short term.

I know I'm super late, but I just wanted to say that the whole idea of something being cheesy is a slippery slope. I thought renegotiating trade rights was brilliant and am kicking myself for never thinking of it. You aren't doing anything more than playing a game within the bounds of the game. People are welcome to handicap themselves in any way they please, but imposing those same restrictions on someone else is too much. If that's cheese then where do you stop? Are you allowed to use diplomacy? Are you allowed to use tactics? If using Cavalry when the enemy doesn't have any is cheese then why play the game? You're on Legendary, you can't go toe to toe with the AI, they get too many advantages to their stats. Anyway, I'm enjoying your content and I wouldn't put much stock in other's ideas of cheese. It's just a lose lose, you can't please those people.
