Iirc that Machi e he has puts him in a sort of limbo loop so his "death" isn't like others.

@@mickyflint Basically, he's only mostly dead. It leaves him at death's door, but doesn't kill him completely. His heart is stopped, but the brain can survive a few minutes without oxygen.

No, they are nothing alike. Man of Medan is a "Make your Choice" type of game. Death Stranding's Gameplay is basically being a Delivery Man who has to reconnect Post-Apocalyptic America while avoiding Terrorists and Beached Things.
