One funny use case for carapace is hiding in your shell while riding the conveyor belts down golgotha. Doing something about it one you reach the bottom might be a problem...

great video, i always liked mutations more than the cibernetics, true kin version is more convenient as you can hotswap the augments to make your build, but getting some options of randomly picked mutations on a level up and having to figure out which one would complement what you are doing always felt infinitely more replayable, i would rank beguiling as my top one, like even if i use it only once in a playthrough, having an extra party member is incredible, especially if you are doing a high ego glass canon type of guy so someone to distract and carry your garbage is great

you can put mushrooms on fire with kindle :D Also you can use it while frozen beneath you to up your temperature faster

Argggh you gotta try burgeoning! It’s pure chaos, and I like how much thought is required to use it effectively. High level burgeoning can summon patches of tongue tyrants, and go crazy against some enemies

46:43 Ego Projection lets high Ego mutants get more hp when it is needed. You can run 2 physical stats with high enough Ego + Level + Will. Also with enough quickness you can sometimes get two Ego Projections turn on before the cooldown even starts

Corrosive gas + clones is probably the strongest build in the entire game, nothing in the entire game resists or is immune to the damage iirc, the only downside is that its so strong you might kill things you dont mean too.

Some notes with my own opinions: Carapace should be S tier. I think the complaint of it being mutation point hungry is valid, but it's completely worth it. At higher levels, it's as good as a Zetachrome Mantle. The only other downside is that you can't get armor with modifications. If Burrowing Claws doesn't have the ability to dig down, it's a C. Getting a pickaxe is so easy, basically making it worthless in the version where Burrowing Claws can only dig thru walls. Burgeoning is very high risk very high reward. Playing with it requires vigilance, as it can very easily get you killed. However, it can be a very good option to take out hordes of enemies or as a panic button. It's a low A imo Corrosive Gas should also be S. Once you've played a run with it as your primary mutation, it becomes clear just how busted it is. The only downside is that it sometimes will aggro enemies you don't wanna fuck with in the early game like Beetlebums and that you can't have followers without killing them, but the DPS is so worth it. Precog should be S. I think the complaints you have with it being very micromanagey is valid, but if you utilize it well, it is more than just a gimmicky hijinks mutation. I find so many uses for it every time I take it.

Btw Photosynthetic also gives you cooking ingridients for the same effects. To get both effects need to spend both ingridients, limiting possible cooking recepies. But also the buffs are guaranteed to be the same even without inventing a recepie which is nice! The portions are based on the level

17:59 it is unfinished. It is supposed to let you transform into others based on lvl of the target, but it doesn't care about levels. Spending Skill Points and Mutation Points while being someone else wastes them if you transform back into yourself. I have no idea how one would even design it into being finished. Like you become someone else with their almost everything mutation and stat wise and skill wise...

High Ego Domination lets you steal stuff. Or move important NPCs somewhere. Or level up your companions (which honestly is a bit ridiculous that this is locked behind Domination). I had never seen failed or successfull domination agro ANYONE onto me.

Syphon Vim ignores phase and can hit flying enemies. Also syphon then panic button and enemy can die offscreen even

Some comments on individual ones I was paying attention to... General take here, you need to rebalance your "S" ;) Burrowing Claws: The up/down dig is "experimental" and unlikely to ever truly be a thing other than hidden behind experiment flag. I also don't think that it's damage dice scales good enough to use as a "main hand" weapon. Still probably A tier for wall convenience. B maybe, probably C Metamorphosis: Also part of "experimental" (features that are very much not maintained) - It's normally only a hidden mutation on a specific creature. Ignore it, you should probably just turn of "experimental" it only enables these two things. "Unrated/Broken" Night Vision: still only B-Tier even with invisible trolls IMO Force Wall: You can shoot guns through it

Light Manipulation apparently does not work on many robots...

The reason not to use any Stinger as your main weapon is that it has very poor PV, and it can't penetrate more than once anyway. Not a viable weapon.

Pv scales with level up to 13 and the sting ability always pens

@@BigSimpleCorrect. But as a main weapon, it has a special limitation in that it can never penetrate more than once. That is crippling.
