I have so much to say about Byrne’s Superman. His art was fantastic throughout his entire run. The only artists that portrayed Superman better was Neal Adams and Jose Luis Garcia Lopez with Dick Giordano inks. As for Byrne’s reinterpretation of the Superman mythos: I commend him for writing simple stories and building the supporting characters. However, my biggest problem was how he completely destroyed the Clark Kent/ Superman dynamic in his Man of Steel limited series that launched the new regular series. Clark never made any of the sacrifices as a teen. He was the high school football star player?! REALLY? Uggh!

Great comment! Neal Adams nailed Superman too. I like comparing his and Byrnes's version. I agree with you about The Man of Steel series. That's exactly why I didn't mention it in this video. Uggh is right! Thanks for the comment!!!

I pretty much have agree with you on rankings. My only difference is that I have #9 at a B+ only because the pink and green mesh well with the joker theme. Without the hahaha in the background I think that I would've ranked lower. Byrne also has a little action comics run that's pretty good. I'm still looking for the two or three issue run with big barda.

I hope you don’t take offense to this. Have you ever been tested for color blindness? I have noticed in a few of your videos that your perception on color is similar to my husband’s who is color blind (red/green) but his eyes “see too much” green. For example the word “DIE” on Superman 22 is pink that fades into purple and you called it red.

No offense taken. The screen I look at is kept dim to reduce glare and that makes colors difficult to make out sometimes. Thanks for the comment!
