I have followed their development in Benidorm since the song came out. They had 100 subscribers on KZbin and less than 600 on Spotify. No one gave a dime for them, until they started getting more views and positive feedback mainly from Latin America since the song went viral on tiktok. These last weeks they have been hitting 55k daily on KZbin and Spotify. These last days 100k daily. What a thrill for nebulossa to beat bands and artists that have had support from all the press, LOS40, record labels. They won this. They truly did. And the best part is that they are not even full time artists lmao

Keeping it short, the song is an empowering anthem. It talks about how women are called "Bitches" for literaly anything and how they never have their own merits, and therefore it embraces being a "Zorra" if that means living life, having fun and doing your best despite what others may say. Pretty much how the Gay comunity in Spain has embraced the terms that were used as insults against us, it's literally so iconic and good to see this winning. I'mma try to translate the lyrics properly :D

I was very surprised at first by mentioning the word in the title all the time. It shocked me, but as I listened to its infectious and happy rhythm, like a hymn, and the transgressive staging, I loved it. On the other hand, the dancers are not superfluous at all. We are too used to seeing women with little clothing on stage, and it is not bad that now they are the ones who add the point of sensuality and spice. Furthermore, it coincides more with the group to whom the song is dedicated, apart from women, the LGTBIQ+ group and specifically the transgender politician Manuela Trasobares. That's why Mery says at the end of the song "Throw the cup, throw the cup" at the moment of thanking the audience. Because, in fact, Manuela really did it, she throwed a cup to the floor. There is a video out there where he did it on a TV set, as a protest against all the pressure that women, and even more so, transgender women, suffer in society. In short, I love the song and the staging, even though Mery doesn't hit some notes, because it is a staging that raises the vibration and transmits joy, and that is what matters for a contest of this type. Thanks Nebulossa and their song "Zorra" for ESC. Greetings from the Basque Country 💕 ✨️

For those who is asking, "zorra" has 2 meanings: -It means vixen -And it also means b!tch. The message is: if women did things like go back to home too late, or if they have fun alone then they were called b!tch becasue they are not loyal women, they are not puppets in other words. And Nebulossa wanna give this message to us, it's a machism complaint of her era.

The song 'ZORRA' by Nebulossa is an anthem of empowerment and personal vindication in the face of labels and social judgments. The lyrics address the theme of how society tends to judge and stigmatize women for their behavior, especially if they deviate from traditional norms of behavior. The repetition of the word 'slut' throughout the song functions as a re-appropriation of the term, which is commonly used derogatorily towards women who live their sexuality and freedom openly and unapologetically. The artist expresses her refusal to change her nature to please others and celebrates her moment of self-acceptance and inner strength. The song reflects a process of personal reconstruction, where the protagonist empowers herself and becomes a 'postcard vixen', an image that defies expectations and criticism. The song's narrative suggests that, despite criticism, the woman has found her own path and is proud of who she is, regardless of the labels society imposes on her. The message of 'ZORRA' is clear: it is a call for liberation from judgments and the affirmation of one's own identity. Nebulossa uses music as a platform to express the fight against machismo and the importance of self-esteem and self-respect. The song is an example of how art can be used to challenge social norms and promote cultural change towards greater equality and acceptance of diverse identities and lifestyles.

For whatever reason my comment dissapeared after I edited a typo, Im leaving it here again in case somebody wants the lyrics: ~For all of you that dont speak Spanish~ Some people are a bit confused about why the song from Nebulossa is such a fever in Spain. Let me give you context: The word "Zorra" literally means female fox but its also a terrible insult to say to a woman, worse than b*tch. María Bass after her 56 years of living has been told this word countless times, for looking good, for having fun, for being honest, for being succesful, etc and now reclames the word to create a feminist anthem with it. ---The lyrics say the following: I already know I’m just a bitch, that my past consumes you I know that I’m the black sheep The misunderstood one, the stone-cold one I already know I’m not who you want me to be (I know) I understand that it exasperates you (I know) But this is my nature I can’t be bothered to change for you I’m in a good moment It was only a matter of time I’m going out to the street To scream out loud what I feel If I go out alone I’m the bitch If I have fun, the biggest bitch If I come back home after dawn I’m even more of a bitch When I get what I want (Bitch, bitch) It’s never because I deserve it (Bitch, bitch) And even if I’m taking on the world No one values it, not even for a second If I go out alone I’m the bitch If I have fun, the biggest bitch If I come back home after dawn I’m even more of a bitch I’m in a good moment (Bitch, bitch) Rebuilt from the inside (Bitch, bitch) And that bitch that you feared so much Became empowered And now she’s a picture-perfect bitch (Bitch, bitch, bitch) Who’s not doing bad anymore (Bitch, bitch, bitch) Who doesn’t care anymore Throw stones at me, who cares I’m a picture-perfect bitch I’m a real woman (Bitch, bitch, bitch) And if I act viscerally (Bitch, bitch, bitch) This bitch will turn into a jackal You’ll open a can of worms I’m a picture perfect bitch I’m in a good moment It was only a matter of time I’m going out to the street To scream out loud what I feel I’m in a good moment (Bitch, bitch, bitch) Rebuilt from the inside (Bitch, bitch, bitch) And that bitch that you feared so much Became empowered And now she’s a picture-perfect bitch
