so i read all 3. it is a trilogy i assume. first part is basically what happened here, Judy's pregnant, Nick tries to persuade her to keep the baby or something, but fails and ends up leaving Judy. second part involves him coming back to Judy wanting to apologise and all, and finds out that not only has she gone ahead with the abortion, she has also pretty much replaced him with Shannon//Shay, a vixen (female fox). eventually stuff happens and i don't remember if Nick gets kicked out, but eventually Judy and Shay embrace and that's where the second part ends. the third and final part has Nick basically reconcile with Judy, who is now the mayor. i forgot most of the stuff here, but basically it ends with Nick talking to other youngsters(?) and Shay adopting children with Judy, and guess what? there's also a few extra pages to the end of this trilogy. it involves Judy and Shay in their car, and Judy gets assassinqted in Kennedy-style. seriously, i'm not joking. you can look it up and read it, that happens to her in the end. man

It's important to remember that fanfiction is non-cannon. It may seem weird to most people that characters are doing things that they wouldn't actually do in the medium that they're in, but.... DUH. Do you have any clue how much fanfiction/artwork there is of Bogo and Clawhouser as a couple? Or Nick and Fenick? Or Judy's dad with Finnigan (the bully fox)? LIke Any Idea!?! That's how fan fiction works. It's best to consider, if it's fanfiction then the characters ARE NOT their cannon versions....Moving on. Judy being the one wanting the abortion? Eh, not all that surprising to me. Yea, prolifers tend to be women and men tend to be all "kill it", but the thing is the comic actually shows multiple problems with the concept from both sides. The main argument as to why women want abortions (even including cases of rape and incest) is usually "what about my career?" or "we can't afford it". Thus it makes sense for the comic to address those specific topics in a way that isn't completely one sided. One of the things the comic opened my eyes to was the fact that sometimes pregnancies can be dangerous to the mother.
@leafruns76722 жыл бұрын
@@Snowmon89 Fanfiction at it's best tries to explore characters as they are in the story in non-cannon scenarios. If you think about it, the creator of this comic had Judy, the main character of a story that says "racism is bad" rely on racism to why she didn't she think she could get pregnant. Seriously plug in the themes and allegory of Zootopia into this conversation and it's Judy saying, "See I knew different races of white people can get each other pregnant but I never though a black person can get me, a white girl, pregnant." Like seriously, she based her decision on a concept that had no evidence backing it up that only wasn't tried due to segregation(AKA, I don't think many prey and predators were fucking before the movie). So nothing suggests they actually couldn't yet she relied on that race-based assumption. It's even dumber as she knew vastly different species could breed(Like the creator showed a fucking pig and a sheep together, they aren't close to the same species), even if it was rare that does mean there's a chance. Yet without precaution, Judy dived into these untapped waters with a racism assumption without even a lick of research. The creator did this, with a story about "Racism bad" EDIT: I also realized that Judy worry her child might be a freak is also fucked up when you remember the allegories of Zootopia or in general how she's assuming the child would be a freak and not just different looking. (I mean they live in an animal world where Elephants - Giraffe - sheep are all considered the same brand of people[white/Europeans] I don't think a Rabbit/Fox cross breed would be that out of the ordinary.) Not even touching the other two talking point the creator gave Judy for many reasons But the person had Judy willfully do the one thing she knew can get her pregnant unprotected because she believed on the inside(regardless of her partner's feelings) she couldn't get pregnant because of her partner's race. Holy shit.

I think we can all agree Beastars handled the concept of Inter-species breeding far better (I mean granted the main villain of one of the latter arcs was the living product of an Inter-species sexual relationship, being a gazelle × leopard hybrid, but Melon is besides the point.) It low-key kind of broke me on the inside when Judy (in the comic) claimed that her & Nick's future child(ren) would come out being a "freak." I've seen tons of fan art of the Nick × Judy pairing kid/s and honestly? They don't look half bad (actually pretty cute. Super fuzzy bunoxes/funnies. Yes. "Funnies".)

This could've actually been interesting. If their attitude towards it were reversed, the comic focused on the characters reaction and viewpoint on the various implications of a pregnancy and the responsibilities of parenthood, I could even see it being a slow burn where both of them slowly realize what they're truly getting into. So basically just rework this comic from the ground up, with better dialogue and a tighter writing, like for example not going from zero to a hundred so goddamn fast. Seriously there's a reason why social dramas are so slow, it generally takes time for the story to properly introduce its complex themes and setup its characters, and then you go to a hundred. And even then you have to ask yourself : "Does it really have to be a Zootopia fanfiction?". The answer is no, no it doesn't.

I'm SO glad I never checked this out after seeing the movie. I heard whispers about it like a year or so after I saw Zootopia, but wanted to preserve my love for the movie by ignoring this edgy trashfire. If I want to read a dark Zootopia, I'll read Beastars. (Which is edgy but fun.) This comic is in no way "fun" edgy.
@Alondro772 жыл бұрын
"Beastars", at least the first two arcs, makes MUCH more sense than either Zootopia or this comic. In the "Beastars" world, predators legit have severe problems with their carnivorous instincts. They've been hiding the urge to devour their fellow citizens FOREVER. So the tension is BUILT-IN. In "Zootopia"... the 'prejudice' actually seems more between large and small species, rather than herbivore and carnivore species. Many of the cops are HERBIVORES, and look down on Judy because she's TINY. Mayor Lionheart looks down on Bellwether because she's SMALL and appears timid. Gazelle, on the other hand, hangs out comfortably with a bunch of enormous tigers. We see other similar examples. There's NO SIGN WHATSOEVER of the pred-prey conflict, save for a single flashback of Judy's INDIVIDUAL experience, which is hardly indicative of SOCIETY. Nick's issues stemmed more from fox-specific stereotypes, NOT PREDATORY ones. Therefore, the latter conflict didn't feel genuine, and was even more weakened by the laughably ridiculous ploy of Bellwether's, which only worked because of COURSE the NPC background characters all fell for it and NO ONE THOUGH OF RUNNING A TOXICOLOGY TEST ON THE VICTIMS LOOKING FOR ILLICIT SUBSTANCES, not even the COPS!! The story went out of its way to avoid common sense. Compare to "Beastars', where the cops and mayor KNOW what's going on, but they CAN'T intervene too much because the illicit predation of the Black Market is the sole thing keeping their society from collapsing... as we find out it almost had in the past, from a huge global war. The conflict ACTUALLY MAKES SENSE in that case! It's ongoing, and an integral part of every animal's experience. The predators are a GENUINE danger to the prey species. Murders and devourings take place on a regular basis. In "Zootopia"... the most dangerous gangster is a shrew. And we see no evidence of regular murder by large predatory species. So why would prey species, after THOUSANDS OF YEARS OF PEACE, so far as we, the audience can tell, still maintain such suspicion of predators.... OTHER THAN TO REINFORCE THE HEAVY-HANDED AGENDA-BASED MESSAGE OF "Racism's bad, m'kay?" It was shallow enough that I called Bellwether the villain after only seeing the final trailer in 2016, for no other reason than a WHITE SHEEP would be the best fit for the agenda's culprit. Lo and behold... CALLED IT!! Agenda makes for awful writing, which is why I liked the first two "Beastars" arcs so much. NO SPECIES, and no group of species comes out shining or innocent. They ALL have their major issues. They ALL have their failings. But many are also trying. Many are learning. They're all still figuring out how their strange world works. And that feels REAL.

Personally for me, the only times abortion makes sense is for r*pe victims, and mothers whose pregnancies will most likely kill them if not aborted, such as ectopic pregnancies where the baby may grow in places like the Fallopian tube. About the disability one… yes, it is controversial. But again, it depends on the disability. Some genetic illnesses, that will disable the child, can kill the child even before they get a chance to breathe their first breath. In those cases… there is no way for the child to survive. And there can be risks for the mother as well, such as deadly preeclampsia. So abortion becomes the parent’s/ parents’ only way.

this comic was really stupid for the fact that nick was written to look like a jerk after judy quite literally physically abused him. as if that wouldn't be the reason he walked out in a realistic setting. if I had this convo with my spouse and they slapped me like that, I'd walk out on them too, or heavily contemplate it. also, it's your channel so you can do whatever you want, but if you wish to grow as a content creator, making death threats (even jokingly) isn't okay... I don't like the comic either but no reason the creator should get death threats. think about it like this: 1. on a joke level, death threats aren't a huge problem as a joke, but if it's directed at someone genuinely not mentally well, they may take it seriously. 2. it may incentivize your following to do the same, or worse, because you initiated it with a joke death threat. viewers can be INCREDIBLY immature and petty; it's up to you to stop that kind of thing from happening, unfortunately. I'm just clarifying this because you seem like a genuinely fun guy to watch, and it's really really dangerous to make any sort of joke like that. I mean it all in good faith!

Simply put, all of Judy's "reasons" could've been worked through and/or around, and Nick could've had the chance to be the "good Father" that he may or may not have had growing up, while Judy could've taught their child to be "tolerant", "accepting", "empathetic", and "inclusive" towards other animals in Zootopia!

There's so much I could say to arguments you made, but I'll just leave you with this: It is NEVER our prerogative as humans to try and play God and decide "eh, this baby might not have a great life, so lets just kill it!" We have no right to trample another human beings right to life just because we subjectively believe they might not have a 'good' life. And you have absolutely no proof that they won't have a good life. Poor =/= unhappy. Only one parent =/= unhappy. Disabled =/= unhappy. To believe so is inherently discriminatory to people who fall in those groups. So many people exist in these conditions and still thrive and are happy. Children can still have great lives regardless. Murder cannot be justified by saying that "oh, well, it probably won't be happy." One way to make this a bit better: step 1: nick doesn’t want to have the child because he doesn’t want them to be made fun of them (if they are a pred) step 2: Judy tries to calm him down: the end

Read all the sequels! Especially the one where Judy Hops becomes JFK of pro-abortion and Nick does the 🔫

He kills Judy?!

Yooo you serious? Man now I wanna take whatever the hell the drugs were when the author was making this comic

Nick didn’t kill Judy. There were two other animals who did that. And she didn’t actually die, even though it looked like she did. Honestly, i feel that Borba really shouldn’t have involved politics into this. It just makes it less interesting and more unhinged than it already is.

@@SweetOrangeGirl how is abortion not political? It's been a political talking point since been alive and likely long before.

@@diegodankquixote-wry3242 That’s what I meant for all three comics. Well, at least I Will Survive and Never Say Goodbye.

I know this video is 1 year ago but I'll say one thing... You CANNOT tell someone to off themselves, you just can't. You will never know if they did it or not. Words affects anyone who is deppressed. I don't care if its a joke or not but NEVER EVER TELL SOMEONE OR ANYONE TO OFF THEMSELVES.

Funnily enough, the "Its like a brazilian soup opera" part is very accurate bcos the artist IS Brazilian, and sidenote: Now that i re-see it, this has an strange christian subtones like, its even weirder than i remember.

11:08 Wait people read this comic and had reactions other then laughter and utter bewilderment at the fact this actually existed?

Btw, the creator decided to double down on the absurdity and write a comic were Judy gets assassinated like JFK.

Nick in this comic is basically the average dad leaving to get the milk and never coming back
