His only friend Saria is gone and at the end there, with their mission accomplished, even Navi leaves him. He’s the selfless hero that sacrifices himself for the greater good. Majora’s Mask continues from there so I’m excited to see you continue his journey. PS. Excellent playthrough, easily the best blind Oot series I've seen. This is the game that causes the infamous timeline split. The future you left behind also continues in its own parallel universe (without you) along with the past you entered. Different games take place in different timelines. Majora's mask is a direct sequel yes. Wind Waker follows up on the future adult timeline whereas Majora's mask and eventually Twilight Princess follow up on the past child timeline.
@Lexyvil4 ай бұрын
I like to think that the timeline thing is not a thing at all, given that at the time they made this game, it was independent from all the other Zelda games prior, and the overarching timelines were only some fans years later trying to connect all the games as if they all shared the same world, instead of assuming that almost each game had a unique world with a different but similar Legend being told. I'm sure it was those particular fans and their questions about that subject that lead Nintendo to finally make a timeline via 2011's Hyrule Historia to try to answer to them, as they probably wouldn't otherwise. It's best to assume if a Zelda game is either a sequel (or prequel) to another if and only if it implied within the game itself, or if they happen to show visual queues. Nintendo seems to be playing more with that idea now though with the more recent Zelda games, I think it started with Skyward Sword (also released in 2011) since they decided to go with reincarnations of Zelda, Link and Ganon, instead of independent reiterations.
@clementrenaud42604 ай бұрын
@@Lexyvil Honestly, Wind Waker is a real sequel, it refers Ocarina of Time's story several times. The official chronology is a true mess, but when we read the texts in many games that came after Ocarina of Time and before Breath of the Wild we can see a continuity.

Playing the ocarina to dispel the barriers *would* have been a great idea. Once again, I've been playing this game for 25 years and you showed me something I'd never seen/done before. I had no idea you could stun Ganon with the light arrows, I usually just roll between his legs to hit the tail. (Also, side-note, he didn't randomly drop the bombs and magic refills. He destroyed pillars/blocs on the arena, and those dropped the items.) Some of the questions you have about the timeline(s) will be answered in some of the later games. The way I've always seen it, the reason Zelda sends Link back in time is because, while Link might look like an adult, his spirit was asleep during these seven years. In his mind he's still a child. So she's giving him a chance to grow up properly, as well as closing the Door of Time. I've loved this playthrough so much! Enjoy your well-deserved break.

The fact that it plays your original song with both the ocarina, the "sung" version and a flute I guess? is so heartwarming and the fact that it came off as horrifying and haunted beacuse of the rushed nature of the notes is absolutely hilarious, I love it

Most fun I’ve had watching an OOT play through in a long time. Can’t wait for Majoras Mask!
@ntate1233 ай бұрын
The implication for the end is that now that you know the future, you can go back to Zelda and tell her about Ganondorf's plan, since at that point in time Ganondorf is still swearing fealty to the king to play the long con for his plans. With the info Zelda then presents to the king, Ganondorf is imprisoned before he has a chance to do anything, and since Link closed the Door of Time behind him, there's no risk of the Sacred Realm being breached anymore. Happy end.

what a fantastic trip down memory lane for me. to a time when life was care free. this game will FOREVER be EPIC! The melodies played are etched in my memories.

watching the hookshot strat in the fire room might be the only time I was frustrated watching this series. turns out you can jump to that platform. Loved the series though :)

That and the hover boots make it so the platforms don’t sink. It’s kind of funny watching him not even try the hover boots after wearing them so much earlier. 😅
@MasterJediSoda4 ай бұрын
@@Tustin2121 Yeah, that was painful - in the way that you watch blind playthroughs to see. All those times he wore hover boots even when they weren't needed and the traction would have been better, and then running around with regular boots on here.

You joke about catching the bolt with a bottle, but if you had tried it, it would have bounced it back at him lol

I personally would love to see more zelda on this channel and it seems to do well as far as view count goes. I also would love to see you try to piece together the weird convoluted Zelda timeline. There is a canonical timeline, and it is very obtuse, it is perfect for a keen astute gamer such as yourself to try to unravel. Hope to see you in Majora's Mask in the near future!

I ended up binging this playthrough series (think when there was only 16 or 17 episodes), this was so fun to watch. I haven't played OoT in such a long time, think the last time I played it was when the 3DS version came out. It was nice watching someone with fresh eyes on this game experience it. I can't wait to see you do Majora's Mask!

This series was awesome. I looked forward to it and watched immediately. It was so cool to watch you work through this as a blind playthrough. It brought back some of the magic I felt as a kid playing it for the first time. Thanks for letting us tag along! If you play Majoras Mask, maybe I'll try it again. I never could get into it. I'll definitely watch you play, though.

Great game and a great playthrough! I'm so glad you got to experience it! I played this back when it was new in the 90s, and I still go back and listen to the credits sequence every now and then because it's just so beautiful. They made it feel nostalgic even back then.

Brilliant!! This was such a treat to watch someone, who can play a game critically, play OoT for the first time and enjoy it. I’ve thoroughly loved watching this series from beginning to end and am so glad I found your channel. I subscribed from episode 1 and was not disappointed at any one point. Even watching your witch boss struggles was fun lol - unfortunately fighting that boss without lock on is way better. Seeing this whole playthrough thru the eyes of someone experiencing it for the very first time brought me so much joy and it was as if I was there experiencing the same way too. This is something I didn’t know I needed, thank you Mapo Excited for Majora’s Mask and the rest of the Zelda series 🥰🤩

Had an amazing time watching you play this game! I love that despite not playing this as a child you're able to see and highlight how creative and special it was for its time. I hope to see you approach Majora's Mask with the same mindset. Not everyone likes it as much as OOT but it's such an interesting game both in story and gameplay!

It´s genuinely enjoyable to see people who try for the VERY first time without full context a Zelda game, especially Ocarina of time. In my opinion this game DO age well, and as for the time it was created it was made with such dedication and love for a franchise that opens so many doors in the future which we are now. And yeah, something special about this game is that it creates different timeline branches with the events that occurs in the present and the future, giving place to the other Zelda games.

I can't believe we're here already! This was an awesome series and I cannot wait for the next Zelda game. I also hope you look at vids of all the fun secrets that are in this game sometime, there's stuff that I didn't even know and I've played this game all my life. In fact, there are things I learned from *your* playthrough! It was so fun watching you discover and appreciate the magic of Ocarina of Time.

Such an incredible Let's Play of one of my favorite games of all time. I love how you always take the time to truly dive in and get immersed in the older games you play. I think you'll like the rest of the 3D Zeldas based on this experience. Thanks for doing this game justice Mapo, we can always count on you for that.
