Ultrahuman is still subscription-free and my preferred ring of choice. They have added one new paid metric since launching that you can unlock with a subscription for "Cardio Adaptability" with an AFib Detection one coming soon...but they have also added many free ones as well. Such as cycle tracking, pregnancy insights, Vitamin D, circadian alignment, caffeine window, etc.

It’s barely useable without the Internet connection, i.e. the app will pull the data from the ring, but it will have issues displaying some of it. Which is complete nonsense and has no reason being that way, but that is how it is. I’m cauciosuly optimistic as I seem to be noticing minor improvements in this regard, so it makes me thing that this is just sloppy programming rather than intentional, but yeah... We’ll see if they fix it eventually.

Wow its amazing to see soooo many annoyed people. Ive oredwred gen1 on dec 2023 and havent seen any negative feedback or reviews. Customer service was quick. I also had to send my ring back for warranty repair and they sent out new one within days. I wouldn't say they are scam nor shady. Id say they are smaller company doing their best to keep up

One thing I like about Oura is that when I come back to the app next day, it tells me the activities I did yesterday and asks me to confirm them. Pretty low effort, which works for me. Does not track everything, but generally I just care about my runs and bike rides.

Luckily got in at the Kickstarter price, would not really recommend any of the smart rings at their full prices. This one wasn't bad with its early bird pricing and lack of a subscription! Smooth delivery experience and works well so far!

I was part of the kickstarter and got my sizing kit and ring no problem. The ring was slightly delayed due to volume that they needed to produce and that I believe had a knock on effect to those who had then purchased post kickstarter, as they had to fullfill kickstarter people first. After this video I got intrigued by smart rings and did some research and settled on the ringconn 2 mainly cause of the no subscription. Put my order in on Dec 11th and got my ring today the 23rd. Not too bad considering its coming from Hong Kong and its around the holidays. So far I liked the different features and things it tracks and gives me ability to wear a regular watch instead of having to wear my apple watch all the time.

I have RingConn Gen 1 and I’m actually quite happy with it. My use case is exactly as Linus said: sleep monitoring with no subscription and no watch. The only complaint is that their promised 7-day battery life turned out to be more like 6.5, so I can’t just charge it on a fixed day and have to remember to check the battery periodically instead, so if Gen 2 fixes that, then it’s amazing (but I won’t pay again to upgrade, at least not yet, as other differences seem to be minor). For the record, no idea about Kickstarter, I purchased it last spring simply from the website and it arrived in less than a week.

I got mine on early Kickstarter for 200$. I like it. It's really a wellness tracker. When youre active however, bpm is insanely off.... by like 70-100 beats.. running it was at 69bpm and my watch was at 146bpm. I do however love how it keeps track of my averages and let's me know if things are off. Like "hrv" and "bpm". I'm using it as a wellness tracker and not fitness. I use my galaxy watch to track fitness. I went out to dinner and had a few drinks. It tracked that my hrc and bpm was higher than usual. It is pretty cool for wellness tracking. Makes me think twice about over doing it with alcohol as it seems everytime I drink my body tends to have a tough time overnight.

I backed the kickstarter for the gen 1 and got mine in may 2023 so I had it over a year now and I have found it great they are constantly upgrading the app and giving more and better features and iv always found the data they give you very good compared to My galaxy watch. they advertised the gen 1 to have 7 days of battery but I have always found mine lasting around 5-6 even now. I'm not sure about the order problems people are talking about but I know they shipped the gen 1 rings in waves that was for both the sizing kits and the rings and I saw alot of the same complaints from people not realising thats how it worked even though they stated it pretty clearly not saying that's what is happening with the gen 2 orders just that was my experience. As for the customer service I have never had an issue with it I do wonder if it is the case of them just being overwhelmed from all the new orders of the gen 2 I believe they aren't a huge company so probably have a limited support staff and its only their second product. TLDR~ gen 1 owner love my ring would of upgraded to gen 2 but gen 1 still going strong and maybe give the support the benefit of the doubt they might be swamped with the new product release.

Sleep Apnea works... I went to a sleep study...Meaning I had to sleep at a facility with tons of wires on my head and body. After about 3 days they called me to let me know I needed a CPAP Machine....Which I got through the VA.

The sleep apnea measurements seem highly inaccurate. It consistently shows no abnormalities, yet both my in-home and in-lab tests confirmed I have sleep apnea. This is disappointing because I specifically purchased it for the sleep apnea readings. Additionally, the step count appears to be off as well, as it seems to overcount. I am not even sure how accurate are the other readings, like O2 and HR.

It does not need to sync consistently, i usually sync every one or two days. To my knowledge the ring can hold up to 7 days of data, but i have not tested it myself.

Whilst I'm not health-conscious at all, this is actually kind of interesting for me, or at least it would be if it wasn't $300 US. I do have a smartwatch which has Blood Oxygen and BPM monitoring in theory, but I need to charge it every day and there is no way I'd wear the chunky thing in bed, it would be too distracting, considering I already have issues falling asleep. An unobtrusive ring would be doable. Again, the price is a bit of a dealbreaker. I don't care _that_ much.

I just use a cheap garmin watch, it has all the health and sleep tracking you need, battery lasts weeks (mine is 4 years old and still goes ~12 days without a charge) and cost about £120. I've never really understood the whole stand alone smart watch thing myself, the screens are too small and battery life is wank.

I don't know what watch you have, but I understand the thought of sleeping with a watch on. I have an AmazFit, that ShortCircuit talked me into several years ago, and at first sleeping with it seemed annoying. Like you I struggle with falling asleep and staying asleep, esp if there is anything annoying me. However, after few days to a week I got use to it and it I kind of feel naked without it. The main difference is that I don't have my watch connected to my phone, as I don't want all those notifications popping up on my wrist constantly. So I can go around 2 weeks or a lil more before needing to charge it. I simply connect it to my phone in the morning to sync my health and sleep monitoring to the app, then turn Bluetooth off on my phone right after. I'm sure if I had it constantly connected to my phone that my battery life wouldn't be great either. Also have the Always On feature turned off. I realize I'm in the minority as far as how I use my smart watch. Never understood why people keep it connected to their phones if they still need to have their phone on them anyway. I'd like a LTE smart watch so that I could go for a walk and listen to music with earbuds without having to carry a heavy phone

Interesting how this managed to be a sponsored piece. On the WAN Show Linus has openly and often his dislike of 1. Devices being unrepairable especially for batteires and 2. Companies collecting unnecessary data of customers. I don't mind sponsored pieces, would just like it if you commented or mentioned these in the video. It can be as simple as adding a line after stating how long the battery life is that battery is not replaceable. Additionally, mentioning there is no subscription cost but not discussing if they're collecting any health data or even just the price of the RingConn is interesting. The info about battery replacement and data collection would not be out of the scope of the video, not extend the video's lengths beyond reasonable means and this info is not obvious or self-evident. Additionally, I have watched the whole video. All I want to point out it is interesting that certain points discussed elsewhere are omitted when doing something sponsored. If a sponsor doesn't want you to talk about it, probably shouldn't work with that sponsor. Thank you for pinning the comment from RingConn saying they are working on their order management though, exactly what you should do to address the comments about extremely delayed shipments. Overall, my point is it is interesting that things championed in other LTT content are not addressed here regardless of whether it is sponsored. I am not upset, nor will I stop watching LTT (especially the WAN Show). It can be difficult to balance sponsorship talking points, opinions and etc all in one video. Recent reports on literacy rates and google trends AFTER the US election make this unsurprising, but the sheer number of people and amount of complaints that have no real basis are incredible. Kickstarter is partially at fault for doing such a poor job at scaling to the common person instead of the tech bros that use to exclusively be backers, but personal responsibility really is totally non-existent. 8% of backers are still waiting for their ring, and the initial batch of shipments was supposed to start AT THE EARLIEST 4 weeks ago. With the Ringconn expecting ~200 backers and getting 18,000, they have done incredibly well. I am still waiting for my ring, but this is a apple watch replacement for me, not something anyone needs ASAP.

I have been using my Ringconn 2 at the same time as my Apple Watch Ultra. When I am doing >120bpm exercise, the Ringconn is way off. It also has only a limited selection of exercise options. It seems to be fine with daily usage, but I return to the Apple Watch when I am working out. If you want it for exercise tracking, this is not your answer.
