Food for thought, Dan'l. IF you have enough flow to get a line through from upstream side to the downstream side, then you can pull a section of chain through. Have a long enough chain that you're able to clevis a loop around a 12"-18" tire on the upstream side. Then, if you have a straight line on the downstream side which is solid enough for equipment, you can then pull the tire through the culvert to ream out the mud to create more flow for your water. Great tool at your disposal there. Too much fun.

Daniel it’s been too wet here where I live to do any kind of dirt work also. Daniel the Beeper on the excavator was probably a OSHA deal for safety purposes. OSHA requires that on Heisters also! And a very nice piece of equipment that seems to be able to tackle most any job you would have!

One advantage to having the alarm beep in both directions is so animals as well as people will be well aware when that machine is moving or going to move vs it standing still with the boom swinging back and forth. Obviously your animals heard the noise and figured out where to stand in the pasture to watch the “show”.

I watched an old operator remove water/dirt from a water main break. He made a berm toward him and dumped the buckets on the other side of the berm so the water and dirt would run away from the break. He finally got most of the water out so we could put in a large sump pump to get the rest of the water out.

Unplug that beeper. It is not required by law for you to have it working on your own property. I work at a water utility, and they have a heavy chain welded inside the bucket. As I understand it, the weight of the chain helps to "dump" the mud from the bucket. Not so much shacking of the bucket... Might be worth a try, you can always remove it..

Here's a suggestion, get a pair of bluetooth ear protection headsets. With the door closed it should not be that loud inside the cab.
