Deluxe Memory Man and it’s not even fair. It has just the right amount of everything PLUS the chorus/vibrato. And I’m a Moog fanboy.

I know it's sacrilege, but I have been through a fair few analog delays, am willing to spend whatever it takes for magic, and the Strymon El Cap just does it for me. I have previously had Diamond Memory Lane 2, Analogman ARDX20, Boss DM2 (original), and the DMM big box. The DMM is the best, hands down, but without tap tempo it's not practical for me.
@GriffinJenningsMusic3 жыл бұрын
If it works for you that’s what’s important! I traded away my timeline and still regret it! How’d you like the Memory Lane?
@FindabandNewZealand3 жыл бұрын
@@GriffinJenningsMusic it was cool and had some unique features that were great (I had the II which offers two delay settings, so you can have your long delay + a slapback - pretty much covered my bases) but tonally I never really fell in love with it. The El Cap sounds better to me. I did love the ARDX20 - that's an underrated, really great sounding delay - but the tap tempo and mod being a separate pedal was really weird. I had the old ARDX20 which has a lame design, the new organ box one looks cool as hell. I know that shouldn't matter...but it matters.
@GriffinJenningsMusic3 жыл бұрын
@@FindabandNewZealand it absolutely matters! I feel similarly, the ARDX seems sick but i dont wanna use an extra power slot for the modulation. In my hierarchy of delay pedal needs, modulation and tap are at the top.

I could never justify the cost of the moog, but the tremolo and chorus in the DMM is so cool! I ‘d love to get that with the clarity of the aqua puss.

I have a Carbon Copy and a Memory Toy coming my way. Really curious which one I will like more
@kyledonworth3845 Жыл бұрын
Which did you like more?
@jillesguzman3333 Жыл бұрын
@@kyledonworth3845 Hey Kyle. It´s tricky :-) Soundwise: Slight win for the Memory Toy. But: I´d still take the Carbon Copy because you can adjust the modulation to taste by opening it, just manipulating the trimpods. That´s a huge bonus. Yes, I know, it can be done with the Memory Toy as well, but it´s not without risk because you have to mess with the contacts, not recommended. No sure if you care about visuals but the Carbon Copy looks beautiful as well. At the end I go with : 55-45 Carbon Copy. Both do their job. Wonderful, warm sounds that don´t stand in the way of your playing. They just create another dimension, especially with the modulation on. Go for it!
@bumblefritz8 ай бұрын
@@jillesguzman3333I purchased a Deluxe Memory Man Nano a few months back and that pedal would solve your modulation issue. It has knobs for modulation rate and depth.

Have I been pronouncing Moog wrong? Nice shootout vid btw
@GriffinJenningsMusic3 жыл бұрын
thanks! I dont actually know, I think its personal preference at this point
@PedalExperiments3 жыл бұрын
I heard somewhere that it's officially pronounced like "Maug". Like, with an "ow" sound. But I think saying it with more of an "oh" sound like in this video is how most people say it. That's the one I prefer, anyway. Ha ha
@Spuzzmacher2 жыл бұрын
Nah it was always pronounced Moog, until a few years before Bob Moog mentioned he thought it was originally pronounced Mogue in Dutch, & after that everyone started calling it Mogue. So if you learned the original way (or you’re an actual Dutch speaker), then you probably just pronounce it Moog.
@LiamCShepherd2 жыл бұрын
mow-gh is correct, they produced a synthesizer the 'moog rogue' and it certainly not pronounced 'mewg rewg' :)
@terrybanks5063 Жыл бұрын
@@Spuzzmacher yep straight up moog. unless youre a cork sniffer, then mogue sounds better. because its posh you know.. i was here back in the day and its always been moog. i have a multimoog synth, if anyone called it the other in its presence i would say, "leave my house" 😆 and liam shepherd, its a play on words for marketing. rhyming is cool 😅dry my eye.
