Ive learnt Indian Classical music for a year, and this is helping a lot to brush up and to be honest....this is one of the very few actually useful and informative channels for learning to sing. Thanks a lot.

I've found this video only a few days ago and love it so much. It's not hurried and the riffs are really beautiful. Today I have a bad voice day and was really badly off key so I switched to lip trills and noticed that I am hopelessly bad at those too. I haven't done any lip trills in weeks and now that's catching up with me. Gonna switch to lip trills completely for a while to get a basis back

Excellent idea! Get back to fundamentals then come back to the riffs. Also, maybe this one too: kzbin.info/www/bejne/enytopRmZZppaKc Enjoy! Jeff

Let me just start by saying I love your work and I do warmups to your vids whenever I get a chance... I just feel like that last high note was darn near 2nd Soprano lol
@Equinox1.54 жыл бұрын
The higher notes are much easier if you do the lip trill.

are you able to put up the sheet music for these on your site? some of these got pretty complicated and I'd be able to follow along better with the notes in front of me? I can't be the only one. thanks! love your videos, after not singing for almost 20 years, I can feel myself coming back thanks to you,

Hi Jeff. I was wondering about using vibrato during warm up/ practice exercises verses singing straight for voice strengthening ? Yours is really obvious at 6:07. These are cathartic while singing in hot sun behind glass in -5 . Thankyou
@JeffRolka3 жыл бұрын
Hello Heather, In my vocalizations, I neither avoid nor encourage vibrato production. Rather, consider that the presence of vibrato is a good indication of a well-balanced, engagement system. If it is present, it's a good sign that your vocalizations are well aligned and balanced. If it isn't, something else may be in play - too much vocal fold tension or attempts to 'place' the notes may be happening. Assess it as you go and use it's presence or absence to diagnose your efficacy. Best! Jeff

Hi Jeff, a question, how is the range for Alto? From which to which note exactly? Thanks for keep posting videos, they're really helpful. Greetings from Argentina
@kotosqoposrly5 жыл бұрын
I noticed that, on the internet, especially on KZbin, Contraltos are called Altos for whatever the reason. Contraltos are usually good at singing notes below C4 down to Fa, some even sustain Tenor ranges (C3 lowest note). Anything higher than F5-G5 is usually difficult for Contraltos. But if you are an Alto in a choir, then you can perfectly be a Mezzo and not necessarily go as low, depending on the play (some are very inconsiderate) and sing mostly in the 4th octave not going lower than La below middle C.
