I like the intro to equations❤. I’d love to see a video going through the grades though, maybe 7th through master😊I.e. start at what are variables, go to equations, touch on non-linear, move on to ODEs, then PDEs, with more than one variable, then … (Einstein notation)…then 🎉 just mention some underlying principals as ‘that’s how it rolls’, no need for proofs, those will come eventually if one decides to study math. Shout out to my math teacher in HS, and two profs in university. Without them I would not have been able to get my degree😊

Man you are really a life saver! when im trying to solve an equation I regularly get confused cuz i use transposition method and sometimes i forget about changing the signs ( - and + ).

When I began watching your videos this was stuff I had stored in some drawer of my brain accumulating dust. Now, as you said, it's just a review. ;)

Hi there! I'm in the process of preparing for my test to become a teacher aide (or paraprofessional, as they call it in California) and as math is part of the test, I was looking for some online resources when I stumbled upon one of your tutorials. I really like your teaching style and subscribed to your channel, but I was wondering how I could get involved with your math help program? How exactly does it work, is there a charge for it, etc? Thank you for your help and time!

Damn, I learned more in five minutes watching this video with the simple explanations and diagram used than I did in a year of algebra in high school. So much so that my wife had to do my algebra homework in high school so I could graduate.

One of my biggest @#$% in high school was fooling around when it came to Algebra 1968. There must be a series of Formulas to complete a calculation. They must also have some value to determine some outcome for something /s.. Looking back over my working career i have been looking at a lot of Engineers calculations which fascinates my passion for numbers. I should never have dropped the ball by fooling around.

why u have to do the hard way? u crossover the ( = ), all numbers change sign, from positive to negative (or the oposite) or more simple they do the oposite work. if they multiply -they divide (or oposite) , if they add, they subtract (or the oposite). also at last equation, way simpler way.....2h/5 =1/2 (u cross the numbers) 2h * 2 = 1*5 and then divide to leave h alone 4h=5 h=5/4.

At 4:55 putting a negative 3 into starting to solve the equation means nothing to many people. You can add/makeup anything one wants to get things going, but it explains absolutely nothing on WHY you started with negative 3 to begin with. For MANY to try and understand WHY it has to start that way in order to solve the equation to begin with is cryptic/confusing/convoluted/and most of all just plain confusing.

The goal is to get the variable, x, on one side of the equation all by itself.

How come you didnt reduce 5/4 to 1 1/4
@enriqueiii9209
@enriqueiii9209 2 жыл бұрын
You don't reduce 2/5 * 5/4 = 10/20 = 1/2 or cross divide = 1/2

Can you explain why in the mother of all maths gods, is "TIMES" "X" invisible ? it's inferred as a multiplication ? I always hated that, we have +-:X why oh why whenever we have a multiplication the X just vanishes ? "-2t" Oh, wait, what's 2t ? OHHHHHH 2xt !!!!! 2 MULTIPLIED BY T !!!!! lol

I'll never get this. How does positive 14 divided by negative 2 equal negative 7??? Still dumb after 53 years....
@randyyates9837

From the following rules: 1) plus times plus = plus; plus times minus = minus; minus times plus = minus, and minus times minus = plus, and 2) 14/-7 = 14 * -(1/7)

Why, as in many other videos do you talk about negative values if the here is no negative value involved? There is NO negative 2 in the equation y-2=10. There is a 2 that value has to be substracted from the y. Because if -2 in y-2 means a negative 2 as you say what has to be done with that negative 2? Do you agree that there is no operator before that -2 that tells us what to do with it? That's because you make the error to talk about negative 2 in stead of substract 2. I notice that a lot of these videos contain these kind of errors. And thats why so many of these videos are the reason of confusion and so errors made by students.

ever heard of "pissing into the wind"? That is your understanding problem. No one can solve it for you, and today it is not politically correct to tell you to see a shrink about why you fight so hard against any logical system not of your own making.

@@davidsnedeker8098 In many of the TabletClass Math videos many errors have been made. And the maker of the videos presents the videos to teach students something about math. Well, as a math professor for over 50 years at all kind of levels, I have seen students feil their exams because they followed the instructions they saw in the TabletClass Math videos. The whole idea behind these videos is a marketing tool for the Tablet]Class Math organization, see their website and the introduction in each video. And even on the website there are errors in the videos they show as examples of their courses. And because math is too beautiful and students deserve correct instructions, it is important to warn those students for the errors in the videos so that they will not make these same errors when they do their exams.
